I seem to have exactly that bug. After event ended, game jumped to moon and I can neither leave there nor end the event. Game refresh didn't solve the issue.
Update: event ended now for me.
I encountered an issue where I beat area 51 on the moon and when I switch areas, it takes me to the arctic even though I haven't beat Area 51 in the desert. Reloading the game takes me back to the desert.
