Alright, so, you've followed the newbie guide from start to your first TT... and you're wondering what to do now. Well, you've come to the right place! Time for the TT and Beyond Guide!
I'm going to start by saying that there is A LOT of varying advice here. Once you hit this point, you should have a decent idea of what you're doing, so take the advice as you please and do whatever you feel like doing. I will lay out what I think is the best route, with notes about what I did and about what other people suggest if it it is different than what I suggest.
I am also going to simply use all of the acronyms and in-game terms here as if you know what they mean. If you don't, go check the first guide. I don't feel like re-posting all of that info here.
Final intro note; this guide is not going to be as laid out point by point as the other guide. This one will be a lot more discussion , and less step-by-step instructions.
**Town Upgrades Menu**
This menu uses Town Credits (TCs) to buy upgrades. TCs are converted from BPTs when you TT.
--There are 8 items in the town upgrades menu. They are:--
Unlock More Utility Skills
Unlock more Ultimate Skills
Reduces the Conversion Price (Rare Gems)
Increases the droprate by x% per remaining credit
Unlocks Speed (8x, 16x)
Allows the factory to produce gems
Increases the conversion rate to x per BPT
Increases bonus for statistic goals by x%
**First TT:**
Okay, starting off right away with some conflicting advice. A lot of people wonder when they should TT for the first time. I cover this at the end of my first guide, but I'll add a bit of discussion here.
With your first TT, you are trying to do 2 things: Get "Ultimate Chance" from Unlock More Utility Skills, and then have TC leftover to get a better BPT conversion rate for your next TT.
Because of this, I don't see a lot of purpose in grinding out a ton of BPT's for your first TT. BPT's have diminishing returns (meaning 200-300 takes MUCH longer than 0-100, for instance). Also, on your first TT your bpt conversion rate will be .083 (very low). For these reasons, **I suggest TT'ing for the first time at ~500 BPT**. This will get you Ult chance and enough tc for a bpt conversion of .633 for your next TT. That will make it very easy on your second TT to get a bpt conversion of 1:1 (only takes 93 bpt's for that) and then a bunch of TC leftover for sr droprate.
Some people try to set themselves up to get 8x on the 2nd TT. This is quite hard to do, as it requires lots of patience and letting the game sit for days so you can get a high enough bpt on your first TT to get 1:1 bpt conversion rate. If you are a super patient person and want to go this route, shoot for about 1200 bpt. This will get you 1:1 bpt and Ult chance after your first TT. My way takes until your 3rd TT to get 8x... but I'm ok with that. The truth is it takes about the same amount of time, just my way is more active play with going through an extra town, and the patience way is more idle time of letting it just build sr for bpt's.
**Town 1:**
After you've TT'd once, you'll be in Town 1. This is very much like Town 0, so get ready to basically do everything the same way again, just very slightly quicker (thanks to a slight sr boost from tc, ultimate chance, and just knowing how to do things). Remember, you can use the codes again. I have found that I have to use ALL of them in Hqt0. If I wait until Hqt1 for any of them, it glitches for me and says they've already been redeemed.
You won't need any upgrades quite yet, so no need to purchase anything now. Do everything the same way you did for Town 0, until you get to bpt 1 with WC IX.
--Ultimate Chance Explained--
Ultimate Chance doesn't come into play until you're bpt'ing again, but once it does, it dramatically increases your sr income. Once you follow the original path and you get to bpt 1 with WC IX, this time you get to use the wonderful NB trick everyone has been talking about.
Go into your new shiny Town Upgrades menu (bottom left of the Town screen, next to the Settings wheel) and put 2 clicks into Unlock More Utility Skills. This will give you Ultimate Chance in your utilities.
From here, do a basic bpt farming build, but this time start your new bounds at 0%, and your ultimate chance at 100%. Part of the key here is not having anything except New Bounds in your Ultimate Upgrades. If you have unlocked other things, you'll just need to max those as well, so that the only ultimate upgrade that remains is New Bounds. From here, there are 2 paths:
Farming Topwaves-
Remember how I described farming for WC IX in BPT 1? The top of tier 0 is 57k, so you start at ~50k and just farm the top 7k waves? Well now with 0% new bounds, the top of tier 0 is at about 3k waves. So you start at 3k (or whichever wave is closest to the top of tier 0... You can tell by getting the enemy hp as close to e308 as possible. I think it is like 3200 or so), but your new bounds will slowly ramp up, keeping you higher in the tier for ~50k waves. Neat, huh?
