Regarding point 2, as far as I can tell the Morale upgrade scales 1.5x with each upgrade - taking into account the baseline 100% from 0 upgrades. So the first upgrade is +50% (1.5x), second is +125% (2.25x), third +237% (3.37x), fourth is +406% (5.06x), etc.
