Hey,
I’m currently working on the sequel to Enigmata.
Just wondering if anyone has some ideas for new items/skills for the game?
Currently the sequel has 35 items, and 17 skills. I’m planning for a total of 45 items and 21 skills.
Let me know if you have any ideas you’d like to share.

Make ship smaller if possible. Make energy regenerate skill. Add more achievements. That’s all I can think of.

I think the gameplay area should be a bit bigger. You can keep all the original ship dimensions, just shrink them down a bit and expand. More room to move makes it more enjoyable. :)
As for various power-ups/skills, how about:
**EMP** : Disables enemy guns for a temporary amount of time.
**Magnetic Repulsion** : Pushes enemy ships away from you when used (one time use).
**Worm Hole** : Randomly jumps you foreward or backward in the game (could be useful, or harmful).
**Black Hole Grenade** : Generates a Black Hole that sucks up nearby ships (one time use).
**Time Flux** : Slows time/ships down, except for your ship for a temporary amount of time.
Just a few I could think of. Hope this helps!

Don’t make any more invisible enemies. Including ones that just blend in with the background really well.
And definitely make the ship smaller, or at least the hitbox.
A skill that reflects enemy attacks would be neat, or an item that has a % chance of doing the same.

Some things that could be improved in Enigmata:
No more invisible enemies
Cheaper shop stuff. A million for one upgrade is too much.

Wow, well surprisingly I’ve already done a lot of those changes, here are those that I’ve done already:
- Smaller Ships
- Energy Regenerate Item
- 45 Achievements this time O\_o May have gone overboard with that actually
- EMP Skill – I actually called it EMP too lol
- No invisible enemies (yet)
- There is a skill that reflects enemy attacks
Anyway, I like the gravity manipulation suggestions Zshadow suggested, I’ll work on those.
Sorry JohnSteel, there are still expensive items, however there are a lot more cheaper items this time.
I’ll think about a super-ship, however that might be overkill, I don’t want to make there be too much grinding
Keep the suggestions coming, I want to make the game into what the people want.
Btw some other new features:
- Brightness Setting
- Custom Controls
- Kongregate Save
- Text Save

I’m liking the changes! Should be fun! :)

Probably because of the double periods in your post. I think they multiply all your text. Use either 0, 1, or 3 periods, but not 2.

The first Enigmata really became too easy if you got lucky and got a few 3 million coin boxes. I’d like to see that altered somehow, but I’m not quite sure what would be best. They weren’t difficult really to destroy either. Are there going to be more of these or do you plan on getting rid of them? I wasn’t too big of a fan of them, but meh. :)

id like to see some more types of weapons. maybe new characters besides good ol neko talking to you. and maybe sumtin were you can do a mission together with a buddy. maybe a way you can switch missils and weapons on youre ship easily (if you add more than one weopon to the ships). oh could you make a strarting ship with a hammerhead kinda design that would look pretty cool. see ya!

oh and one more thing you should make an ability to for a limited time you could turn invisible and shoot at the same time (cant be bought but can be found as a powerup).

Yeah, theres not going to be a new 3 million coin – There are some new interesting ways to get gold though, I’ll leave that as a supprise.
I’m planning to make weapons work the same way as last game, where you collect them from powerups, they’re still temporary until you buy Infinite Bonus.

Have some enemy boss ships be playable, like huge things running through the level as an extra “lol wonderful” mode. Or, maybe even be unlockable and smaller versions of Enigmata 1 bosses, like Epic or something.

Hmmm…
Perhaps changeable weapons, not just add-ons to the ship.
I love the idea of unlockable bosses from Enigmata 1.
More purchaseables, less grinding.
More characters for story development.
Some way to make the enemies seem to _look_ like they belong to the same “faction” i.e. similar color / ships look more similar.
Maybe some way to customize the ship more (Other than a color that takes up an upgrade spot.)
An upgrade that upgrades crash damage done to enemies.
Upgrade that decreases crash damage done to self.
Upgrade that reduces “x” bonus duration.
Looking forward to next game.

Upgrading weapons and buying Tetra Fire or Double Fire etc. from the shop.
Make an Extreme mode for experienced players to rule… And last, I agree that smaller versions of bosses should be available if you finish Extreme mode(if there is one =P)?

Being able to buy the weapon bonuses would be a good idea.
Customizable key configuration(can’t remember if there was in Enigmata)
Autofire mebbe….?

I don’t know if this is just me, but was there any use for the speed-boost other than to just go faster? Maybe something else would be better, in my opinion.

There was a 3 million coin box?

I already got all the badges and achievements for Enigmata.
Make the bosses use laser attacks less often.

I liked having the difficult-to-destroy benign enemy that dropped the 3-million coin. Having it difficult to destroy keeps it from being found in earlier levels. But it was awesome once I was sick of grinding to get the better upgrades. If there’s not going to be the same thing, something similar should remain; I like taking a while to blow something up if I know it’ll be worth the effort.
Suggestions:
- I agree: wider space and, if I may suggest, slightly longer levels; I thought they were a bit short.
- ability to grind/scrape against bullets to increase some powerup, maybe bullet damage as an alternative to a bullet damage upgrade pick-up or purchase
- ability to combine ALL weapon upgrade types, rather than having just a few combinations. That might require (number-of-shots upgrade) + (damage upgrade) [+ (other-modifier upgrade) + …] maybe.
- more upgrade levels, rather than just double and tetra fire (I like upwards of six or more shots, personally), as well as damage upgrades that are separate from the number-of-shots upgrades
- maybe a few more weapon types (wave and laser were cool additions, as well as allowing them to be combined with other upgrades; more of this!)
- also add ship component upgrades to the stat percentage increase items
- enemies that can take quite a pounding from a fully upgraded ship, but only appear when fully upgraded (but not quite a boss)
- I like story and character development
- more missile types? Like Scorched Earth weapon variations. Google it. (old tank game with a ridiculous number of weapons available)
Rock on, dude. Good job with Enigmata in the first place. Upgrades were generally well balanced with a pretty good amount of grinding (not too much most of the time).

Hey guys, those are some good ideas. I decided to add more weapons in the sequel, and there are already more characters/storyline.

how about infinite boss mode? i mean like boss mode but super harder in your legendary shop 50,000,000 coins?

I have ~~several~~ some ideas for the sequel to Enigmata.
- More levels, at least 30 story levels and possibly more bonus levels as well.
- REMOVE THE LEGENDARY SHOP. Whilst it contains useful stuff, it’s pretty god damn annoying to have to randomly find, only to discover that you don’t have enough money for ANYTHING.
- More ship types – that is to say, more upgrades AND more classes.
- Unlock miniature versions of Genu and Epic in-game (for, say, 30 and 45 achievements respectively).
- Evil Mode – whenever you complete a multiple of 5 level and have a certain number of achievements, you unlock the boss of that level, who then has to fight all the ship types of a similar level (i.e. the level 5 boss would fight all the level 1 ships, level 10 boss would fight all the level 2 ships, etc.).
Item ideas:
Rocket Drones (fire homing rockets at enemies)
Laser Drones (fire lasers at enemies)
Tornado Summon (allows tornado weapon to be found in-game; when collected, you fire a spinning projectile that rotates around you in a spiral shape)
Smart Bomb (’nuff said)
