I've been playing the game for a bit, but the truth is, after a lost save, I restarted it, and in 3 days of semi-active playing maxed most of it up.
I have a few challenges left, from the green ones, but just 2 researches left, of 1 and 2 mil respectively. I even bought the useless 30 mil new tier research.
Some people may go for 100% completion, but most won't. Once you kinda max everything and there is no new goal you simply drift away. I still check every other day for an update, I wish to go on to a new type of prestige, but nothing.
What kept people playing, Realm Grinder, NGU idle, Trimps, was the sheer ammount of content you could not get to easily. I love this game, but it does need more content, possibly through either a new currency or a new mini-game set in it.
Is it great? Deffinetley, gave it 5 stars. Does it have potential? Yes. Is it replayable... well uh, once you kind of hit the ceiling, you have to wait and see if a new floor gets put on.
Love it though, so hope more is coming.

Based on what you are saying, it sounds like you haven't unlocked the current endgame content yet. Look at achievements 5-21 and 1-22.

It's definitely been fast paced compared to some other idlers out there. I only just started playing about two weeks ago and I just finished my first cost++ challenge about a day ago. Spent the last week or so in a grind where almost everything had been completed and it was just a matter of waiting until I could handle that challenge. I don't know about you, but I've got the first 5 challenges all at 75/75 completions, 6th challenge at 18/25, 7th challenge at 14/25, and 8th challenge at 1/25.
You do end up in an even more massive end-game grind by that point, though. One of the achievements that the previous response mentions unlocks 5 new researches. The first of those has 100 levels that cost 10M obtanium per level for +1% obtanium found. The other four of those each have 250 levels that cost 10M, 20M, 30M, or 40M obtanium per level for +1 max level to each of the first four runes. The other achievement unlocks another 20 researches, with costs getting even more insane than the previous 5 end-game researches. One of those unlocks a 5th rune for 250M obtanium. The others cover things like more obtanium bonuses, some rune exp bonuses, some multiplier / accelerator / boost bonuses, some stuff that will tie into the upcoming new feature (or reset tier or whatever it is), and a way to get more quarks.

Thanks for the responses. Well I didnt get to the c++ challenge, got bored grinding, and kind of stopped. I guess I could really milk the content out, but there doesnt seem to be significant progress in those, just a few more checkboxes

cost++ challenge unlocks a new reset tier (not yet implemented) and 20 new researches.

Being on the cutting edge of a new game is both frustrating and fun. Sure, if you go start playing Realm Grinder you have a lot to do for a long time. That game is also 5 years old.
I have no idea how much content Platonic has planned out, or how much time they actually have to work on the game day-to-day, but it's really hard to make so much content that a person playing from the beginning doesn't catch up to your current ceiling. I'm checking in to this game daily to keep my progress going until the next update, but in a strange way I kind of envy the people who happen upon the game 6 months from now. If the developer keeps going the way they have been, it will be a rewarding experience for them.
