What does this mean for me? You will always be able to play your favorite games on Kongregate. However, certain site features may suddenly stop working and leave you with a severely degraded experience.
What should I do? We strongly urge all our users to upgrade to modern browsers for a better experience and improved security.
We suggest you install the latest version of one of these browsers:
I am running a test to see how practical it would be to do interviews on Kong as well as the easiest and quickest way to get them conducted, edited and posted.
**Rules**
1. You may only have one interview per player(per cycle). If you have an interview on Facebook you may not do one here and vise versa.
2. You may only have one interview per player(per cycle). If you have multiple accounts on Kong, you may only get an interview for one account.
3. You may only have an interview with one network (ANN or GG)per cycle, but you don’t have to only use one site exclusively. You may do an interview on ANN for one event and then use GG for the next event.
- Cycles are defined as “pre-event” and “post-event” so you may have two interviews total for each CW/FW.
Abuse will likely end this project for everyone and other actions may be taken by the devs.
If you are interested send me a private message either in game or via Kong.
Faction Wars 3308 Post Event Interviews
Mycroft Holmes 710713 with
retiredarmyman #881556
ANN: A special thanks to retiredarmyman for being my first Guinea Pig for Kong interviews. For those who dont know him, he hails from Death’s Dawn {AFF}. Congratulations to them on their Gold Medal win in Faction Wars. Now let’s get down to the brass tacks, what do you enjoy most about this game?
R: The new friends i have made and the excitement of the warss
ANN: What was the most memorable fight for you? ( round or personal)
R: When I beat my clan leader who is five levels higher then me after some pointers he gave me to help make my line up better. I believe it was a fluke as I haven’t been able to win again, but I can get to his last row consistently where before was only able to make it to 3rd row.
ANN: Internal scouting is just as important as testing the opponents. Not many players do that, but they should. How do you do personally? Any D-wins, especially surprise D-wins?
R: I was a 950 ton total specialist for Faction Wars, I did get a few D-wins in the last round and the surprise win was their top player attacked me and lost. He attacked with normal formation and computer took out his mechs to make weight, which is never good to let that happen.
ANN: Quite right. If you attack a limited tonnage formation with a full line up you will lose most of the time. Did you make top 5 or 15?
R: Neither, I only hit with my specialist formation, I didn’t want to chance getting caught out of formation and giving away points for free.
ANN: Yes, it is tricky trying to switch out without getting sniped sometimes. At least after you attack you have a grace period to get back to your specialty. What are you hoping to score from the raid? Have you finished?
R:Well I’m always hoping for a new mech. But the raid is finished and no new mech.
ANN:At least you got the prize mech, those always nice. How do you like all the new equipment recently released for the BFM’s?
R: I think it’s great that we’re getting some better equipment for the BFM, and now it’s time for me to spend so i can buy.
ANN: If you can spend that’s great. Players that do are the ones who keep the game going. What would you like to see next? More mechs and updates? More weapons and equipment? More story-line?
R: Anything new that helps improve the game is great.
ANN: What are the some of the challenges to playing on Kong vs. FB. (if you have played on FB)
R: I do play on both sites, there are challenges on both sites, FB the challenge is getting enough friends for crystal harvesting. Kong the challenge is getting Niodes.
ANN:. Anything to add?
R: Even though this is a test I hope did well and this might be a workable way for Kong members to participate in interviews. To the devs, love the game and appreciate the hard work you all do to make this game fun.

Faction Wars 3308 Post Event Interviews
Mycroft Holmes #710713 with
fjbros #885904
ANN: Alright mecha fans, ANN has a new mobile studio and we’re travelling to the deep fringe world to collect all the pilot stories we possibly can. Our next guest is fjbros of the Derps and Dragons faction, recent Division 5 Gold medal winners. Can you give us a short summary of each round?
fjbros: The short summary of each round is that we pretty much knew what our opponents could do, so we just let our heavier hitters and folks aiming for a megazome get the wins they wanted and the rest of us just filled in the rest.
ANN: Did you have any exciting battles? Any that were closer than you expected?
fjbros: Nothing too exciting, I believe that smurfs put up more points that we expected.
ANN: Did the specialists have a large impact, either with defensive wins or with players just avoiding them. Which is almost as good as D-Wins in my opinion.
fjbros: We won about 16% of all attacks against us, and it seemed most opponents threw in the towel, so I think our lower levels and specialists did an excellent job. We always look at specialists as follows: A) does it change a unlimited loss to a win, B) will it prevent someone from attacking the specialist when they would have attacked and won against the unlimited formation.
ANN: That’s roughly 1 in 6. Impressive result. I think you have a good formula there. Specialists are a bit difficult for newer players often times, with construction or choosing the proper type for their situation. How did your faction fare in the raid? Anything spectacular or just average?
fjbros: Our raid was pretty difficult with lots of walls to break thru, but we worked together to help the lower levels achieve a mech share. The raid prizes had a good chance to pick up a torrent or dreadnought. Unfortunately, I only got a gigus, which will likely collect dust except for rainbow formations.
ANN: Teamwork is very important on the raids. I wish there was a small chat window on the raid page so you could communicate easier. In reference to any dust collectors you may have, what do you think of the newest equipment out for BFM’s?
fjbros: I haven’t had a chance to really check them out, mainly because I don’t have the niodes to purchase them. They seem to be much better overall that the previously released 100T gear, which is plagued with weaknesses. I am hoping that dual protection niode shields will be released for the higher tonnage mechs, as I love them for my high tonnage mechs.
ANN: I believe those are in the works. The mech updates, those should be covering a large portion of Div.5 armies. Do any of those strike you as something to acquire?
fjbros: I haven’t really had a chance to look at what the changes were for the mech updates. Most of them are not currently being used by me. Also, it seems a lot of the changes were around extending the upgrades for higher levels. I would like to see a side by side comparison of the old vs. the current mechs. I have an old spreadsheet with the development trees for all the mechs, so maybe it is time to do some updating.
ANN: Most of the updates added abilities starting around level 25-30 and continues through the higher levels. Maybe that is something we can also post to Kong so players can see the improvements. And speaking of Kong, what do you find are the major differences of Kong and FB? What is more difficult, we know communication is a bit of a challenge, what else?
fjbros: The major differences are as follows: 1) niode videos, 2) filling HGs, 3) alt account security, 4) major lagging, 5) niode purchasing, 6) crystal farming, 7) chat. Niodes videos (force ion beam) aren’t available on kong, so niodes are more of a premium on kong (videos haven’t really been available on FB this year, but still around 3-4 per day). Filling HGs on kong is a nightmare compared to FB. Sure, in facebook each have to have each other as a friend in game, but the loading of kong and the game and the HG link usually makes my computer unhappy. Lost of alt FB accts being seized lately, no worries about that on kong. Kong suffers from some major lagging, between the kong ads and the clan page taking up to several minutes to load. Niode purchasing requires the purchase of kong credits to be used in game, not really an issue, but there isn’t the comparable purchase amounts as in FB,MG, or Syfy. Also, no clan niode deal is available in kong, which I have been asking for since they came out during the summer. The second plus for kong, you can do a lot of crystal farming as there are a ton of new accts created and you just have to add them from the chat window. More friends = more crystal to harvest. Finally, chat in kong is pretty awful, just a general game chat that does not keep history. Most players use FB chat. We’ve had kong players make FB accts to be able to chat with the rest of us. Communication is key in this game. A in-game chat system that is not dependent on the platform would be helpful, especially a clan/faction chat system, as the clan board just isn’t effective.
