My current reactor at region, i'm somewhat proud of it but I feel like it can be greatly improved.
Main issue is that the generators nearest to the western heat cell overheats fast. I tried looking for a new spot for it but it's difficult to find one. I could just keep buying gen max heat upgrades, but they're getting expensive. Next upgrade will take 20 minutes to obtain (not including running costs) but the upgrade price more than doubles with each purchase.
After next gen max water upgrade, i will put an isolation in the empty tile. I removed that because adding it will overwhelm the reactor. This is the most i can get with three heat cells as of now.
Current energy production: 255m/tick or 1b/sec
Current time needed to save up to buy next map: about 27 hours (not including running costs)
Current problems: gens need more max water, water shortage in south east
If you would find it easy to load my data and make + test your sugguested improvement, you may ask me for my save file. Just remember to save your save data before loading mine.

I'm not very good at criticism but I can show you something to strive towards. I threw this reactor together after reading your post using all of my advanced researches and upgrades (and a continuous income from my other maps of about $650 trillion per tick. At the point I'm at (Mainland), I'm putting almost everything towards research trying to get the Research 3 building.

Oh dear, I forgot to upgrade the heat of the Thorium cells. It shouldn't read $540 billion per tick, it should read $1.65 Trillion.
