Just a note, when choosing between energizing Golden Clicks or Metal Detector, keep in mind Metal Detector affects the value of the Golden Clicks (and hence, you should energize Metal Detector, not golden clicks). > *Originally posted by **[ddueber](/forums/2737/topics/428565?page=1#posts-8390528):*** > > **Clickstorm** > Clickstorm: 10 clicks/second > Energize + Clickstorm: 20 clicks/second > > EDIT: Updated as of v0.11 I don’t think this is true any longer. I’ve tried Energize + Clickstorm + clicking madly, and I am still maxing at 19 clicks per second. I’m pretty much saving Energize for Dark Ritual only now. this shuch a bum i was going to put an auto clicker on energise and co back in a week then click dark ritual > *Originally posted by **[RobertsBoissiere](/forums/2737/topics/428565?page=2#8611516)**:* > Just a note, when choosing between energizing Golden Clicks or Metal Detector, keep in mind Metal Detector affects the value of the Golden Clicks (and hence, you should energize Metal Detector, not golden clicks). > > So, I realize this is a super old thread; but since at least one other person visited this (jarjar626), I feel I should clarify the reasoning here. Metal detector has an additive bonus (+100%), while golden clicks is a multiplicative bonus (1%). This is something to keep in mind in the future with buffs, as a x2 bonus to these would give a different effect. Such as this one where Metal detector would buff to +200% meaning it becomes a x3 of all gold found, while golden clicks goes to 2% of gold per click. Now to the formula, when buffing metal detector and using regular golden clicks the gold income goes to: 3*(1 + 0.01*y)*x Where y is the number of clicks per monster and x is the amount of gold the monster will drop. When buffing golden clicks and using regular metal detector the gold income goes to: 2*(1 + 0.02*y)*x Where y is the number of clicks per monster and x is the amount of gold the monster will drop. Since x is multiplied against all values on each formula, we can drop that and compare them to each other: 3*(1 + 0.01*y) = 2*(1 + 0.02*y) which becomes 3 + 0.03y = 2 + 0.04y 1 = 0.01y y = 100 So, these two different buffs are equal each other when a monster takes 100 clicks to die, any amount of clicks over 100 means golden clicks is the better choice. OP used 6 seconds as a general rule if a user can click around 6 times a second on his/her own and use clickstorm (100/16 = 6.25 seconds). Way late in the game, users will have several autoclickers in addition to clickstorm meaning you could easily be performing 30-60 clicks per second making golden clicks the better option since monsters are generally going to take longer than 3 seconds to die, and at 6 seconds it's an obvious choice. ;tldr - Early game you can buff either metal detector or golden clicks without much difference (go with the 6 second rule from OP), later on buff golden clicks.
