so does this means i will never be able to get this?
i am very disappointed Kongregate, as I have been part of this community since it started and i always had the chance to participate in every promotion and lets say ‘collect the ticket’, but now you come and tell me this is only for USA residents.
All i have to say is that i am feeling a little betrayed here.
if its a free code at least there should be a way to get it without having to go to the stores, even if i have to complete a survey or something like that in the way.

Inb4 Topic gets locked for speaking out against Kongregate/Gamestop being completely biased towards America, because mods don’t like fact.
This promotion is by far the stupidest thing I’ve ever seen.
Ever.

I’ve been contemplating standing outside of my Gamestop while I’m on lunch break, asking people who are walking in if they could ask for Tyrant codes for me, so I can distribute them to people who don’t want to go to Gamestop/can’t.

Asking people to sign up for an account with name, email and phone number, then hand that over to you? Sounds like a low chance of success.

Please go back and read my post again.
I’m asking people to get those cards that have the codes to enter the sweepstakes with.

I got the promo code from my brother, he emailed it to me, it worked but i didn’t get the card!! apparently I have to be a rewards member?!? screw that

The cards they are handing out are only for the $10k contest. To get the Leonidas card you need a powerup rewards account which requires a phone number and email address.
EDIT: Thanks for the correction, redcastle

Actually, thats backwards. You need a power up account, and then link it to your kong account. Then you get the card. The “promo code” is only for the $10k contest.
I was already linked, as soon as I logged in, I got the card.

Lol. But i agree with MrRubix it just doesn’t work with my schedule. I don’t mind doing anything online, but I just can’t get time to go out to a gamestop.

Excuse me for meddling but you are all wrong. The way I understand it works is the following:
1- Go physically to a Gamestop store inside the US.
2- Pay $10,000 to become a member of the Power-Up club.
3- You will be given a code.
4- Enter the given code for a chance to win the promo card.
So what is all the fuss about? If you are reading this post it means you have access to internet, a computer and a roof over your head.
Take all that, sell it and PRESTO. You now can afford an airplane ticket to the US and you should have at least $10,000 to join the club.
You’re welcome.

Probably wrong, but isn’t Greg Canadian?

Going to the store is the main reason they do the promotion in the first place. To get you to come to the store (advertising costs to make up for the reward they give few at the end).

Woah woah woah. You have it totally wrong. (except the first step.)
1. Go physically to a Gamestop store in the US
2. There are two options:
2.1: get a FREE power up rewards card and activate it. OR
2.2: pay $14 to upgrade to power up PRO. (It’s worth it.)
3. You ask for the card and they give it to you for FREE.
4. Enter the code on Kongregate and play the game. You’ll be entered to WIN a $10,000 gamestop gift card.

Props to you for one of the most clever replies I have ever read on a forum. Bonus Points for the fact that people tried to correct you \>\< Well Done!

It’s not stupid at all. o-o You just think it is because you don’t live in the US. It’s all a matter of perspective. This is simply a way to get people to visit GameStop stores, nothing more. It’s an advertising scheme with a nice bonus at the end if you’re lucky. GameStop owns Kongregate now, so they call the shots, and Tyrant is the highest rated MMO on the site, so it was naturally picked. You (plural, as in everyone not within the US) being butthurt won’t change anything, and it certainly doesn’t make this promotion stupid. :3

Anyone willing to do a favor and type up or email a free code to someone who needs it by grabbing a few of the cards from Gamestop?

We could, but if you don’t live in the US, then you can’t win the prize. Also, you can’t get Leonidas from the code.
