I have a question what about War Metal Tyrant? Is it ever comeback? I miss times where we fighting other factions... ;/

Given that it used Flash and the general age of the codebase, my understanding is that the game would need to be rebuilt from the ground up, which isn't very feasible.

WMT:

Tyrant Unleashed:

Sad but true. I'm not into programming so I can't argue how hard it would be to make it work but the truth is that devs shut it down because they couldn't monetize it enough and needed players to move to TU, so even if it was technically possible, practically it wouldn't be.

Those were some epic times.
The game was far superior in about everything, among others by balance and tournaments.
unfortunately it probably did't bring enough whale revenue. I still don't get who are those people who spend 10.000 dollars on a mobile game. They can't be hikikomori or NEETS, since those have no cash.
so these have to be people earning huge bucks. But I wonder why such amazing and scucccesfull (rich) people, would bother with such a mediocre game (compared to real , bought, games, with actuall gameplay and content).

Well this is one time the 'old game' was objectively better in pretty much every aspect. Live arena, better guild wars, better raids, better conquest, more cards, more strategy, more diversity, less grind, less P2W, more features... Tyrant Unleashed has, well... Bigger buttons, I guess?

Hands down one of the greatest games of any kind of all time and it's not even close. I only play TU because it vaguely gives me an approximate but diluted feeling of the good ole wmt days. Sigh
+1 for nostalgia

Well, a '72 'vette is generally better than a ~'94 riced out Civic. RWD and a V8 with significantly more power and torque. Not to mention that they're dead sexy when clean. It's an actual performance machine from a bygone era as opposed to some tarted-up compact econobox.

That's probably the biggest factor, and the biggest problem. The devs realized that there are people willing to shell out absurd amounts on games just so they can be number one (or close to number one) on *something,* and started catering to said rich time-wasters.
The model WMT used was immensely better for free players (although I like it more for quite a few other reasons), but TU's spending modal makes them more money.
Granted, there probably are ways to please both groups, and that might be best from even an economic standpoint - most of the players who play will be free-to-play, and thus so will the majority of people with the potential to praise the game and recommend it to friends - who themselves might spend money on the game. But if most players are dissatisfied with the game than it's not likely to draw in too many new members. At least, that's my hypothesis.
Sadly, I'm not sure how much the devs make from Kongregate's ad revenue - that's another incentive to appeal to free players because the ads give the site owners money regardless of whether a player actually pays, thus giving an incentive for a larger, happier fanbase.

For the first 50 buffs, devs should buff cards that still carry wmt art. Just not recent ones, like wasteland garroter whoops I meant Slick Skimmer ;)

**You nailed it.

The only reason to play the only so called mobile freemium game I will ever play. Otherwise the whole concept of these "games" is a disgrace and entire generation of children have their image of gaming twisted by these whaling abominations.

Damn right, pretty much everyone enjoyed WMT infinitely better than this game, so let's bring back the WMT cards at least to bring us some kind of illusion... I think it ain't that much to ask for, there're a lot of old box cards as well, e.g. Longshot - this card should be reworked to have Refresh at least, that Inhibit/Pierce abomination is a disgrace and this one:

Needs to get its name and rarity straight.

Mine was Cleanse I think :P
Chaos was amazing too, alongside with simple Mimic it was a true P2W hammer - you didn't need to have top deck, just pack some Chaos and watch enemy deck destroy itself.

This was overall a very good free to play gamewas overall a very good free to play game. This game was ruined by a faction called better world which violated the terms of service badly, setup an account sharing ring and sucked the life/competive nature of the game. This is in turn drove both new and old players away from the game. Bama4life, Philospher and Seandoughtry86 spear headed this effort to cheat in a very organized fashion, even creating an alliance of factions to protect their interest and ranking in the game.

1. They **hate** Fear, what a shame.
2. It is more like we lack players capable of making such site.

Fear was an alternative way to defeat P2W decks, no wonder they got rid of that.
As for fansite, WMT was a game players were actually passionate about, it was such an amazing game that people put all the work and time into making that fansite... Even now somebody actually revived the fansite purely for nostalgia reasons: http://sobabo.com/kg/
Meanwhile Tyrant Unleashed is just another game where you either pay or quit, there's really nothing to it that would make anyone put an extra effort to it... Back when the game was young and people actually believed this game is a successor to WMT, MarshalKylen made a wiki: http://tyrantunleashed.wikia.com/wiki/Tyrant_Unleashed_Wiki
However soon people realized this game is but a parody of WMT with zero features and absolute P2W, so people lost interest over time and so did MK when he was hired by Synapticon.
These days the only remaining players are us old folks who keep playing for the guild and stuff... Any newbies trying this game usually quit sooner or later once they realize there really isn't much to do here unless you spend cash, so there really isn't much use for a site like that anymore.

While I can see the reason to stick to TU (why bother bringing back a game that clearly wasn't making the money TU did, and in fact actively competes with it?), I don't think the code itself would be the issue, since TU uses a very similar game engine logic-wise (after all the TU optimizer was really just the WMT optimizer tweaked to adapt to TU rules) and thus you could simply just adapt the TU engine for WMT rules.
