I haven't happened to figure out how to apply equipment to my hero. Can anyone tell me how to do that? Also, are there any good deck building guides. Ex. What card types should be used to combat elves, dark elves, demons, etc?

On the Equipment, you can click the Equipment slots in the army section.
On Deck building, that’s more complicated. At the beginning it’s more like putting all of your best cards into one deck. Later it’s countering specific decks, not factions. In the middle it’s all about countering Hero’s and having a deck with some own good synergies. There is no guide as far as I know, but that’s why we are watching all of those fights. To see what works (and why) and what dosn't.

@ acro - One thing you could do for deckbuilding advice is check out our dedicated chat server, where there are channels for deckbuilding for each hero type.

It is also a good place to live-chat with devs (although right this minute we happen to be travelling a bit, but we're usually pretty reliably online daily anyway).
