OE 4 is under development but still many aspets are not decided yet. Here we may gather some information about it. This topic is not official by any means.

Stuff we already know almost for sure:
- Ships and game will be 3D. This is mainly to let ships generate modular from its components.
- The in match gameplay will remain close to the one from OE3. Top down view, 2D playground.
- There are plans for a metagame with factions and team benefits, merging campaign and multiplayer.

I think it would be cool if you could select and move units, and to be able to target enemy units. I don’t know how easy it would be to integrate, seeing as the maps as of now are medium sized at most. Not much room for strategic movement. The biggest issue with OE3 I have as of now, is the ships just barrel straight into the enemy lines, firing at random ships. This, in essence, is why most of the multiplayer “strategies” revolve around using unbalanced ships, or out-spamming the enemy. This, of course, would be fixed with the introduction of bigger maps, and a more RTS like movement and targeting system.
TL;DR: It would be cool if the game were more strategy orientated, as opposed to spam and knowing-what-combos-to-use orientated.

More factions! More alien factions! As for directing ship movement…
That would be great but it could go wrong in so many ways. Like, a player with high range ships could just comand his ships to hover just out of range of turrets and bombard the enemy while building up, like the old spectre rush. Or a carrier could just send its fighters backwards until an insane number stockpiled. Or some dude guides the alien spores straight to the enemy base…
I think keeping some AI movement in the game is a good idea to prevent broken strats. Maybe a better idea is just targetting, like you have black hole weapons target caps only.

I would love if there could be trading in this game! I know some people think it’ll ruin the game but since there will be more untis i dont think it should be a huge issue ^^

i think it would be cool if you could group and move units, this would add to the stratigic factor of the Obiterate Everything series

The best thing OE4 could do, is to stay as simple and easy to play as OE3 is now.
Complexity is fine if there is a reason you need it, but just gets in the way if it’s there simply for the sake of being there.
Some form of trading between players would be nice, but not essential.
The ability to give production docks a rally point would be quite useful.
But the ability to directly control individual ships would be counter to the spirit of the game and introduce too much micromanagement.
DO NOT turn it into an RTS. Half the fun is just turning stuff loose and watching everything break.
Some means of slowing down the “race” to caps. Maybe the requirement to have some number of smaller docks before you can build a larger one?
Toning down the difficulty curve a bit.
There are supposedly hundreds of levels in OE3, but I’ve never even seen into double figures because I have no idea how to compete with an enemy that basically starts with meds and has caps a minute later.
Not everyone is going to be amazing at the game, so catering solely to those who are will reduce accessibility.
The random upgrades in OE3 are fun, but also a little frustrating.
I’m torn on whether it would be a good idea or not to have a more directed approach to upgrades….
eg: Collecting various items and “combining” them into units to upgrade them.
Might be too complicated an involved for something that already works okay though.

my suggestions for OE4:
1.Add Races that the players can choose from,like clouds or aliens
2.Add quests and missions and rewards
3.lessen the refreshing time of the store
4.lessen the lags :D
5.add more currencies
and last,dont use unity pls

oh,i got more suggestions:
7.add “king of the space” that the 5 players will going to fight each other to get the highest rank
8.add survival.every 10 waves,the player will receive plats(depends on you how many you want) and the enemies are getting stronger until they cannot hold it up
9.REMOVE the dark mastery’s homing mod,because its too hard for others to win the dark hole fights
10.add servers,in-game chats,and full screen mod :d

What some of us want:
Bigger capitals.
More playable factions. Yes, the OE2 facs playable is fine.
Add another class higher than capitals. You need five starports to build, and once you got it, the Command class Is unlocked, allowing you to have a mobile fortress, taking the fight with you, you can control it, and do your normal thing with it, which is OBLITERATE.
New gamemodes. – Survival, also known as stupid all around guarding, remove the pincer please! I dont want to be in between two OP facs!!

Team survival and versus survival “two players try to survive but can fight each other last man standing wins.” Also a lobby for multiplayer so people don’t have to rely on the chat. Some people are saying that we need bigger capitals but then it would only enhance the “race for the caps” as some people call it. Keep the random upgrade system it is very exiting to see what you get. Also try to nerf some broken stuff like freeze rounds. Solderq1 had a good point, don’t add the ability to control ships it would be too complicated. Thank you.

Something really unbalanced about OE3 is phalanx. Thanks to phalanx and its mobile cousin ,gladiator, a good deal of projectile shooting units are nullified.
I just had an idea: Phalanx, instead of firing a laser to shoot down projectiles, now has a 30% chance of nullifying all projectiles and lasers in the area (Phalanx retains original range). How this works with lasers is that any lasers hitting units within phalanx’s range are affected.
This resolves the issue of laser superiority in PVP, and also prevents phalanx from totally nullifying low-rof projectiles.
Gladiator (if there is an OE4 variant) has only a 15% nullification rate for fairness.
The phalanx “nullification zones” can overlap; for example two phalanxs (70%\*70%) have a 49% null rate when overlapped. To prevent too much overlap phalanx can not get rof/range mod.
I don’t think this is OP bc in OE3 multiplayer most people do not invest in too much phalanx anyways, and this new model needs lots of stackage to be any good.
Bringing this up because at the moment, two range range rof phalanxes can almost stop a 1 frame trident for a second or so. The difference in phalanx quality is unfair when it is quantity that should be emphasized.

You should make a building that transfers metal into energy and it would be called a infusion extractor it transfers 10 metal into energy per 1,5 sec i hope you will add that and it would take 1 space

OE1 was very cool and AMAZING!
but then…
OE2 changed everything!
and I was sad :(
I wish for the styles to be smoother similar to OE1 and for the game to be less complex than OE2/OE3
because I CAN’T KEEP UP WITH EVERYTHING!
also I’d like a level editor/map & fight [battle choice]
and making your own ship/building & being able to submit it!

Wish List:
1. Add MAX SHIP NUMBER Limit to stop from too lagging.( You have to delete something you don’t want or Build more space stations to increase )
2. Miner will mine only but not heading to enemy base try to kill it self ( Number Limit will help not getting too many of them )
3. Weapon like Black-hole maker or Power beam will aim enemy unit which has most HP in-range but not a miner
4. ADD more difference resource other then Energy and just mining rock to upgrade tech-lv and build stronger ships.
Like Money, Crystal, Metal, Chemical Bababa ( Gen though time , build space market and by destroy enemy’s ships or structures )
5. You can control your own ship when they Go (Way point?) and they won’t Distracted by a single miner.