ANN: Wow, that is quite a list, but these are the things the Devs want to know so they can work on making the game better for everyone. Thank you for the info. Do you have any other comments you want to add or a wish list for content?
fjbros: The Devs do a great job of trying to keep this game fresh and are very responsive to the players. I hope they keep that up. I’d like to see more in-game tools for players to find clans to join or for clans to recruit players. The one major enhancement that would be a godsend to clan leaders would be a last login time field on the player profile. We haven’t really run into this issue within Dragons, but I know that not knowing if a player is inactive or active has turned me off from leading new player clans and new player development. And one last point for some of the clans that aren’t very large: start planning for Faction War 3314 now, reach out to other clans similar in level to get them on the same page. Dragons are a rather larger faction in the game, but we started communicating with BHG and RND back in Dec/Jan in regards to faction planning, maybe earlier.
ANN: That is some very good info there. One of the things I enjoy about this game and community is the willingness to share info with other players.

Faction Wars 3308 Post Event Interviews
Mycroft Holmes 710713 with
Robert C Goetz Sr. #175262
ANN: The ANN studios are full today and that’s a good thing. Lots of pilots queueing up to tell their version of what happened. You could be next. But right now in the hot seat is Robert Goetz. Where did you fight in this event?
Robert: Death’s Collectors, {AFF} {FW}
ANN: What division was that and what medal did you take?
R: Division 2-Gold.
ANN: Congrats. AFF does always seem to take at least on Gold in every event. What was the most memorable fight for you?
R: Well honestly wasn’t even in this division. It was our D6 clan Destroyers, that was the closest battle in any round in any division.
ANN: Yes that was a close one. What about defensive wins? Did you pick any up that were unexpected?
R: Maybe a few each round, but mostly from people you don’t face in KOTM’s so they have no idea what you’re facing.
ANN: KotM does give good intel on specialist formations. How much impact do you think specialists had on this Faction War as opposed to a Clan War setting?
R: Not as much, since there were so many other targets. If you planned your faction closer in levels you could take out many others without having to risk hitting all their specialist, but of course good scouting always helps, and shared intel is great.
ANN: I suppose with more players in a faction than in a clan there would be a great deal of intel. Did you take a top five or fifteen in your faction?
R: Yes…my thought are lead by example.
ANN: Can’t argue with that.
R: You don’t need to win by a thousand, but sometimes the guys get carried away and want to see how many they can kill. Of course a clean sweep is bragging rights so several go for that every time.
ANN: Absolutely. A clean sweep is always nice for bragging rights in the clan. Before I forget, what do you think about the new updates for mecha? Did those have any effect on any specialist fights?
R:Yes, it’s alway nice seeing our older mechas getting some much needed updates. I just have to remind myself when they do, I need to go add the extra equipment to the now empty slots. One mecha I’d like to see updated is our 10T Red Ants, they’ve been neglected too long. They need engine slots. Maybe not as many as Anuz’s have, but say 1 every 25 levels would be nice.
ANN:As if ants at high level aren’t nasty enough? I’m sure they will get some attention eventually.
R: Another is one of my and many others long time favorite mechas is the Oggun. They need more engines too. And cockpits at over 100 level they only have 1 engine and 2 cockpits…so very sad.
ANN: The Oggun did get some stat boosts. So far only one mech has gained any equipment slots, but I also would like to see more slots on the Oggun. I’m also a big fan of them. How did you and your group fare in the raid?
R:Raid results as always vary, some made out like bandits, others got Envolopers. Most were somewhere in between.
ANN: How do you like the new equipment for the BFM’s?
R: Glad to see some [Auto-Repair] finally coming out that doesn’t have kickback. They still need more quality equipment for the 100t mechas.
ANN:That is a common request. What would you like to see next? More mechs and updates? More weapons and equipment? More story-line?
R: How about equipment And update?
ANN: Why not? What did you think of the vote option on the last Clan Wars? Do you think that is a good option? would you like to see more features like that, possibly with more impact?
R: Yes, nice to be able to choose weapon boost, anything with crit kill good thing
Any other comments you wish to add?
R: Only that I appreciate all the hard work everyone put in to make this a fun and at times exciting event, and Special Thanks to everyone that served in the {AFF} factions helping remain a strong force in the game.
ANN: Thank you for speaking with us.

Embedded with the SAS (HF: Special Assault Squadron)
DAY 2, Xerxes ‘J’ Raid. 1742hrs, hill 306 Heroes Faction forward area. A meeting just broken up, the three factions senior officers tiredly slip away in clumps of one’s and two’s back toward the joint command post where I’m waiting till only one officer remains. After a few moments he turns and limps down the hill toward me. Seeing my ANN badge and the recorder I’m holding he raises his hands in a mock surrender.
“Brian Leslie King #309012,of HF: Special Assault Squadron. Most recently in action, Division”
Yeah, you are most hilarious. What is it that you like most about doing this? What keeps you doing what you’re doing?
He sits down slowly and carefully.
“ Whew, comradeship, I suppose. Sure you can go around blasting everything to bits… or in our case getting blasted to bits…”
He rubs a hand down his side, a bandage is slightly visible through several tears in his jacket.
“ …but it’s the friends you make right here and alliances such as with Colin and John in this campaign right down to riffing off your clanmates during missions.”
What was the highlight of the event for you?
“ Well, Round three was our only win and we had to win to make our point: Which was though we were badly hosed in the 1st and second rounds, we could rise up and deliver a crushing victory over another force proving we are not cringing target practice, but rather a well put together unit struggling with the irregularities of this whole Faction Wars event.”
How did you hold up personally in the battles?
He motions to one of the medics hovering in the background to approach. The medic cuts away the lower right leg of Brian’s jumpsuit and begins to change the dressing on a nasty looking wound.
“I did better than some. Ok, yes a few ‘D’ wins were scored, quite a few especially in the 2nd and 3rd rounds. And aren’t they all nice surprises?! Really helped us out thanks you guys for poor shooting.”
And your totals? You score a top five or fifteen?
“Ah, I think I was top five maybe? It was all a surprise as I thought i did ok compared to everyone. But salvage chalked up 3 additional mechs to the prime, probably earned in our last round fight The Myths and Legends -again thanks you guys.,”
How is your raid against Xerxes going.
“The raid continues, we’re in to our 2nd day of combat and intel says we’re somewhere around 82% of all our objectives. Night operations will tell how far we can improve on that.”
He points to one of the Heroes officers nods in a direction where distant flashes and thin, black smoke seen in those flashes.
“They seem to be getting their share of shots in as well”
What is your appraisal of the newest gear for the Big Fighting Machines?
The junior officers in the background lean in while pretending not to listen.
