You are free to take this game in whatever direction you wish, but if it's a huge departure from the direction it was going before, don't be surprised when people say things like "I'm glad I didn't spend any kreds on this" and "I feel like I have completely wasted the two months I spent on this."
This latest update is ridiculous. The new boss is ridiculous. Suddenly requiring arcade skills to beat any aspect of this game when you didn't before is ridiculous.
So again, you can do whatever you want with this game, but word of advice - pick one major fucking genre and stick with it.
(I have a signficant gold cap. I can auto through 7-3 from rebirth in lucky stance. I have significant atk/def/mdef. This isn't a matter of 'get stronger' for a boss that is unlocked via 5-4)

Game going more p2w and NOT IDLE/incremental (as you said its ACTIVE now, captures/bosses), played also about 2 month, QoL is SO expensive, yes you can save via quests, but to buy 1-2 upgrades need wait 1-2 weeks...not saying about global skills.. month!
Have only 4 base and 2 global slots, even not in octo challenge, cant beat new boss (after 15min of try get 1 time red bar to ~5%). And after all my pain, after reinc almost all starts from 0. So you start all that massive resources farm, a little bit faster. And...?

Good point. I have 5 skill slots and 3 globals.
1/3 red bar filled is the best I've done. This is not fun or challenging. This is bullshit.
If you want to make an arcade game, go fucking make a new arcade game. Don't make THIS an arcade game.

Hapiwaku seems like a nice little studio. Like in listening to the community, not sacrificing long term value for short term success, etc. Not implementing features for the sake of features is a basic of game development (and I am one of the guys who like the tower defense element in that Assassines Creed game ^^). I do not want skill checks in my idle games. And I definitely do not want them to be that hard. If I manage to fill the red bar of Montblango once that should suffice.
That's a strike again for a pretty good game, first one for me was that challenge they made solely for scripters.

I've beat it 7 hour ago,Fire Ball+Fire Storm the bar will fill up pretty fast when he turn to spike ball, you only need dodge the yellow attack the other attack did 0 damage, but I agree you cuz reincarnation is a important element for the game,it's should not block people who don't like or want to play arcade game.
And even you fill up the bar if you can't kill him in 10-15 secs his def will back(but remove all landmines on screen) though Idk why his attack bar stop after first freeze.
I can reached 7-1 I can use fan swing 1 hit 5-4's boss, but this guy need 20-25 charge swing to beat it,the hp is too high for a feature unlock at 5-4

That's a good point, is there some sort of refund policy like Steam has it?
I know that some guys contacted kreds@kongregate.com, but how would you argue?
Obviously it is hard for developers to do something against cheating players but adjusting the whole games progression system to them and having whole scripting challenges with prizes is something kong should acknowledge, isn't it?

Same here, you shouldn't have to keep a game on 24/7 - since there is no offline gains - or script it to achieve reasonnable targets.

I'm not sure why the devs ever made a competition aimed at script/macro/CEers to award them, they're not the ones buying epic coins....
Maybe they will remove the competition reward deadline and let the people play casually on their own time. Competition/Highscore is the dumbest thing on Kongregate

I'm not at this point of the game, but people are saying they are able to survive the boss better with a +11 Golem Shield.
So yeah, maybe it's not exactly the layout of the boss, but not having the right gear to survive.

Golem Shield doesn't help. I had lvl 23 Golem Shield and despite whether I equipped it or not, the boss's yellow bar attack(the projectile leaves a patch of sludge on ground) took off about 80% of my life
From what I see, there's no way to win other than playing a bullet dodge arcade game. If you see the boss charge up a yellow bar, run away to edge of the map and wait till he shoots that projectile, then move so that you can keep middle of the map clear. Also keep the screen on alchemy and use a lot of hp pots

Level 23 =/= +11
A level +11 shield should be level 274 and require 1264 robust bones just for the levels not counting evolutions.

A lot of his attacks are just percentage-based. The yellow one is. The green phase, where he goes spiky is too, and that one is very fast.
The brown balls might be? But with sufficient health pool and regen and defense you can ignore / heal from the spam brown. (so God Bless is good for that.)
I've done it twice now, and it was much easier when I had a huge health pool. The percentage attacks did the same percent, but the brown ones were ignorable with a big pool.

you can survive the boss AND crack the boss without a +11 shield if you setup right. also you can easily stack your ATK +2000% just from level 1 alchemy spam..
**This game is very open for min max play.** i did 2 Montblango in 32d play time with a +5 shield, and i consider myself did wasted ALOT of idle time in zone 1-1 when FAV map haven't been introduced.
5-4 is a good point to "showcase" the boss, I do like the like showcase of a wall which you have to work for, instead of a boss where you just oneshot and bring you to rein.

Yeah this got me to give up the game... it was the 24/7 need to be logged in that got me worn down, but the need for scripting + frustrating arcade game just makes this not fun anymore.

Constant whining about a "need for scripting" is honestly getting old. Plenty of people who didn't script have reincarnated now because they played the game efficiently or actively. A lot of idle games create new content beyond where a lot of their casual playerbase is because it gives them something to aim for but gives the people who pushed harder some new content to not keep them bored. Maybe mont was slightly too powerful, but it's hardly balanced around scripting. The more you deal with mont the more you see that is is basically just a stat check. Unless you can facetank all but the yellow and spiky green form you will see it as an arcade game. As soon as you build enough defense to survive that it becomes easy and then it's just a matter of a dps check with minor area denial mechanics like bosses in any game, not just arcade games. They really should just move mont behind 6-8 or something because people are trying far too early and then wondering why they are failing and then immediately jump to "the game is balanced around scripters" instead of seeing the real problem that the devs just didn't understand how impossible he is when you just beat 5-4.

The issue for me isn't that Montblango is unbeatable, but that 5-4 is about the right spot to unlock reincarnation. Incremental games usually allow you to make decent progress in a play session. In the middle of area 5, things start to really slow down. As someone who's played a lot of incrementals before, that's where I expected a new progression mechanic.
The fact is, the DPS required to unlock reincarnation will get you into the later parts of area 6, but takes longer to obtain than all of the progression to get past 5-4 the first time. Decent arcade skills can make it seem like you have a hope of beating Montblango when you still lack the DPS, which feels bad. This being the first fight in the game actually requiring manual movement (and turning animations back on, for those of us with slower computers) is actually not the biggest problem.

Mont was the breaking point for me, the amount of mindless repetitive grinding I would have to continue to do to even have a chance of new progression options just seems like a chore rather then any fun. Definitely regretting kreds spent and will be reducing my rating of the game.

I farm on my pace, I discover new stuff on my pace, I get into new areas on my pace... anyway, I play this game on my pace. I think you guys need a FPS, a real competitive game.
When I want some kind of competition, I play counter strike, some FIFA, CoD, etc :) I don't see this game as P2W... there's nothing to win here. Maybe Pay to Get first and brag on kongregate forums hahahahah
Anyway, let's have fun.

By "scripting", do you mean "automatic mouse clicker software" such as GS Auto Clicker?

Probably he means AHK - but any software would work as long you know how to script.
AHK was used to fully automate Clicker Heroes.
But to be honest the game doesn't need any scripting at all to progress, if you do all mission until the wall (or at least all you can do easy) will probably give you enough resources to upgrade your items and even RP. I'm with 16 days game play and everything, but my golem shield (it require me to let my game AFK in a dungeon to farm flame shards and I'm still doing the missions) is at the level recommended to kill monty. If I did let the game run 24h I would have killed monty already.
