Hi all,
I'm an lvl 53 assault right now in my first play ever.
I got a red mixmaster and it's my main weapon. It comes overclocked, and with another two augments, 10 slots. I was going to make it deadly, but the last augment I'm not sure.
- Skeletonized sounds good, right now i have 40% penalty bonus and I feel I need a bit more. My vest right now has 0% movement, I could always switch to a rubicon and get 18% more, but would lose armor.
- Adaptative sounds good, but I always think that I can switch to a secondary weapon with thermal or physical damage.
- Capacity is more than enough, and reload time is ok to me also. Biosynthesis I don't think its worth it
- That leaves me with piercing and pinpoint.
So, I could use some advice from you. With my gameplay, this will be my main weapon for a long time, I just want to get it right.
Thank you all.

i would go with adaptive if you plan to use it for nightmare mode or bossing. (or if you are just lazy like me and dont want to switch guns for energy resistant zombies)
if you have have allot of points in the critical hit skill pintpoint would be very useful. if you dont have 20+ skill points in critical hit than pinpoint is a waste.
i think piercing would be a waste on mixmaster, it already has a pierce of 3 and it is hard to get zombies lined up so extra piercing isnt as effective.
capacity is also pretty good, it gives you more free HD ammo and keeps your gun firing longer
so to summarize....
for nightmare/all purpose use-deadly/OC/adaptive
for reliabilty/free ammo-deadly/OC/capacity
for a critical hit build-deadly/OC/pinpoint
i would avoid skeletonized and piercing because the 20% speed penalty is reasonable and 3 pierce is good enough already

Deadly/Overclocked/Adaptive is what you want on most full-auto guns that you find, and it's what you want for that Mixmaster too I think. In Nightmare, non-boss zombies with the 'Nightmare' tag resist everything 75%, so switching to a different weapon damage type does not help in such cases. And the effective difference in damage you deal between 75% and 35% resist (what resistant zombies end up with when you have Adaptive 10 on your gun), with all other parameters the same, is +160%. That's huge, and outweighs the benefits you would get from augs like Capacity or Pinpoint (even with 25 Crit Shot) for Nightmare mode I believe at your level.
Eventually, once you start acquiring and coring endgame black guns, your base damage gets high enough that you may no longer need Adaptive in such situations I gather, but for any suitable Red gun certainly DOA is the way to go.

Wow thanks for the answers to this post more than a year later - and I say this without any sarcasm.
In the meantime, as expected, I got to lvl 100 and got a nice black jagdfaust that I cored to the max but with biosynthesis to regain some life as I'm an assault.
Mixmaster remains one of my favourite guns, not in dps terms but... how can it fire two beams? magnets?
Really, thank you both for taking some time to respond.