“ I for one, am happy” (a few grunts of approval and wicked smiles appear on the faces of the Bunny officers and techs) ”a bit more speed and dodge to my assault line really improved my combat fortunes. Some of those mechs I would never have used without the new stuff inside, now they can even jog and dance a bit. And then turn mechs into melted slag.”
What would you like to see in the near future? What interests you the most.
“The future, well storylines are great, carry on with them. Maybe a few Clan and Faction campaigns now that would be really cool. Oh definitely carrying on with the mech upgrades and new equipment coming of the ‘boards is also very cool.”
Anything else you would like to comment on?
“Ok, this FW has been a tweaked one indeed, bitter bitter fighting, and much losses. I’m the only original leader left from our Faction after the start of combat Op’s a week plus ago. Dirty pool and assassination attempts, including a hit aimed at you.”
He pushes up out of his chair and ignores the protests of the medic who claims he needs to keep off his feet.
“Thanks for this interview at this late hour but we have urgent things to discuss with my fellow officers.
He turns slightly to the combined Heroes, Bunny and Highlander Officers.
“Combining our MASH units has worked even better than we expected, with more transports now available to get our wounded away….”
At this point I am politely but firmly ushered back to the gateway for the return trip to the ANN offices.

Faction Wars 3308 Post Event Interviews
Mycroft Holmes 710713 with
Che Moffat #385927
ANN: Another day, another interview, with another quite successful pilot. Hmmm…. Free Niodes and victory, I wonder if there is a connection? But I digress, tell us Che, What was the most memorable fight for you?
Che: The last round is always the best round to fight in because it is a chance to get Gold or trying to save some pride with the chasing of the Bronze medal. Dexter Berry would of been the strongest player I would of face. Even though he is 60 level lower than me he is a strong player and I’m not looking forward to when he levels up.
ANN: How do you do personally? Any D-wins, especially surprise D-wins?
C: I was lucky to have a clean sheet and hit all across the three days of battle. Also had one DW which was a surprise as I had beaten them before they attack me.
ANN: Maybe they were feeling lucky? Did you take a top five or fifteen?
C:Once again i was lucky to get in the top 5 and scored some have stuff.
ANN: Congrats. What are you hoping to score from the raid?
C:Anything from the raid will be a bonus, but most of all would like to score some R.A.C.E engines
ANN: Those are very good. Speaking of equipment, how do you like all the new equipment recently released for the BFM’s?
C:Still looking for some elite equipment that would cost 2-3 times more than the stuff around. Maybe have the Retro Controller from the vortex as a buy item would be nice. Maybe a max of buying of 5 so if you have some you can still buy 5 so it doesn’t punish the players that played the vortex and won some.
ANN: Low purchase limits on high performing equipment seems fair. What would you like to see next? More mechs and updates? More weapons and equipment? More story-line?
C: I would like to see a new mission or two. That would be nice.
ANN: Any other comments?
C: Would like to thank all the clan that came together to rule the galaxy as the Storm. I think it still would be nice to have everyone come together to stop someone that wants to take over the galaxy. So have a raid that anyone can join to stop a bad person that wants to rule over all.
ANN: A galactic raid? That would be fun. Thanks for talking with us.
C: Thanks for your time too.

Faction Wars 3308 Post Event Interviews
Mycroft Holmes 710713 with
Justin Verret #10698
ANN: I’m sitting at my desk trying to tie up a few loose ends on how Gorax and Xerxes are connected. Many of the mecha in their armies carry the same mutated bioptics. That can’t be a coincidence. As I’m looking at my notes someone walks in and plops down in the chair across from me. I look up to see, arguably, one of the most recognisable pilots in recent times. As with most of the members of The Storm, he has had a long and storied career.
Alright then, this should be very informative. You’re a savvy veteran at the game and with interviews. I’ll let you take the lead if you wish. What would you like to discuss?
Justin: Honestly it’s been some time, just treat me as you would anyone else.
ANN: Lets start with a summary of the battles then. Anything stand out to you in any of the rounds?
J: The most difficult opponent we faced was Dexter Berry. Some of our guys had some surprising losses to him.
ANN: That speaks volumes. How much of an effect do you think specialists have? More or less in a Faction Wars setting, compared to Clan Wars?
J: Specialists play the biggest factor in deciding who the top 5 and top 15 attackers are, as getting one of those slots depends often times on having all the needed specialist formations, and being able to count on them to win fights.
ANN: Interesting point, and quite accurate. If you are trying to win those prizes, having the formations to attack all of the opponents would gain you a potential twenty points per round in this last event. Several mechs have received high level updates and word on the street in more to come. Do you think any of those had any impact on specialist fights. Maybe a better question would be did you observe any changes or was all just as expected?
J: It went as I expected honestly. Updates or not, the old mecha do not compete with the new. The Orester is an absolutely terrible mech. Probably the single worst in the game
ANN: Speaking of new, what is your opinion on the new Crystal 100 ton?
J: It’s pretty much garbage so far. It’s got a huge speed penalty to start, and until I see final stats on it, you know, three or 4 months from now since it takes that long to level something to the 180’s, my opinion won’t really change. The equipment for 100 ton mecha is substandard at best. The only things that are worth the Niodes are the ones you could get from the vortex in the past or currently.
ANN:There has been some talk or requests for some daily type content. Would that be something you are interested in or is it just cries for MOAR?
J: I’d love to see more PvE content, as well as another way to gain resources(niodes) that don’t rely on a credit card or random chance of the missions/minibosses.
ANN: Could you expand on the PvE? Do you have any ideas about that?
J:There is no reason we could not do game wide, weekly raids. Set a kill cap and just have fun. of course, varying when they occur would be important to give everyone a chance to participate
ANN:True. Does story content matter to you, or any of the high level players? Do you care who you are fighting in the missions or raids, or are you happy as long as there is someone to shoot? To follow up, would it be more interesting if you could choose the next raid opponent?
J:I did care about the story long ago when the game was new. Now it’s so late in the game that it’s all just “meh” to me. If Player/Clan/Faction choice actually mattered, if we could actually impact the game somehow, I might actually care more. But so long as we’re just fighting the same old rehashed npc villains, it’s just another day in the galaxy..
ANN:So, maybe something like a +2% to (random stat) if affiliated with Faction A or -1% upgrade time for Faction B ? That kind of thing?
J: 1-2 % means absolutely nothing. 10% or more, minimum. I feel this was well illustrated by the recent equipment sale. At 6% nobody bought anything. it wasn’t until it was raised to 12% that it made it remotely worth buying anything.
ANN:Of course it would have to be scaled appropriately. And for the player impact you mentioned? Modified by Clan War results? Only by Faction War? Or a special event ?
J:I would say since clan wars is now once a month as opposed to the once every two months in the beginning, it’s a pretty standard measurement. Don’t get me wrong, some precautions might have to be put in place to ensure the system isn’t unbalanced and manipulated maliciously.Faction wars should have some bearing as well, as these are collections of clans, nominally of like-minded players.
ANN:Indeed, Thank you for your insights. Do have anything else you would like to add?
J:It was a great war. Thanks to my clanmates in the Storm, and everyone we faced. I am happy to see so many players playing, and look forward to the next faction war.
ANN:Agreed, more players makes for a better time.
J: So many have left the game.
