Ok, I'm reasonably quick to area 6, and can make it to 6-5. I also have the dungeons up to levels between 1000 and 1400, and killed the challenge bosses up to the fourth a couple hundred times. Several hundred bestiary mobs are also looted regularly.
WHERE THE EFF DO I GET THOSE CORES FROM, that you need for Dark Ritual? The bosses obviously don't drop them, so what do I miss? For weeks I'm now stuck with Gold and Gold Cap, because those idiotic core thingies won't show up anywhere!
Any reasonable help will be appreciated (but if you can only say "I got some, don't know from where", refrain from answering, please)!

They come from the challenges. Very rarely. You'll probably need to use alchemy potions to keep dropping their levels so you can keep killing them.

Thanks a lot! It'S a relief to at least know, where to look for them. I will concentrate on challenges now for a while!

Ok, small update. I used alchemy potions to do the deathpider challenge several times a day, each time to about level 60. Cores collected in 11 days (= approx. 1800 levels): 0
I get
-potent venom sample
-black pearl
-spider iron silk
-venom soaked cloth
-spider heart
-webbed core
According to the bestiary this means, that deathpider core is the ONLY thing NOT dropping. It is said to have a chance of 0.25%, which means 2.5 in 1000. I made more than 1800, which is enough to counter the propability range.
Worst of all, I could maybe drop it if my drop rate was increased. However, in crafting 'Sticky Silk Stick' needs a deathpider core to advance to the next level. So I'm double screwed. Any other ways to obtain the effing deathpider core? It really annoys me.

well my theory is not proven yet but is very valid is that a monster with alot of diffrent items has an item bumpt out when u get a more important item to appear like fighting king slime it will bump out slime king core almost every time do to only one item being droped by an enemy but to posibly fix the issue use angles lucky stance which double drop slots and drop chance at cost of attack and magic damage to get lvl 100 angle distraction

Definitely only farm challenges with an angel that has lucky stance on. Actually, only farm any kind of inventory resource with an angel that has lucky stance on.
The devs are changing drops per second from total drops to drops per item type. Can't say when, but that will keep one item drop from interferring with another, which I think can happen currently. Lucky stance helps some by doubling drop rates and allowing two items, but even with that, it's still possible for three or more items to drop during the same second, and they have never explained how the game determines which item drops if multiple items drop at once. The chance of getting 0 drops out of 1800 at 0.25% is pretty low, but the chance of other items dropping at the same time as the core seems pretty likely to me.

well there is good proof u can go about 3k kills on an challenge boss with 5 items and more to get lucky on and not even manage it but golem is about every 500 to 1k kills so its definetly item interferance which sucks the drops should not be caped for bosses and challenge bosses and bosses should only have its item collection be limited to one because i bet the fox core hunting mission is close to impossible thanks to this or if ur hunting baby foxes on lvl then ur odds are up but still very low do to boss summon rate o ya the rate on games like this is 50 50 shot usualy enles more items the more items that spawn decreases the chances durring the kill it should put highest rarity first but it dosnt

Actually your math is wrong because it's not regular 0.25%, (so 2.5 for 1000), it's 0.25% each time, so you can kill him 20k times with 0 drop because 0.25% droprate = 1/400 each kill.
take the problem in reverse side, each time you have 99.75% to drop nothing, so you have nothing a lot of time it's pretty nice

well toffork thats base when average ame for about 2 to 3 times base rate which is lvl 40 boss and up so its 1 in 200 and 1 in about 133 that not including item interferance

Another update. I make it short. In the three weeks that have past since my last post, I played daily and made daily challenge runs (but less intense, because I ran out of "reset drinks", forgot the actual name, and needed to grind for monster fluids more often).
**Zero Deathpider cores!**
I don't care for math explanations. This simply is a bad gaming system, where others may find a dozen cores, but you can't even make any progress elsewhere, because you need at least one of these cores. Bad, ugly, annoying. Please, developers, if you read this: Free me from the torture of the last 4 weeks of daily playing without success, and grant me a code for a free deatchpider core. I really have no fun anymore!

I assumes that you'd better level up character and equipments more and try again later.
I'm telling this because I had never ran out of the reset drinks, because I gets more black pearl than I spend for.
Black pearl is the 4.5% drop from the challenge boss, but it was sufficient to farm almost infinitely. (I started with 650 pearl, but end up with 600 after a weak)
Drop rate for a challenge boss increases with challenge level, so level 60 may not be a sufficient for grining cores.
Here's my rough stats when I grinded deathspider core (5k kills and got 5) - Sorry I don't recall the exact stats, because I reincarnated recently.
- Drop bonus: around 125% (from the stats)
- Only drink potion when I fails to kill the challenge boss at the level, to maximize challenge boss drop rate.
- Only create potion from the lower level -- it only uses 1 black pearl, so cost effective.
- Death spider challenge level was around 80.
ps1) My beastier says core drop rate is 0.18%, which means there's 3% chance of zero drop after 1800 kills.
ps2) Why do you care about the deathpider core? It only grants bonus in puritifaction speed, which isn't important at all.
I unlocked the dark ritual just to maximize my reincarnation, but I hasn't assigned any worker on it.
I recommend to only care about the golem core, which gives you the MP regen.
It helps you to maximize your skill slots.

Actually that is not how it works. You are correct that the chance is 0,25% but the % means: percent, per cent, per every hundred. So correctly calculated a thousand times, up the percentage to 2,5%. Though that doesn't mean that you have to code it to increase the chance after every kill, that's just how percentage works - Just check your old mathbooks from school. BUT with that said there IS a chance to kill it 20k times without getting the loot but that is a totally different kind of calculation...
Anyhow I think the chance is to low however it works...

