This is an automated battles deckbuilding game. As such there's no possible way for there to be interactive PvP in the first place; but the strategy you use to fight other players has to do with choosing the proper hero, equipment and deck matchups. There's quite a bit of strategy in doing so and most top players have ~10 different decks they keep on hand for this purpose.