ANN: Yes. I have noticed that. One of the reasons I try to keep on these interviews is to find what keeps players interested. For some all they want is a few Niodes for the interview….. others, well, It takes some digging.
J: The Niodes are nice.
ANN: Yes they are. Maybe I should start all interviews with … why do you play?
J: That or “What do you enjoy about the game?” I wager you’ll get “The camaraderie of my clanmates.” more often than not.
ANN: No argument from me.
J: Me either, that’s why I keep staying here. I can’t let Jaime be the last of the alpha testers still playing.
ANN: The last of the old guard,eh?
J: Thanks for the interview.
ANN: Thank you.

Faction Wars 3308 Post Event Interviews
Mycroft Holmes 710713 with
Bob Schlomer #355341
ANN: Post War Interviews continue with Bob Schlomer. Now you usually run around in the upper divisions, where did you end up this time?
Bob: Division One, The Storm.
ANN: Well I guess I don’t have to ask how you did. What was the most memorable fight for you?
B: Going against the Bunnies (the whole clan) round 3. It was fun, the outcome wasn’t in doubt, but it was just fun going against Mainer and the gang.
ANN: They are a good group. And personally, I think they approach the game with the right attitude. Have fun and don’t worry if their glass is more full than yours.
How do you do personally? Any D-wins, especially surprise D-wins?
Bob: I did well. 15 across the rounds, and did get some D-wins with a few surprises. They usually are, I call it randomness in the game. Also did well offensively, but I do have a few holes to work on.
ANN: Don’t we all? Did you take a Top 5 or 15?
Bob: Yes, Got a top 15 here.
ANN: That’s no small achievement considering the group. What are you hoping to score from the raid?
Bob: Another Regis would be priority one for me, as it would fill a need on the triple rainbow. After that, any Niode mech and weapons/equipment would be great.
ANN: “Another” he says. Some of us are still hoping to get our first one. It’s all about perspective, isn’t it. How do you like all the new equipment recently released for the BFM’s?
Bob: It’s getting better, but still no real major speed increasing equipment at the 100ton level (Fext in mind…) but it’s getting better.
ANN: What would you like to see next? More mechs and updates? More weapons and equipment? More story-line?
B: I’d lean toward equipment and weapons next, followed by increased storyline for clan wars.
ANN: Equipment is king for sure. Anything to add?
Bob: There’s been a lot of talk about getting more involved on a Daily basis, and I would agree. Not exactly sure what that should be, there’s been several ideas talked about so might take some analysis to see what fits the game best.
ANN: Some kind of daily content? A mission or quest? That would be a nice addition. I don’t know what kind of programming that would take. Maybe the wave challenge of something similar. Thank you for speaking with us.
Bob: Thank You.

Faction Wars 3308 Post Event Interviews
Mycroft Holmes 710713 with
Steve Shcman#719489
ANN: Faction Wars has wrapped and while the smoke clears and the piles of smoking debris that used to be mecha make navigating down to the mobile ANN studios a bit tricky we already have a couple pilots lining up to share their tales. First up is Steve Shcman, Steve what unit were you with and how do you place?
Steve: RND Beta. Gold Medal.
ANN: Now that was Division Two?
S: No, we were in Six.
ANN: What was the most memorable fight for you? Either a round or any personal highlights.
S: Round 3 was amazing! The score was within 30 for the entire 24 hours except the last 10 minutes when we pulled away by 39
ANN: Wow, that is a close race. Sounds like a real exciting match. Are there any highlights you can remember?
S: Yeah, the sniping was sooo good. I was waiting for someone to step out of formation or get into formation and then get a hit in on people double my level. Feels incredible.
ANN: It seems you really enjoyed this Faction Wars.
S: I will say it [victory] felt tainted today when I woke up and found out one of our players was being unsportsmanlike. His efforts did not affect the outcome, but it took away from one of the best FW championship rounds i have ever seen.
ANN: I think it speaks well of the player base how professionally those involved resolved the situation. Well done, Gentlemen. Now moving on, how do you do personally? Any D-wins, especially surprise D-wins?
S: last FW I was the number one defender in my faction and this one Igot second. So i did great on Dwins, even had a few against people more than double my level.
ANN: So, I’ll assume you were running a specialist?
S: Nope.Unlimited!!
ANN: Congrats. Did you take top 5 or 15?
S: Oh goodness no. I’im one of low guys in my faction. Plus that’s way more xp than I would ever want for just a Megazome, even a DN is not worth 100+ wins worth of xp.
ANN: That depends on your point of view I suppose. What are you hoping to score from the raid? Or will you sit that out?
S: It depends on the percentages. The last FW the prizes were atrocious, with very low chances to win a mech. So hopefully more thought will be put into raids this time
ANN: What would you like to see next from MG? More mechs and updates? More weapons and equipment? More story-line?
S: Two things I would love to see would be: mechs winnable only in CW, FW, and Mechalympics. For example, the mutant mechs we face in raids and the pirate mechs in missions. Rewarded similar to the Neph where a Gold Medal earns you a mech others cannot buy. And let’s get a new mission. Stop the reworking and make a mission after Yomi. It would be nice to see progress in the game on that end.
ANN: A special FW mech? That would a cool prize And I would like to see some new missions as well . Any other comments you would like to add?
S: Yeah, our CO Mel Gibbons in RND Beta faction deserves to be Legendary pilot. With countless golds and a leadership skills to match any in the galaxy he is extremely deserving of a title Legendary and the glory of being added to game lore.
ANN:I will pass the word on. You’re welcome. Looks like prizes are going out now, enjoy your raid.
S: Thanks.

Clan Wars 3309
Mid Event Update
Mycroft Holmes #710713 with
LarsonS1 #827016
ANN: With round one of Clan Wars wrapping up we have seen some surprise wins, a few expected victories, some close matches, and some… I guess we could call them learning opportunities. I’m here with LarsonS1 of the HF: Dragoons. How did round one end up for you?
LarsonS1: Ended pretty well. We will get the win soon as first round closes. Personally I put down all but three of the opposing clan. I did make a rookie mistake by attacking a specialist with the wrong spec squad out. But hopefully that one loss won’t come back to haunt us.
ANN: How did your clan’s Specialists fare? Did the generate any defense wins for you?
L: We have pulled a couple D wins from our specialist and even some nice D wins from some of our lower level players runny their unrestricted line up.
ANN: And what of your opponent’s specialist formations? Did your clan have much trouble with them? And what about you personally, did you run into any you couldn’t match?
L: I feel we did pretty well coping with their specialist formations. Personally I was able to overcome all of their specialist other than the 1 pilot that was 25 levels above. I didn’t even try.
ANN: Probably a smart move. Moving on to larger topics, what do you think of the recent update packages for the mechs? Have you noticed you get a little more out of your medium sized mecha?
L: Yeah I like the new updates. Some those old mecha you been using for long time, you just hate to retire them sometimes. I think the updates give them a little more life before they completely out tonned.
ANN: At least when you get bigger mecha you can keep your old favorites around for rainbow formations and the like. What would you like to see more of from the game? Missions and stories, mechs, weapons and equipment?
