Just a suggestion - I don't know how difficult this would be to implement, but I think having an expanded multiplayer chat (to allow typing chat) would be a good thing. The MP playerbase is small, but a chat could help grow and keep players.
* It creates a social aspect to the game which makes it more enjoyable/competitive.
* It allows players to connect with each other and grow into a more cohesive player community.
* Better players could provide tips to newer players (which is the hardest obstacle in gaining new players).
A player community can be helpful in promoting the growth of the game. Many of us enjoy the game and want it to see it succeed as well.
The cons, of course, is negative/toxic behavior. This WILL happen, as with any multiplayer game, but I don't think it warrants keeping the chat so restricted. A chat filter can help alleviate many issues. A smaller playerbase can even self-police (like with PabloHere). If the other concern is to protect younger players, there are many other online games with chats that are targeted towards a younger demographic (which Age of Rivals doesn't).
On another note, has anyone else seen players that are able to send some chats outside the chat options? I've seen something like "Wow, How Lucky!" and "[name] Is the Best!" How are they doing that?

Nice to see a new post in this forum.
The problem here, I think, is that a lot of players don't know the existence of this forum. They know this game not from Kongregate, but from steam or google play store.
When this game first launched in 2017(or late 2016 maybe?), there were a lot of posts in this forum. By then, the best place for communication was definitely here in the forum.
I'm not sure how necessary would a chat system be. But I know this is an indie game, which means its harder for the dev to build anything.
I think the best solution may be, just let them know the existence forum from inside the game, or maybe build a new forum.
As for the custom chat, that is purchasable for the Kongregate version of this game.

Bummer, I can't stand the Kongregate platform (I'm on iOS). Would happily pay a little extra for a similar custom chat on iOS :)
