What's the optimail strategy to progress in this game? I am relatively new, and so far I've made it to wave 490. I used to place all towers - the rarest first - to make a balanced maze, but I read in another thread that Fire Devil is so damn good and so I decided to give it a go. I focused everything on the Devil - it gets all the kills and all the experience, and I only place other Mythic creaturs for the fire immunes. All other slots are left for fire monsters to boost the Devil. My only other towers I ever gave any love are Beary Fungi and Earsy Rider. As for everything else, so far I've tried to keep things balanced. Any relics I get, I spend them where I can. Research - maxed most of them, the ones that have no cap are sort of getting what's left. If I focused anything, it's chance for 3x essence gain, and gold and exp gain. Tech tree - I only got some points so far, but I'm going down fire route because it boosts the Devil, but also because down there is the booster for tech ship loot. Spells - I have Essence Storm on autocast, but that's it. I use Frenzy Aura, Deadly Strikes and Strength Aura to kill Cargo Carrier when I can. Are there any better combos or anything like that?

Just keep grinding. When you make it near Celestial towers, they will start pushing enemies out with 2 elemental immunities and flat out disable the usefullness of focusing Fire Devil. It'll be painful, but you want to focus on Celestial towers as soon as you can because Fire Devil's base multiplier is weaker when the new tower set is on the same XP level. (Not exactly, but rough power level assuming average Attribute distribution) And when you start reaching 3 immunities around wave 700, you'll be wishing you rotated XP gain for three different tower types. Focus on generic damage increases and then pick 3 damage types you want to be damage dealers. Until you reach end game (godly towers), just pick whatever damage types have the most Artifact boost and reset every day. Took me about 3 weeks to reach wave 800 and 90 resets, so don't fret too much about efficiency.

I'm wondering if it will be effective to single-tower at the end game with squid's anti-shield aura levelled up a bit. Not clear if that's a flat % chance or a chance per second. Probably the former though.

I play 10days F2P,highest wave 870 now the real progress is TP(tournament point),essence,and gem,xp,tech points,when you reach wave 800 gold is trash tower set up or combo not important,it's doesn't improve you farm essence,and gem,xp until you get exotic tower but not change lot why?cuz wave doesn't affect essence/xp/gem's income,so place 2 different element tower until you die and go back to wave 1 if you can stay at PC>run boss rush if you've no time or sleep>normal run TP: most useful upgrade can only purchased by TP,try enter better bracket as possible higher rank bracket's worst reward = lower's top10,stay at lower rank and try get in top10? no it's impossible cuz all top 25 will enter next bracket so if you want get more TP the only way is reach high wave,don't afraid you can not get good score in next bracket essence: artifact,relic,research,tp they all have upgrade can increase its income,boss essence are best gem:daily quest,save 500 gem for 2x speed xp:when you finish most researchs put your all essence into xp ignore gold income before you reach wave 800 tech points:I don't suggest do it before wave900,cuz artifact IV increase tech points's income and every ship's HP keep raising pretty fast,so if you do it at early means you lost lot tech points if you want reach wave 800 your strongest 2 towers need at least level 250~300,when you can use only 2 towers reach wave 550 easily you can prepare rush to wave 800,enter tornament>get daily reward>then you can have 4 days to reach wave 800 and won't miss tornament,I spend 3 days from 550 to 870 with 10 tech points I know I don't need any tech points to reach 800,now I feel I lost 20 tech points...that why I write it,don't do tech ship before you get 2 tech scroll artifacts,cargo carrier too,TP can increase its gems drop,once you get 2x speed you can ignore it until you max it

It is very hard to say what the optimal strategy is but some concensus things are: 1. Always focus on two towers of different elements at the time and level them up to progress as fast as possible. When a robot comes which is unkilable just hope for better luck next set of 10 waves. Progressing this way is faster than using 3 towers. 2. Rarer tiers of towers outscale the more common ones eventually. It is tricky to decide when to ditch your old well leveled and boosted ones but you have to do it eventually. You can skip a tier or two maybe even but eventually you should aim to only play with godlies. 3. Boss rush mode gives best gain of essence and probably prestige gain and is also as good as normal mode for experience gain. Use it whenever you can activly prestige often. When using boss rush prestige as soon as you are very likely not to push next wave on next try. 4. Use non boss rush over night when sleeping to gain more gold and push some waves in the morning. Use non boss rush when trying to go to high wave. 5. Balance between farming and reaching high wave to unlock new towers and tournament tiers. When you feel like you can push next breakpoint in resonable time do it. Otherwise farm farm farm to get stronger. 6. Since investements have diminishing returns and increase in cost spread out your investements. Some things however are not worth it. At all. Dont spend premium currency on minor increase in power like gold on kill for tournament points or gems. It is not worth it. 8. Once things start really slowing down ( wave 1500 or so ) you will need to heavily invest in stacking gold gains to progress. One of the strategies is to invest heavily in drone gold gain and cooldown. But you will need a lot of tech points and tournament points to make it worth it. 9. Reaching new tournament bracket is usually better than staying in low one as long as possible to get a higher rank especially if you joined late it will be hard to get a decent rank. 10. Always do as many dailies as you can each day it is very important. 11. Have some kind of tech ship scroll gain strategy. Do not kill to many tech ships before each one of them gives you 5 scrolls instead of one. ( you get +2 after rerolling artifacts once you reach wave 750, and you get 2 more from tech tree). you can unlock the tech tree by killing some tech ships after 750 or by buying the 500 gem pack or combination of both. 12. Talk with people in game room chat, ask around there is a lot of tips you can get. DONT: be stuborn and not reset for extended periods of time, this game is all about prestiging often, only push when you can reach your next breakpoint in resonable time. use premium currency on stuff which is not worth it dont invest any currency on stuff which take weeks to pay back, developer is active and new features come in all the time, it is usually better to save up a bit then just throw away stuff like essences into something just because its there and there is nothing else to use it on at that point. How do you guys level your towers up? I have 2 legendary, 4 ultra rare, 4 rare. Currently I spend most of my coins in the legendary, keeping it 10 levels above the ultra rare, and the ultra rare 10 levels above the rare.