L: Is there an all of the above option? I pretty much enjoy all the aspects of the game, so additions to any those would be nice. I really like the mission text when it mentions you or your clan by name. Maybe they could add some mission text where rival clans from last war are mentioned raiding you or something like that.
ANN: That’s an interesting idea. Looking at the other winning clans in your division, do you think you will take a Silver? Do you think you have what it takes to win a Gold?
L: Unfortunately I think gold is out of our reach. There are some really tough clans in our division this time. With a little luck we could pull out a silver, but it’s going to be a tough ride after this first round.
ANN: The challenge is what makes it fun, right? What do you hope to score from the raid? Anything specific, or just anything that can be added into your army is fine?
L: I have no idea of the possible loot so hard to make a wish list. But, some higher tonnage niode mecha be nice. I run a mostly crystal squad so even one new Niode mech be a nice little boost.
ANN: True enough there. An extra mech is always nice. (Also, prizes are now posted on the Clan Tournament tab) Do you have any comments to add?
L: Good luck to everyone participating in the Clan War, but, if I see you in battle, may my mechs melt yours to the ground… Cheers
ANN: A very common sentiment around the Galaxy. Good luck in your remaining battles.
L:Thank you.
Clan Wars 3310
Pre-Event Interviews
Mycroft Holmes #710713 with
UncleCreepers #960328
ANN: It’s Clan wars time. Our next guest speaking to us from the not often heard, Kong network. From the Kell Hounds clan we have UncleCreepers. What Division do you think you’ll be in.
UncleCreepers: I’m not sure yet, but probably low. Like 18 or 19.
ANN:What do you like best about the event?
U: I like the planning that goes into the event beforehand. The planning the composition of the clans, the scouting enemy formations and making your own to counter. With proper planning, no need to sweat during the event, until the RNG pantheon ruins your plans…
ANN: Ah, yes. The much loved and hated RNG. Is there anything you would like to change about it?
U: I would like to see another Mechalympics, but do the circuit groups you can enter based on your level, not the clan average. Also, faction level Mechalympics would be interesting…
ANN: Faction Wars Mechalympics? Yikes. One change added in the last event was a few 100% weapons and in some divisions equipment. Would you like to see more, less, same, or no prizes guaranteed? Consider that more 100% items would likely lower the amount of random items in the pool.
U: The trade-off seemed to be less weapons overall though, but I love the raids and their randomness. The thrill of anticipation when you go to the dreaded screen to see what you won… the agony of getting squat or the joy of getting something good or the wetness in my pants from getting multiple awesomeness! As for any new Changes, I would like the prize window to be scrollable. I hate not being able to see all the goodies.
ANN: Do you play the parlay bets? Have you had any luck?
U: I hate the betting, nice to have a chance to win niodes, but I hate that clan members might want you to throw a fight just to make the bets work…
ANN: I think I would have to find a new clan at that point. What do you think of the newest 100 ton Crystal mech, the Corsair?
U: I’ll let you know when I get one… I don’t like the one image on the city street, makes it look smaller than the holmes image with the battle tank and city street (with cars).
ANN: What area would you like to see the most development in the near future? Mechs, weapons and equipment, story and content, new events or contests?
U: More mechs, I’d love to see 5-6 mechs per weight class. Variety is the spice of life.
ANN: I do believe more mechs are on the way.If you got to design the next mech what would you make? Tons, Crystal or Niode, weapon focused or generalist?
U: 10 tons, everyone needs them, so everyone would be interested.
ANN: Do you have an idea for a name or background idea for the new winged creature?
U: To borrow from Strong Bad, a “wingaling dragon?”
ANN: I didn’t know he played Mecha Galaxy. Tell him hi for me. It appears Gorax has stepped up and made himself a target. The are rumors he has found a way to boost his soldiers tolerance for Hatorade and Stim Packs. Would that technology be of interest to you?
U: With the lack of energy vids, a higher daily usage of stims and lg stims would be welcome.
What do you feel are some of the challenges (if any) to playing on Kong as opposed to FB?
U: KONG HG SUCKS!!!! Also, no clan niode purchase option makes me sad.
ANN: I would agree with you on both points Anything you wish to add?
U: Mech and Equipment 5-packs would be nice. Also, maybe a mission victory reset or decrease if you haven’t been able to beat them in a month. Say, you get to the point where you can’t beat the mini-bosses or the boss… after a month a button appears asking you to yield, you press the button and a big sign saying sissy points to you but one victory tick is removed and you get the less difficult mission.
ANN: “Sissy points”. That is a great phrase. I’m sure I will plagiarize it often. Thank you for taking the time to speak with us.
Clan Wars 3310
Pre-Event Interviews
Mycroft Holmes #710713 with
LarsonS1 #827016
ANN:One thing about being a roving reporter is you do a lot of roving. Right now I’ve rovered over, (raved?) to where the pilots are limited to comms on the Kong frequencies. Next up in the studio is LarsonS1 of the HF: Dragoons. It’s Clan wars time. What do you like best about the event?
LarsonS1: It’s nice to go head to head against some the best players and really see if u can hold your own. Plus lootz, who doesn’t love lootz?
ANN: True, everyone enjoys the salvage and prizes. Is there anything you would like to change about it?
L: I can’t think of anything offhand that I feel needs to be changed.
ANN:One change added in the last event was a few 100% weapons and in some divisions equipment. Would you like to see more, less, same, or no prizes guaranteed? Consider that more 100% items would likely lower the amount of random items in the pool.
L: I am ok with 100% items. I still am in the stage where I need just about everything from events. And the RNG gods have been less than kind to me in the past with item drops.
ANN: I think that may have been a test response to that very issue. Hopefully they will continue with the 100% items. Do you play the parlay bets? Have you had any luck?
L: No, I do not place bets. I don’t really have Niodes to spare.
ANN: A common reply to that question. What do you think of the newest 100 ton Crystal mech, the Corsair?
L: I haven’t really had the chance to use one, but looks pretty nice for a crystal mech.
ANN: What area would you like to see the most development in the near future? Mechs, weapons and equipment, story and content, new events or contests?
L: Some new events and contest be nice, something that everyone must participate in to get rewards for the whole community.
ANN: Like a world raid? I think that’s on the to do list. If you got to design the next mech what would you make? Tons, Crystal or Niode, weapon focused or generalist?
L: An 80-90 Ton dodge tank. Preferably for crystals, but a Niode version be ok as it would probably be better if it costs Niodes.
ANN: That’s generally the case. Do you have an idea for a name or background idea for the new winged creature?
L: Cobalt Behemoth? Created by a mutation in his species from waste run off from mech factories.
ANN: I like it. It appears Gorax has stepped up and made himself a target. The are rumors he has found a way to boost his soldiers tolerance for Hatorade and Stim Packs. Would that technology be of interest to you?
L: Very much so. I can’t count the times that hitting my daily limit of hatorades has cost me a win in a KOTM event.
ANN: Good point. I’d say you’re not alone there. What do you feel are some of the challenges (if any) to playing on Kong/Syfy as opposed to FB?
L: I have only ever played on Kong, but I say it’s probably better on kong, as you don’t have to worry if your account will be banned every clan war.
ANN: I had not thought of that before. That is one way to look at it. What do you think of the continuing story-line? Gorax has been revealed as the cause behind the Shogunate Civil war. Would you like to see more story related events that affect gameplay in some way?
