I easily get to nexus IV in about 30 minutes, but then it’s waiting time. Sure I can shave off about half an hour with some lepis, but that’s it.
Any input?

i’m sure someone could make a function to find out the optimum number of lepis to maximize the decrease in time in terms of energy spent, cus if u make too many, they are not efficient and your time just goes up, then it is just a matter, of whther u have mutation(i know it is quite likely but…)
then one can estimate the necessary time to the first nexus,(like what 20 secs, faster if u have an autoclicker probably)then 2nd and 3rd nexus are pretty much instantaneous if am correct, then it is about maximizing the energy from lepidoptera after the 4th nexus

I tried in increments of 100 before, and I believe the optimum is about 600 leps, with a time of 8:36.

IIRC, you have 8333 energy after you build Nexus IV. If you then want to get Nexus V as fast as possible, you need to buy 565 lepi, and then you’ll wait 30599 seconds (8:29:59). There’s no way to get it in less than that. I’m assuming of course fully mutated lepi.
However, that’s not really what you want. If you buy some more lepi, you’ll take slightly more time for Nexus V but you’ll have more lepi when you get it, so you’ll be overall better off. I could model the optimal number of lepi, but it’s a bit trickier.

You have 8000 energy after building the fourth nexus. The optimal number of lepidoptera, independent of the mutagen you’ve put into them, is sqrt(50D – 250000) – 500, where D is the energy increase required for the fifth nexus, so we get an optimal number of 572 lepidoptera. If the mutagen give you 100% improvement in energy production, this gives a time of 30905 seconds, or 8:35:05.
But taking into account the point about being better off having more lepidoptera when you buy the fifth nexus, and since you’ll need to spend at least 350k energy after buying the fifth nexus (including the energy spent to actually ascend), it’s actually better to buy the maximum of 800 immediately, and the maximum of 1000 immediately after the fifth nexus. And in fact those aren’t even optimal values, but calculations on the basis of two button presses are much easier than assuming you can hover over the “Buy 1 lepidoptera” button for a few hours.

But if we do assume that… And that you can buy fractional lepidoptera… You can model the lepidoptera over time with an expression involving Lambert’s W function. Using the data that you reminded me (8000 energy after N4, 10000 after N5), I completed the model and figured out that optimally, after you build N4, you need to max out lepi for 9637.88 seconds, at which point you’ll have 1762.38 lepi. Then wait 26977.46 seconds to get N5. All in all it took you 36615.34 seconds (10:10:15.34) to get from N4 to N5, but after that (with the 10000 bonus) you’ll have 2762.38 lepi – that’s the fastest you can get to this point.

Do these calculations take crystals into account? If you time your Upgrades and Expansions appropriately, you get an extra 500 energy every 30 minutes, on top of what your Nexuses and Lepidoptera give you.

you should save your crystals for the start of each ascension