How I'd love to. But I'm stuck. I can't grind enough. My heroes reach around level 130 currently. To progress, I'd need the next Slime College Graduate Level, which costs 6m SC. Current max is only 3.16, and so my gold is capped (incl. Dark Ritual boni) at 189k, which doesn't allow me to get past approx. 1 TVG/s for gathering resources, which gets me to only 100 QaVG resources for the skill table after several days of grinding, which in turn doesn't let me progress past area 6-5, which in turn doesn'T allow me to level my heroes further, which ... you get the point.
> ps2) Why do you care about the deathpider core? It only grants bonus in puritifaction speed, which isn't important at all.
That's not true. I need a deathpider core to evolve Sticky Silk Stick, which increases drop chances and is therefore vital for crafting. I'm stuck at level 10 for months now!
> I recommend to only care about the golem core, which gives you the MP regen.
I have all the cores from the other challenge bosses (and used them in Dark Ritual), only the second deathpider core is missing (I think it is the second, because in Dark Ritual only Fury, Worker Power, Bank Cap and Profiency are still locked). I got the other cores within a day or so, the deathpider core is missing for months now!
Cores in my inventory:
Fairy Queen
Golem
Slime King

The sticky stick isn't that great. Consider that 5% drop chance means 5% more of everything...minus all the times you hit the drop limit (which is a lot), so actually only 5% more of the rare items...which are hard to find anyway. You would need a lot of sticky stick evolutions to make it powerful, and trust me, most of us who have killed Monty didn't bother with it.
I think you're going down a rabit hole here. You don't need the deathpider core for anything of real importance. Also, heroes can be taken higher than 130 by farming metal slimes in dungeon 1...it takes awhile, and that is also not really worth it except maybe when you're ready to take on Montblango (for the extra damage, and only if needed). I took myself past level 2300 on my first run by doing that. It really wasn't worth it though.
People telling you to farm the golem instead are giving good advice, and I would add focussing on other items (iron and hero sword, staff, cloak, and wing + slime stick + slime sword) over the sticky stick as being far more valuable.
Also, rebirthing to get your gold cap up. 350k should be good enough to kill Montblango.
Sucks that you still haven't been able to find a core after all that effort, but to be honest, your efforts would be better served elsewhere. If you're able to get to 6-5, you're getting close to the point where you'll be able to beat Monty, but spending all that time and energy on trying to slightly increase your drop bonus is taking your focus away from more meaningful tasks.

Strangely enough, your answer was kind of encouraging. So I will try to forget about that damn core. But just as a side note. After reading your answer I immdiately started a golem run. It was at level 11, so I started from there. The golem is a one hit kill for the warrior up until approx level 65, so it doesn't take long to reach level 78 (which is the max I currently can get). But, by the time I got to level 33 (so basically like 20 seconds or so), I got my next golem core... sigh.

Agree with Bahrul. Stick stick isn't good at all. +5% drop rate is the only 2 level differences of a challenge boss level. Leveling your character/slime bank would be much convenient for you.
And consider farming 4-2 overnight. It's the best source of the monster fluid, which is essential for almost all equipments. Wizard would be the best if its level is high enough. It only took 18sec for clearning with the area bonus, while angel took 24sec and warrior spent more than 30sec.
If you care about drop, fair set (Magical Fairy Wing + Fairy Boots) would be much better because it grants +10% movement speed. (i.e. 10% more gold and drops) at level 1 and much easier to obtain. And also slime sets -- it's the second best damange dealing source after the charge swing, and also the ranged attack.
ps) Custom range may increase the clearing speed -- melee skills wouldn't be activated at all if your first skill slot is ranged attack.

I always consider tips as being valuable, because they come from people who experienced these tips from their own games as being good. Therefore I am really thankful for all the tips of the latest posts here. I adopted to them. However, my progress hasn't changed much. It's awfully slow. For example, I mentioned running out of resources for weakening tinctures, and people assumed it was about black pearls. But black pearls don't give me headaches, the flame shards do. They come from red opponents and the chance is extremely low. I followed the tips to ignore drop chance increases via equipment, so I assume you all have the standard chance of 0.09 % of obtaining a flame shard, too. With this chance, I get approx 1 flame shard every 30 minutes. But I need 5 flame shards for one tincture - and the tincture may reduce the level anywhere between 1 and 100. The worst case would be a series of, say, 10 tinctures reducing by 1 level each. That's 50 flame shards (!) for a 10 level reduction of a boss. 25 hours of grinding for 10 level boss decrease! I can't afford to let my PC run 24/7, especially not just for a game. And I assume I'm not the only one. So how do you increase the amount of flame shards? What is the best place to grind for them? Some specific area? Or some of the dungeons? What to equip? What potions to use? Etc.
I know this has shifted from the original core question, but the thread shifted long ago, so I think I can get help in this thread as well, instead of creating a new one. Thanks!

As far as flame shards go Tulamide, I haven't really ever run out of them myself although i do tend to leave the game running while I'm at work. However if you are willing to do this try doing angel distraction on the slime dungeon after catching about 30-50 of the red slimes. This bumps the drop rate of the flame shards up a bit before doubling it to nearly a .2% chance which is a lot more reasonable.
Excepting the cores, which agreed are ridiculous the best way to get low drop rate items is through methods similar to this. good luck man.

Flame Shards could be a problem if you don't have replication - multiply your drops - and skill slot upgrades - let you have one more drop per slot per second.
The way to farm then is in the dungeons, if you have 0 rebirths the slime dungeons will be the best choice - you will be able to upgrade your slime sword too. If you already have 1 rebirth you might want to run Bat Dungeons to upgrade the Bat Cape.

Also I dont know how practical this might be for you but I just unlocked on of the 100k alchemy items at the 10 or 100L tier and it doubles drop rate for several minutes so that might help too.