L: Very much so yes. It is always nice when story actually plays into game play, instead of storyline being more of an afterthought.
ANN: Anything you wish to add?
L: I would just like to say Good luck to everyone in upcoming Clan War, and as always I hope to melt you to the ground if I face you on the field.
ANN: Right. Good luck to everyone except your opponents. Thanks for talking to us.
Clan Wars 3310 – Post Event
Mycroft Holmes #710713 with
LarsonS1 # 827016
ANN: This is a new segment for us here at ANN. Not that interviews are new, but the ability to offer them to players in Kong space. An unexpected bonus of my being banished from the book of face. My misfortune is your lucky day, or something like that. Let’s get started. Describe or give a quick summary of each round.
LarsonS1: First battle was a walk. I didn’t even kill every enemy that I could have. Second battle was a nail bitter. It literally came down to last minute. We ended up winning by 2 points. Defensive wins by both me and our fearless clan leader sealed the deal. Third battle we were severely out gunned, and most of us didn’t bother trying to win.
ANN: What was the most memorable part of the battle rounds for you?
L: Defiantly the last half hour of round two. I remember refreshing page over and over again to watch as the score kept flip flopping.
ANN: Nothing like a good old fashioned Donnybrook. Did you have any trouble with the opponent’s specialists?
L: I mostly faced specialist that were a lot lower levels than me, and burnt them down with ease.
ANN: That always helps when you have a few extra weapon slots and armor. What is your favorite part of Clan Wars?
L: Well, the competition is awesome. Going head to head with other clans is fun. I really like the Front line and point mech KoTM during war as well.
ANN: Yes, those are wild free for all fights. The “Plague effect” on your Stimpacks and Hateraides is in full effect. Are you going to take advantage of them, or hold off for a while ?
L: Hello my name is Larson and I’m a Hateraide-aholic.
ANN: That’s funny. Would you like to see more raid story and gameplay crossover events? Do you have any suggestions, or anything you would like to see?
L: I like the cross over events. Unfortunately I don’t quest much anymore. It kinda sucks that in order to be a high ranking pilot you have to ignore quests, which used to be my favorite part of the game.
ANN: I would like to see some new quests. Have you found or purchased one of the new Spitfire mechs?
L: Negative.
ANN:What do you think of the Spitfire design?
L: Looks pretty nice. Shoulder missile pods are little clunky looking. I like the idea of missile pods on shoulders, but maybe a sharper design.
ANN: What are you hoping to score from the raid? Mechs? Equipment? Anything is good?
L: Yeah, I’ll take anything really. I would love a new shiny niode mech, but don’t really have the niodes to level it if I did get one.
ANN: Thankfully we have the daily kits. Nasty new bug mech in the raid. Would you like one or should they stay “bad guys” only?
L: The lil scorpion things are pretty cool. I would take one, but I think they should be a low weight class if we get’ em.
ANN: That would be nice. There hasn’t been a new light mech in a while. Any other comments you wish to add?
L: Love the game. Keep up the good work devs.
ANN: Thanks for talking to us.
Clan Wars 3310 – Post Event
Mycroft Holmes #710713 with
xZydrex #951026
ANN: Here we are, about to wrap up the post war interviews for this round, but we have a couple more newcomers to the studios to fill us in on the events from Kong space. We’re sort of the bastard stepchildren of the galaxy, but that can’t be helped. Actually, it can a bit. Interviews are now available so Kong players can grab a few Niodes as well.
Our new friend hails from the Space Monkey Mafia, Silver Medal winners in their division. Will you describe or give a quick summary of each round.
xZydrex:We were assigned to Division 10 and our first opponent was Smurf Militia. It was a 50-50 match but in the end we overcome them with sheer force. Our advance was halted though by the forces of the Opal Dragons, they severely damaged our mechs and our morale with a very rapid win.We retreated, only to fight another day against Abattoir, who were not ready to face the might of our mecha’s. With this we resulted in a 2-1 situation granting us the Silver medal. My second clan war was a success.
ANN: A Silver medal is a success in Clan wars. Well done. What was the most memorable part of the battle rounds for you?
x:It was the moment I won a fight against a pilot whose tons were greater than mine.I felt that i’m not just useful for my clan but I can carry them to further heights!
ANN:Excellent. It’s alway nice to get a win against a stronger opponent. Did you have any trouble with the opponent’s specialists?
x:My clan’s officer advised us not to take fights we cannot win and I went with that rule only breaking it once to fight a specialist. Fighting under his conditions had me unprepared and I got defeated soundly.I did not take another on after this.
ANN:Yes, specialists can be tricky. What is your favorite part of Clan Wars?
x:For my favourite part, that would be common among fellow pilots, is of course the prizes. After a long and hard fight your prize is the ultimate achievement. With some luck you will get the desired prize.
ANN:Speaking of that, what did you score from the raid? Mechs? Equipment? Anything good?
x:Considering the amount of tons I destroyed I expected more, but in the end I got a Jottun and a Gigus along with some cool weaponry and equipment, making me much stronger and adding to my tonnage.
ANN:You have to like that. It’s always nice if you can get mechs you are not able to purchase. The “Plague effect” on your Stimpacks and Hateraides is in full effect. Are you going to take advantage of them, or hold off for a while ?
x:I am a hardcore user of both.My mecha’s are on fire and so is my whole crew, our aim is ever so perfect, our joints and gears well oiled, but we all feel a strain upon us.We need to make a fast progress but its weighing down upon us. Just a little more hatoraide!I lust for battle!
ANN: Well said. I like it. Have you noticed the odd events centered around Novum? Seems the gateway there is malfunctioning.
X:It occurred right after i had defeated Tory.We were tired and our mecha needed repairs but we could not leave. The gateway won’t work, the people are gone, every street was silent. We were caught in the middle of something we did not know.
ANN: Have you found or purchased one of the new Spitfire mechs? What do you think of the mech’s abilities?
x:In fact I won one. At first I thought, why would I bother leveling a light niode mech? Then i saw it.The full potential of a missile hunter-killer,light assasin mech. His ability to dispatch 3 or even 4 enemies by itself is disturbing. The 1.5x along with 2.x goes a long way. Very handy.
ANN: Yes, the Spitfire is only the second Mecha to have the 1.5X ability. And if you level it enough there is also 3X. Makes for some deadly missile spreads. Nasty new bug mech in the raid. Would you like one or should they stay “bad guys” only?
x:Oh,that is something I hear buzzing around a lot. I like the fact we have different enemies for special occasions,it adds a nice detail. I think it should remain “bad guys” though, some things remain cool because you just can’t have them.
ANN:True, there are some cool looking raid mechs.
x:I really like this interview. I don’t care for the Niodes,i just wanted to share my experiences and opinions with someone.
ANN:Actually the devs pay for the interviews because they want to hear back from the players.
x:People in the chat don’t talk that much thats true.I would like to have people around that enjoy talking strategies and stuff
ANN:Last question. Do you have anything you would like to see added to the game, or any comments to add?
x: As for a comment,i truly enjoy playing this game, good job to everyone creating and making it better. I can see myself playing for a long time.
