Hello, as a result of the recent announcements (and yes, I am sure that every developer is making this sort of post right now) I am going to be shifting course towards long-term plans for the game, and how it will be monetized in the future.
Let's get this out of the way first: **I do not anticipate abandoning Kong unless the game chats are removed for Synergism.** If this happens, I would be quite surprised given that it is probably in the top 3 used game chats on the website. This is always a possibility though as their qualifications of "top 20 games" are a little vague- these could very well just be Kongregate published games.
Now, as for monetization, I'm taking this a different way than originally planned.
**Instead of charging for a lump sum of quarks, I will instead be selling Quark Generators in the near or distant future.** Basically, these will be one-time purchases, probably $5/$10/$20, which will increase automatic Quark generation on exports. This is the best way I can go about it in my opinion, as selling the currency directly leads to balancing issues and pay-to-win mechanics.
Additionally, I will open up a paypal in the near future for people who just wish to donate to the development of the game. I will **never** require donations and they will not provide any gameplay effects, it is purely for those who do not want to buy quark generators or want to donate a different denomination.
Lastly, I should answer: where is this game going to go in the future? Well, I have plans to adopt Github as the primary **web-host** for the game, which can be found here:
https://pseudonian.github.io/SynergismOfficial/
This is the official github host of the game; as of July 1 this game is no longer exclusive to Kongregate, in part because I don't know the future of this website, and I would rather have the game be available and easily updated than not.
**Steam is a definite possibility,** although I will be taking a bit to develop the game more before I devote to move to the "big league" platform. The game will likely undergo several more updates and a balance revamp before I even consider it, but this will be the only place to get a standalone, non-web version of the game. It will feature the same monetization style that will likely be on Kong sometime soon. That is, **I will not sell quarks directly but as an improvement to passive generation.**
Thank you for reading this, and thank you even more for playing the game.
- Platonic

I hope that Steam will not at some point become the only way to play however - I do not endorse their business practices any more than the recent "move" by Kongregate. As long as we can have a web platform (or, heck, even a direct download for offline personal use), of course I hope you will someday make it to the big leagues :)

I will continue to play here on kong for now but will definitely go to the github if necessary...

I'm kinga concerned about what Kongregate will do after Flash becomes discontinued. The entire website was built on flash games, after all.
I'm imagining them moving towards other ventures like Kartridge or hosting HTML games.

You didn't see the big announcement then? Kongregate is basically shutting down.

It appears that Kongregate isn't very open to keep the chat's up for the game, and so after July 22 there will not be any chat rooms for this game on Kongregate.
That being said, I will still upload v1.011 to this website, and maybe even a couple new versions, but I will slowly be transitioning to Github entirely. The export/import function should work as normal and you can always import to github whenever (tested to work almost all the time)
Thank you all for playing the game <3

You could take it to Kartridge also. A dev platform for Kong similar to Valve's Steam Platform. Probably not correct though. I was ready for flash games to go away, not that I mean that in a bad way. It's just that I've heard they were going to do that for a very long time.

I would definitely aim for Steam seems a lot of the idle devs have made their way there (NGU Idle, ItRtG, Idle Wizard and Supply Chain Idle off the top of my head) though GitHub works too if you are apprehensive of going to Steam straight away for fear of a lack of quality or amount of content... I'm just glad that a lot of these idle games have easy exportable saves making migration to other platforms pretty easy... this is one of my favourite recent idle games so I'm looking forward to seeing how it develops regardless of where it is.

Just visiting the thread to say thanks for this awesome game. I would really like to spend a few bucks on it.

EDIT: It appears as Kongregate is keeping the Synergism chats after all. That's amazing news!
You can still play on the github link if you wish. Due to kong keeping chats, I will continue to update on kong as well!

It's sad that Kong, once an awesome site, decided to basically discontinue itself.
It's absurd that 22 days ago, they added a new currency and new "stickers" - a whole new system that basically required tons of work and they just choose to get rid of that.
Kong was a great platform for sharing games that players loved, especially idle games, with a badge system that helped you discover new games.
It's great to see that Kong decided to keep the chats of Synergism, to help others with the game.
The forums of this game will sadly be discontinued, but that is replaced by Discord.
With Kong closing, I will no longer be able to access games like Anti-Idle, which makes me sad but sadly it cannot be avoided.
Thank you Kong for being an amazing community, and especially you, Platonic, for creating one of the greater games on Kongregate that I liked very much.
Please continue to update this amazing game.
P.S. You'd however need some donations before moving to Steam, as Steam requires a hefty $100 fee per uploaded game.

Congratulations @Platonic! You now have the following banner above your game (bold is mine):
This Chat Is Not Closing
Kongregate recently announced some changes. Many chat rooms will be closing, but the chat room(s) for this game will **not** be closing. You will be able to continue playing and chatting normally here.
Seems the decision on which chats to keep open fluctuates based on game activity and ratings. More people playing, chatting, and rating highly seems to determine which games get to keep their chat, and it doesn't look like it is fixed.

Thanks for getting this up on Github Platonic! This is one of the most entertaining and well paced incrementals I have played in a while, you nail the paradigm shift factor that is key to a lot of my favorites (Kittens, Mine Defense, Realm Grinder).
Kong is so bloated I had to use some pop out frame hacks to get your game running nicely, the Github version is exactly what I was hoping to find. Will def be tossing you some bucks once that is an option :)

hi platonic, thanks for nice game :)
regarding premium quark generation upgrades, if you go this way, it needs upgrades in offline time saving = e.g. research or quark update for +Xh offline time saving, best would be for up to 7 days or even 14 daysfor holidays offline.
because when someone is offline for longer then current offline timer, or cant play the game every day or goes away for weekend or vacations, they will lose quarks, e.g. i was offline for i think 5 days or so, and got just 150 quarks. and as i am more offline than online, i am losing more quarks than i gain.
also it needs some new cool quark updates to be motivated to earn more quards and make the premium quark upgrades interesting.
btw. will you introduce it here on kong? for kreds, and what if someone has e.g. bought the premium upgrades in kreds, and wants to play on github too, do you need to buy them everywhere?
thanks Jane