So that's the basics of farming Topwaves. As you bpt, you have to find the top of your tier -1 (it will be ~3k x tier) and then start your run at the highest possible spot (as close to e308 of tier -1) as possible. This can get a little bit tedious, but it is necessary when your bpt is low enough that you can't simply start at the highest wave possible with nb 0% (as the enemy tier will be much higher than you).
Chasing Tiers-
Once you are able to bpt up higher than the enemy tier at nb 0%, then you can start chasing tiers. This is much easier and has less lag because you will no longer be dying and restarting runs. How it works is the same as farming topwaves - just put your nb at 0% and ult chance at 100%... but this time, just start at the highest wave and let it go. Every once in a while (as often as you have the patience for) you can quit the round, bpt up again, and restart your run at the highest possible tier again. As you go higher tiers, the sr income increases dramtically, so the idea is to just bpt up as much as possible, then chase tiers as high as you can.
For your 2nd TT, there are 2 main ways to go... Again, based on your patience. If you went my route (~500 bpt), you can get your bpt conversion rate to .633 with your leftover TC. That means you can go to anywhere from 500 - 1000 bpt this time. When you TT, you'll have enough TC for a couple of clicks into SR droprate %, while still having enough leftover to get a 1:1 or better bpt conversion on your next TT, setting you up for an easy 8x on your 3rd TT. So bpt up as much as you have patience for, anywhere from 500-1000, and then when you're ready, go into your Town Upgrades menu, put all your tc into bpt conversion rate, and then TT again!
If you went the slow, patient route, you'll be able to get 8x on the 2nd TT if you go to 1k bpt again. You might want to go a bit higher so you still have some TC leftover for sr droprate. Get however high you want, then head into your Town Upgrades menu, click up your bpt conversion to 1:1, and TT!
**Second TT:**
If you went the slow route and have 1k TC's, congratulations! You can buy 8x now! Things move more quickly from here. Buy 8x in your Town Upgrades menu.
If you went my route, you'll now have a bucket of TC to play with; just be sure to save the necessary amount to get to 1:1 bpt conversion before next TT. If you went to .633 as I mentioned, you will need 59 TC for that.
Either route, with your leftover TC you'll have some math to do. There are a few upgrades that boost sr%: droprate, and % for Statistic Goals. In general, % for Statistic Goals is going to give you a bigger boost early on while it is cheap, and before you have much TC for droprate %. Play around with the math, or just put a couple of clicks into droprate % for leftover TC, and a couple of clicks into Statistic Goals %.
If you TT'd early, get to 1k+ bpt, use your TC to click up to 1:1 conversion, then TT and you'll have 8x and be caught up with the other folks (except it'll happen about the same time; they were just sitting around in Town 0 and 1 while you powered through to Town 2).
**Rolling through TT's**
Once you get 8x, things start to move much more quickly. From here, it's just bpt'ing up as much as you have patience for, TT'ing as often as you would like, and using your TC's to max out the Town Upgrades menu. I'm not gonna put much more in this guide, but I will give my ultra fast TT to BPT'ing guidance:
You're now at the point in the game where you have TT'd enough times that you gain SR pretty quickly. This is the funnest part of the game to me! You can skip a lot of steps, and basically the only thing that slows you down is Research Time in lab. How I do a typical run at this point is
1) click into "normal" and pause the game. Put in all of the codes. Turn off auto-skip. Unpause, and let it go til you die (seconds). You'll have a truckload of the things you need.
2) Go to lab, put all of your gems except 2600 into Research Speed. Go to temple and buy 10 Instant Research Tokens. Instant Research Attack Modes and Wave Compression I.
3) Start research on Rapid Fire, Multi Shot, Bouncing Missiles. these take ~40 seconds each.
4) While that is happening, go to workshop and do a basic Glass Cannon build... Then go to hard, turn auto-skip and Compress on, and cruise through some waves. You'll go much higher than you need to by the time you get your research requirements.
5) As you're doing this, research Gambling, Interest, Gem Chances. Use some of your sr to grab a bucket of greens, and put it on Interest Limit - auto research. Let that go and go and go (until you have 180 researched items in HQ to get you all the way to HQt5). The only time you'll pause is to auto-research Wave Compression.