ANN:That’s great. Weapons get released fairly often, the limited quantity types. Equipment is added slower, to make sure there is some of that balance you mentioned (I think)
Mechs, I see around one new design every month or two. Keep your eyes open.

frenemiesforever #959174
ANN: Up next in the studio is a fellow who goes by the unlikely name of frenemiesforever . Tell us, what clan do you call home? Where did you fight in Clan Wars?
F: Spring Chickens (formerly powerful peeps), div19, Silver medal
ANN: Ah.. peeps and now Chickens. I see what you did there…Describe or give a quick summary of each round.
F: 1st round we defeated my minions in a relatively uneventful match. 2nd round, Pakopaikka, who gave us trouble in CW3309, but we were able to defeat again. For gold medal match we fought Kell Hounds, or more accurately, we watched them destroy us. Props to them on using a winning strategy. They had all put in some serious effort to powerlevel their way to an easy gold.
ANN: True, sometimes you run into a clan that makes you rethink your strategy. What was the most memorable part of the battle rounds for you?
F:Probably watching Kell Hounds sweep through and demolish everyone in the division.
ANN:Did you have any trouble with the opponent’s specialists?
F:Not too much. Pakopaikka has some really strong rainbow mini’s, but we were ready for them.
ANN: It seems Rainbow formations are under appreciated, especially at low levels. What is your favorite part of Clan Wars?
F:Probably when the divisions are announced—the excitement of looking at which division we fell into and how we match up with opponents. Also really enjoy the excitement of close matches when they happen.
ANN:The “Plague effect” on your Stimpacks and Hateraides is in full effect. Are you going to take advantage of them, or hold off for a while
F:I hope it’s a permanent effect, but I’ve been holding off so far…
ANN: MUST. RESIST. URGE. TO. CLICK. Have you noticed the odd events centered around Novum? Seems the gateway there is malfunctioning.
F:No way! Sounds dangerous. I hope they get that fixed soon. I’ve been staying home in my jammies.
ANN:Have you found or purchased one of the new Spitfire mechs? What do you think of the mech’s abilities?
F:I found one on Pirate Moon but was informed my level was too low—so bummed. I would really like one, since fork can be so strong. The 1.5x damage also seems like it would come in handy to help cut through some of the more heavily shielded mechs, and if matched with 2x or 3x overcharging could give 1 hit kills left and right. But I guess I’ll just have to settle on a dread for now.
ANN:What are you hoping to score from the raid? Mechs? Equipment? Anything is good?
F:Just hoped for some weapons and maybe a dread or orcus. Our raid rewards were a little disappointing compared to last CW. I was very happy with the silver medal reward though (keradon). We ended up letting one of our newer members solo most of the raid, and I heard he made out really well. I just jumped on at the end to help close it out.
ANN: Yes, the addition of mechs for all clans that medal is nice. Nasty new bug mech in the raid. Would you like one or should they stay “bad guys” only?
F:Where would I put my cupholders? I prefer my comfy mech with a full bar.
ANN: Good point. Any other comments to add?
F:Just to thank developer’s and staff at mechagalaxy for creating a great game and continually adding new content. Awesome job.
Clan Wars 3310 – Post Event
Mycroft Holmes #710713 with
Violent J #960382
ANN: Our next guest is a brand new pilot fresh from his first Clan Wars. ICP-Insane Clown Posse took a Bronze in D20 in their first attempt at this event. Not a bad beginning. Tell us a little about it.
Violent J: We lost first 2 rounds I believe, won 3rd round, being our first Clan Wars we really didn’t know what to expect, and were out leveled by first 2 clans, 3rd clan I think had several lower level members so all ours got points.
ANN: If everyone in the clan can get points, it’s a good sign. Did you try to use specialists? Did you have to fight against any?
Violent J: As far as specialist we had 10t and the clans we faced either didn’t have any or had the same, we did vids so we could have those lasers since most our members were under level 8 and couldn’t get better weapons at the time.
ANN: Smart move there, and you can always sell those later to buy bigger and better weapons. Whats next for you guys?
Violent J: We’re looking forward to next CW and have been active in KOTM’s and recruiting. We have some members moved out and some new players join, guess that’s common but most are the same right now..who knows by time next cw starts.. so far it’s fun we’ll keep it going.
ANN: Have you seen the new Spitfire mech in any of the missions?
Violent J: Not many of our guys do missions, and we can’t buy those spitfire mechas.
ANN: Well, not yet anyway. How about the raid? Did you get anything good from that?
Violent J:We didn’t do raid this time because half our clan said they’d not be available and a couple said they didn’t want to level that fast for the possible prizes..so would have been only 3 members hitting and would have been lots of leveling and time, not sure we could have finished and that would have been worse.
ANN: Yes the raid really is a team event. Are you planning on trying missions or KotM to power up a bit before the next war?
Violent J: As far missions we were all doing them and our highest member last war frank castle, unlocked first boss and was excited to do the boss fight but had used all his energy and stims to unlock it, so was going to do boss fight next morning after everything got refilled, when he went to do it all the mini bosses were reset and boss locked, he said it cost him 2 levels to unlock it and felt betrayed it reset without him getting to fight boss, that made rest of clan stop doing missions because they didn’t want the same thing to happen to them, he left clan after unlock..thought he might have quit but seen him in kotm so he joined another clan. So as of now my clan members are just doing kotm’s and CW’s and looking forward to next one.
ANN: I don’t know what would have caused that. There is a timer on the boss, but you can try it again if you don’t finish. Good luck and let us know how you do in the next event.

LarsonS1 #827016
ANN: Live from the wilds of Kong space,it’s interview time. We are talking to LarsonS1 of the HF: Dragoons. Busy times in the Galaxy. Did you score some nice loot from the Click-a-thon to bring to the next Clan Wars event?
LarsonS1: Yeah, I got a couple pretty good weapons out of it.
ANN: Free is a very good price. Do you think you will be taking a specialist role for this one?
L: Well I was going to, but war kinda snuck up on me and I forgot to select a specialist position.
ANN: Only three slots available this time so that not a bad thing really. Maybe there will be more next time (or even some new twists on specialist use, hint hint) Do you think you’re ready to face whatever various formations your opponents toss at you?
L: I don’t foresee any issues facing the other specialist.
ANN: That’s a good feeling there. What do you think of the new line of Shields? Does the dual coverage type interest you?
L: I haven’t looked closely at them yet. I will have to investigate. But yeah, dual type sounds like it may come in handy.
ANN: With the boss resets on Vupa and Novum are you heading out to do some missions?
L: NO.
ANN: Alright then, not a fan of missions, gotcha. Looks like Gorax will finally get tracked down at the end of this CW. Have you enjoyed the story crossover into the game? Would you like to see more of this type thing, or are you happy as long as you have something to blow up?
L: Well blowing things up does make me happy, but I enjoy a good story line as well.
ANN: The Missions give you a chance to blow stuff up, just saying….Have you seen any mysterious hints at things to come, in your travels?
L: Negative.
ANN: I’m sure there are a few around. Any other comments you want to add?
L: Good luck everyone In the upcoming war.
ANN: Yes. And remember to play mean. This is a war!
