Armor Games is and has always been the biggest concurent of Kongregate (actually, Armor Games was way bigger then Kongregate at one point, so the opposite is probably more accurate), it has upsides and downsides compared to Kongregate, but it's still a very decent alternative. For idle games specifically, Armor Games seems to be puting a little bit less focus on them then Kongregate, and (from my subjective observation) has had fewer exclusive idle games then Kongregate, although this will most likely change following Kongregate's announcement.

I never did like Armorgames. The selection of games on the front page seemed like they were of a lower quality and the layout of the site itself felt off somehow.

I definitely dislike Armor as well. Their unskippable, unmutable preloaders on anything they sponsor are reason enough not to give them my business. Plus their handling of Dawn of the Dragons was so incredibly subpar...
Newgrounds has effectively made my "no" list as well during the last days of Dawn of the Dragons - the only platform that had a half decent reaction then was Kong. Of course now they're pulling almost the exact thing they prevented on the game then.
I fear there won't be much left to get a fix on quick puzzles or an interesting new idler tho.

Kongregate, Newgrounds, and Miniclip (the other big flash game site I remember that no one here has mentioned) always felt... cheap compared to Kongregate. They're very much "lol play microgames" to me, with their overwhelming bright colors and interfaces that haven't been updated in over a decade. In comparison, Kongregate was a nice balance of polish yet still fun. It's really a shame.
Reddit isn't bad, I found a few incremental games I liked there, but it's harder to jump on new things since reddit naturally prioritizes certain types of post, and it's not really a place to actually host anything. Armor will probably be where a lot of people from here end up, even if they are a bit obnixious.

Are they Kidding me? It seems that they want to Shut off everything I Like and Use Kongregate.
If they really do these Changes, I am out of here!
Kongregate got big because of the User Created Content and not because Kongregate made Games themself!
The most Played and best Games here are NOT from Kong!
Maybe they should Split Kongregate into a Site- and a Gamedeveloping-Team.
This announcement was the Start of the End of Kongregate!

Their own games aren't even designed to stand on their own; they exist to boost the platform. Killing the platform to focus on them is just straight dumb. When will all these game companies stop trashing their products to chase the mobile market?