6) HQtier as soon as you can, as per usual. For Hqt1, you should be able to immediately get auto-restart to 0%, and put some purples into research speed and special resource factor in HQ. research speed at this point just helps your interest limit get you to 180 researches asap, since that is the bottleneck.
7) Hop into normal, turn off auto-skip and compress, restart (since u probably died from auto-restart and compress) and get a couple of kills to blow up your SR. take that SR into workshop and do a basic full offense build, as per usual. I often forget SR income/bonus and gem chances as I fly through this, so don't forget those. It can be helpful here to get to 15k bpp then use the Challenge Mode import if you want the ease of New Bounds.
8) Go right to hard and power through some waves. Use the SR to first max your offense build, and then put it into greens for Wave Compression research, then back on Interest limit auto-research.
9) Tier up! Hqt2. All the same as before, but now you'll need to do offense build, then add hp regen and hp, and move on to Insane.
10) Hqt3! Same thing, but this time you get challenge mode. Nice little sr boost from the Statistic Goals. Don't forget about those! Do the Challenge modes, and max Statistic Goals as you go.
11) Hqt4! by now you probably have WC IX and all the researches you need You can forget about the lab now, until you can break gem trade later. Do the same thing (normal -> hard -> insane) and with new bounds, you'll be done in no time.
12) HQt5! No more research. Pump your purple into SRFactor in HQ. 1 quick round in normal, then a couple rounds in hard, then onto Insane with a maxed Insane build. do a long run, set up your nb trick bpt build, and away you go. It can be a good idea to pause and crank through your easy/normal/hard max waves for the Statistic Goals.
**Additional Items**
As you go through this, use your gems to get rares to get +SR Drops and Conversion rate in the temple. Once you are cruising along with massive income, you can break the gem trade so you can max temple quite early.
Breaking Gem Trade:
The gem trade (spending 5 rares to get X blues) is based on your Research Speed in lab, and your Research Speed Factor in HQ. If you get these to ~500 and ~25 respectively, then you will get more blues than it takes to purchase 5 rares. Your gem trade is broken. You can use 5 rares to get blues, then buy a bunch of rares back, and go again. If you notice your return is decreasing, use a round of blues to put into Research Speed in lab again, and it will bump up your trade again. Do this as much as you need to max the temple.
Breaking HQ:
The final frontier. Benchmarks before this is possible are a maxed Town Upgrades menu, and e7 TC's.
From there, you just need to get Special Resource Factor to 46.25. This will take about 2e20 purples, or 2e25 SR (a bit less if you have a maxed temple with -20% Conversion Rate... Then you can convert to blues, and then convert to purples to take advantage of the conversion twice).
My first time took a ~48 hour run. 2e25 SR is a lot.
Once you get to 46.25 SRF, the cost goes to -- and you can use an autoclicker to click it up as high as you want. Purples are no longer of any value. Leave the autoclicker on it overnight, or however long you want, and have fun with HUGE sr income.
After I broke HQ, I wracked up a ton of bpt's, then TT'd one more time just to see how fast I could go TT to Broken HQ again. Took about 4 hours.
After that, getting 2bil bpt's is pretty easy, and the only thing left is chasing High Scores. Congrats, you have officially completed the game!

This is a pretty rough draft at this point because I'm feeling lazy today, and in general not very motivated to have a nice detailed guide for this part of the game. As per usual, open to suggestions and I will make tweaks to refine it as time goes. Thanks all!

Hi Eli,
If you'll notice the first line of this guide, it says "Alright, so, you've followed the newbie guide from start to your first TT". This means that this particular guide is a follow up to "Newbie guide: Start to first tt". You will need to read that one first to understand this one (found here: http://www.kongregate.com/forums/32139-the-perfect-tower/topics/1879912-newbie-guide-start-to-first-tt). It has all of the acronyms and such explained.
Thanks!

This is a great guide! It was really helpful for me and others who are TTing. The only thing I could recommend is that the, "patient," route is expanded a bit more, because 1200 bpt doesn't leave as much TC for SR upgrades, so the first TT is just about the same speed as before TTing. It would just help a bit for players who want to be a little bit more patient, but gets a better town one instead of just replaying the whole game except for 1:1, which wouldn't even matter until next TT.