Clan Wars 3312 post event interviews
Mycroft Holmes #710713 with
xZydrex #951026
ANN:Joining us from the wilds of Kong Space is the enigmatic xZydrex of the Space Monkey Mafia. He’s here to share a few of his exploits in the recent Clan Wars. Let’s start of with a recap. How did you and your clan fare in the event.
1Xzydrex: Once again we joined the clan war even with great expectations. We joined division 9 and the first fight with The Brotherhood-1st Kearney Highlanders was lost with tremendous deficit .With damaged morale we marched to the second fight only to be defeated once again by (HF) Mobile Infantry. Our third fight, although close was also lost and The Krauts defeated us.Our defeat though is just temporary.
ANN: Some tough competition there. Some players don’t participate in the raids due to RL or time constraints of sometimes having to grind. Do you have any ideas on how to make the raids more player friendly, or is it fine how they are?
X: I think the raids are working fine as long as you are familiar with the game.I think there are many players unaware of the raids,be it after clan wars or mission boss raids. Some ingame tips would be helpful for everyone.
ANN: In case you missed the announcement, all clans will be required to field one 10 Ton Max as one of their specialists slots next war. What do you think about that?
X: About the 10-ton specialist, that could be tricky to pull out.It requires someone to spend a good amount of time preparing for it but on the other hand the fact that the clan wars rules are constantly changing gives a nice diversity to the event, I would like to see more of that.
ANN: So are you already set to fight a 10 Ton every round?
X: No,for sure not,I definitely did not expect something like that and yes it caught me unprepared. But since it’s a prerequisite to enter the event many people (and maybe me) will grow a red-ant army equipped with insane weapons and just have fun with it.
ANN: I think you may be right. A nice bonus is that Red Ants temporarily are upgrading faster. At least that will take some of the challenge of getting a formation ready down a bit. Do you have a favorite type you prefer to run, or do you prefer an unlimited?
X: I prefer the unlimited because it provides you with endless possible line-ups in combination with missile specialist to provide an edge to my mechas since my favourite types to go with are missile and fire.
ANN: Are there any types of Specialist you would like to see added or rotated into Clan Wars? Any changes you would suggest for the existing types?
X: I haven’t even tried half of the specialists yet because they are so many. The diversity they provide is game-changing and can turn many events around.I would suggest though not to increase their number by too much because it might cause balance problems with specific line-ups/specialists combinations.
ANN: What do you think of the Notos? If you haven’t seen it yet, the stats are posted on the players page.
X: Heavy mechs are expensive ones, not only to level but to equip aswell. To buy a mech is to make an investment. You must be able to keep a nice pace with your crystal farming and the leveling process of the mecha in order to achieve a fast leveling.Buying new mechs in pairs works very well since its considerably easy to keep them going as you level.I mainly focus on my new units to be upgraded and ready to war but I also keep a close eye on my main battle armada. You should always check for improvments and devise new ideas about line-ups if you want to be competitive.
ANN: Tory has a new weapons stash for us to raid. What do you think of the Illyrian Torch as the replacement for the old Liquid Torch prize?
X: Change is always good and this case proves it once more. After the big success of the Illyrian Flare another member of the family joins in. I am in big anticipation for this weapon aswell future weapons of the same family. As a flame weapon fan i raise my fist in approval!
ANN: Anything else to add.
X: I actually have a question. With the recent change in the Spitfire’s arsenal,2 boomboxes were replaced with 2 brand new and more powerful Spitfire racks,a weapon only Spitifire owns.I own a Spitfire before the change of arsenal and i think many people do.Would it be possible to give us just the Spitifre racks? Buying a new spitifire could be tough since it costs enough niodes.
ANN: I don’t know the answer to that. I guess we’ll have to wait and see.
Clan Wars 3313 Mid event updates
Mycroft Holmes 710713 with
Thorsword 950563 Red Alert {BHG}
ANN: Coming to you from the wilds of Kongspace a few new Clan Wars interviews with those who are not often heard from. First up is Thorsword of Red Alert {BHG}. I always thought Thor had a hammer, but that doesn’t matter right now. So, to start what division are you in and how has your clan fared so far?
Thorsword: Division 12, and 1 win, 1 loss, so far. I believe we have fared quite well, with what has been against us to date. We had HF: Black Sheep Squadron 1/1 VMF, our first go round. then for our second Emerald Dragons was a well fought , but just too many losses for a good fight.
ANN: any prediction for round three?
Thorsword: I honestly don’t know who we will be up against this 3rd time. I do believe we will give the Clans a fight worth betting for and against.
ANN: That’s a good outlook. Tell us a little about BHG. What does that stand for and how many BHG clans are there?
Thorsword: The name Black Hole Generator hasn’t been explained to me, however with the Pilots I fight with it seems to me that the name is synonymous with the way we leave formations in a black hole as we pass thru. We currently have approximately 6 Clans ranking from Division 15 to Division 5, with many more willing to join our ranks. From the Colonies that are overrun to the overzealous spoiled kids who seem to have holes in their pockets, we seem to gather them all. Once we get them, we get them, we train them, give them time to train on the formations of their choice, and allow them to act within honorable guidelines.
ANN: Very nice. What are your thoughts on the mandatory 10 Ton specialist for this event?
Thorsword: I actually like it. It mandates a formation that even though some of us lower classed Pilots can’t beat the upper classed Pilots, it still puts on the same level as far tonnage per Mecha limitations. We may be out Mecha’d, But we won’t be outclassed on this requirement.
ANN: I like the way you think. Have you and your clanmates been taking advantage of the rapid upgrade times for the Red Ants?
Thorsword: We have had the Ants for a good while now, So I don’t think any are aware of any rapid upgrades available. So, what advantage are you alluding to?
ANN: For the last few weeks Red Ant upgrade times have been halved or more due to a new mineral discovered by the Radix Tribe. Rumor has it that this is a limited time effect due to a shortage of the mineral. Rumor has it that this is a limited time effect due to a shortage of the mineral.
Thorsword: I haven’t heard that, or payed attention to it. At any rate,it hasn’t affected {BHG}, as we already have our Ants to Spec. I just haven’t heard word of this. Does this also account for the Krampus tripling in price? I stand corrected…more than 10X it’s going rate it seems.
ANN: That is a new development due to Genghis Khan’s forces capturing the Krampus factories. I imagine that a majority of the Clans will have to defeat their raids to reverse that situation
Thorsword: A phasing out of one Mecha to allow for an Ant?
ANNeditor: I don’t believe the two are related. What would you think of the mandatory specialist continuing in future events? Maybe with a different type? Maybe 20 ton or a weapons specialist?
Thorsword: Well, it’s not my place to question the factories nor the Faction Leaders, I guess. It seems the mass Media will do it for us. I can see weapon Specialists coming Thank you.up in the near future the way this is going honestly. Including WS on particular Mechs as well.
ANN: that seems a bit drastic but you never know. Any other comments you want to add?
Thorsword: Yes. I like the way it has tied the story as well. And also see either more folks leaving due to being too lazy, or actually waking up and starting to play, FINALLY!!
ANN: Yes, participation is a good thing. Good Luck in your final round.
Thorsword: Thank you.
