Clan Wars 3313 Post Event Interviews
Mycroft Holmes #710713 with
Larson S1 # 827016
ANN:From the wilds of Kong space comes one of our favorite wildmen, Larson S1.
Give us a short summary of each round. How did you fare against each opponent?
L: We had an easy win, close loss, close loss. Ended up with a Bronze.
ANN: Do you like events with a large number of specialists, like this one, or with less?
L: Six in one, half a dozen the other.
ANN: It doesn’t matter to you as long as you have someone to shoot, eh? Does the number of specialists affect your planning for an event?
L: Nope.
ANN: Does that mean you’re ready for any formation type? It seems the Krampus factories have been overrun by Genghis Khan. This is the first time a mech has been taken out of production. What are your thoughts on that?
L: Well I’m ok with it I guess… wish I would had bought more Krampus before they hit black market.
ANN: The good news is they are back to normal after the defeat of Genghis. The mandatory Red Ant formation has generated a bit of discussion. Do you think that is a fun addition? Would you like to see other types selected for future events? Maybe a Rainbow type or weapon type?
L: I like the idea. I think it should be a low ton mech limit. Maybe 10 or 20. Rainbow doesn’t really level the playing field like a 10 ton max
ANN:There is quite a bit of new weapons and equipment being released. Any of it high on your wish list?
L: All of it.
ANN: I can relate to that. What did you score from the raid?
L: I got the 100% stuff and one Jottun that I will not use.
ANN: What do you think of the 100% chance weapons added to the raids?
L: Well without them I wouldn’t have gotten anything this time, but I think I rather have more chances at better weapons.
ANN: The raids do seem to be a bit all or nothing. Still you did get a mech, which seems to be the standard on which raids are judged. Any other thoughts you want to add?
L: Keep calm and slaughter on.
ANN: I couldn’t agree more.

Full Metal Combat League
Event: E Pluribus Unum Chrono
Aug. 3313
Welcome back Mecha Maniacs! This is a special final edition of FMCL for me. Sadly other duties at ANN have pulled me away from this desk. But never fear, we have someone very special lined up to bring you all the highlights, lowlights, mayhem and carnage that is King of the Mountain. This event being no exception. A combo event, this time we have the Classic (Clan Wars Feature) Single Rainbow combined with the Chrono format. Who can hold the top top spot longest for the most point awards? As you know the longer the event, the faster the points come. This event was just over two days in length, meaning by the final day of the event points were awarded four times as fast as on the first day. A savvy veteran could easily take the top spot even if they joined the show later than the rest of the competitors.
Without further ado, or really any ado at all we are going to slide over the the tech shop and see what we have there. And what we have is great big toys. The latest series of heavy weapons released for your mech smashing pleasure is mid-way through release. These monsters have a whopping 135 base damage potential. Easily enough to vaporize a level 100 Red Ant in one shot. These weapons also feature secondary effects that are not generally found on their particular weapon type. At one time you could predict that Lasers would include Precision, Projectiles would include Trample, etc. etc. Not with these. Now we have some Crit-kill missiles and 2X/3X Ice weapons. A nice improvement in my not very humble opinion. As of this episode we are still waiting for the Projectile and Fire units to be released, but I’m sure they will be every bit as impressive as the others in this series. These weapons roll out at a base price of 59 Niodes each, but do have the standard bulk purchase option. The KotM ruling committee has placed a limit of 35-40 (depending on model) per pilot.
Of course for most of us it will be a case of win it before you can but it as you have to be well over level 100 to buy these lovely toys. But hey, let’s not end on a down note. If things follow the general trend some time after all these are out, we may start to see another cycle of high end Crystal weapons as well. Keep your fingers crossed.
Now, let’s take a look at at the final scores.
Div1 Fabio Favoro of Fusion
Div2 Daniel Scott of HF: Highlanders
Div3 Terry Cole of Zeon

Div8 Siegfried Gust of THUNDERBIRD {BHG}

Clan Wars 3321 Pre-event Interviews
Mycroft Holmes #710713 with
LarsonS1 #827016
ANN: Deep in the wilds of Kongspace and live in the ANN mobile studios we have another pilot waiting to tell their tale. LarsonS1, welcome. What Clan are you fighting in this time and what Division do you expect to be in?
LarsonS1: I fight for HF Dragoons, Iim not too sure what Division we will be in, but I am always up for a fight.
ANN: As any pilot should be. Any prediction on medal for your clan?
L: Sadly I don’t see gold in our future, but I would love silver.
ANN: Just coming out of a Squad Wars has there been any reorganization in your clan?
L: Well coming off our poor performance in Squad wars, I’m happy to be back in full clan. Hope to bring home a medal this time.
ANN: I see, good luck to you with that. There have been some recent clan changes , Dragons/Brotherhood merger and some changes to D1 clans, any thoughts or predictions for any of those clans?
L: Those are some of the more power clans, so I suppose they will be even stronger now. The middle ground grows thinner.
ANN: Any thoughts on what may be driving these changes?
L: I can't pretend to know what the powerful people are thinking.
ANN: Fair enough. Has Dr. Drake or any of his clones stolen any of your KotM medals? What do you think he’s up to now?
L: I haven’t noticed any missing, but he better keep his sticky fingers off my hard earned trophies.
ANN: Yeah, well good luck with that as well. That guy seems to be everywhere. The last couple times he showed up he introduced a new mecha to the Galaxy (Anubis and Antithesis). Do you think he may have constructed another secret factory?
L: I sure hope so. I wonder if it’s a new KOTM prize since he is stealing trophies.
ANN: Now there is an intriguing thought. Even though there hasn’t been enough time to fully upgrade the Pike mecha, it is already getting some praise. What do you think of it?
L: I am too low of a level to buy one, but if the factory would like to give me one to test out I would love to review it for them.
ANN: Can’t hurt to ask, I suppose. Up to four Specialists are allowed this time. Are you ready to face multiple types of formations? Also do you think you will take a slot?
L: I prefer to use my open squad, no restrictions, but I always have my spec formations ready to go.
ANN: Sounds like a solid battle plan. The Gigus booster will be in effect through the event. Do you think we will see more 80 ton max specials or possibly Fire specials? Do you think the Gigus will have a large impact in lower Divisions where pilots may have gotten a few from raids before they can purchase them?
L: A:Some might take advantage of this, but unless they have full squad of them I don’t think it will be enough to change the tide of battle.
ANN: Any comments, concerns, or wish list items for the Devs?
L: Best of luck in rumble everyone, and as always, I hope we meet on the field of valor so that I can melt your face.
ANN: Well said.
