For timed events, what exactly determines the difficulty of each raid?
I've heard some people only fighting 1-2 enemies per raid while others fight 6-7

I think the new Alliance event is a bit bugged...Because for me the difficulty doesn't change until wave / raid 180 and it is ultra easy as the final "Boss" of a wave has 1.82K poower.....meaning I get effectively 4 easy Konung cards.
But I don't mind

i'm not sure but it seems to depend on your own strength. I noticed that enemy stats increase every time I upgrade one of the heroes that take part in the raid

Well I have just the dwarf and Elf and combined they have no more than 103K power, which is more than enough to complete all 200 raids for me.

I completed the full raid with the Elf alone, with almost no upgrades. A second enemy started to spawn around wave 175, and it never became any harder. The elf one shot every single enemy until the end... I cannot say i had any fun clickin those buttons for 200 waves. But, heh, i got easy epic hero cards... woot..

Same for Royal event, I have a King from daily quest, then the King alone got through first 180 waves, only one enemy per wave. After wave 180, it spawned up to four enemies, but from the previous waves I got enough cards for Princess and Konung, so I got through 200 waves without problem. The event is seriously bugged but anyway, easy but tedious way to get epic cards.

Each unique event can differ in its complexity, additionally, the complexity depends on the strength of your squad.
