At the Forge, you have two following options: Craft, and Upgrade.
Upgrade contains Enhance and Awaken.
*Enhancing* works in the following manner: each item can be enhanced 20 levels per Awakening level (star lvl):

*Awaken* allows you to increase the Awakening level of an item. You can only do it once the item has reached its maximum enhancing level.

So leveling up past character level 50 does nothing at all? That makes owl pretty bad pet. Best to stick to Boss 1 and 2 tier 1 to improve odds of getting hare.

Character bonuses max at level 50. Other stats keep increasing.

It's mainly to make it easier to find where I should go if I want to farm specific crafting jewels. So if I only wanted to farm T4 jewels without mixing in lower tier monsters, I'd know that zones 1-7 only have W4 monsters, but zones 8-15 have some mix of lower tier monsters, and then 16-23 are only W4 monsters again, etc.
