ok yep, I grabbed that off the web but didn’t try it myself. Strange that firefox doesn’t seem to have any options of clearing it.
You can manually clear your indexed db though – I found them on my computer in Users//appdata/roaming/mozilla/firefox/profiles//storage/default/ and look for any folders that say ‘stormwars’ in their name and delete them. This will force the browser to redownload the entire game instead of its local cache, which I think should hopefully fix your problem.
Let me know how it goes…

I’ve closed all applications and still find myself stuck at the loading page at 100%. Nothing happens after that. I’ve got 2GB of RAM running on a Pentium Dual Core CPU E5800 @ 3.20GHz 3.20 GHz. Many thanks and am looking forward to joining the community!

hi ChungEe -
Thanks for the log, we aren’t exactly sure what is happening there, but the thing that stands out the most is:
[http://stormwars-live.s3-website-us-west-2.amazonaws.com/Release145b/WebGLRelease.data](http://stormwars-live.s3-website-us-west-2.amazonaws.com/Release145b/WebGLRelease.data) Failed to load resource: net::ERR\_CONTENT\_DECODING\_FAILED
Here, your computer is trying to fetch a compressed file (the game data) and decompress it, and for some reason it is blowing up. It could be that you only have 2GB of RAM, so the browser was unable to decompress the file and the game stopped loading.
Have you tried any of the possible solutions in the FAQ at the top of this thread? What browser and OS are you using? We have had several issues with firefox on windows 7 32 bit, though not sure if it is related.

Yeah, I’ve tried all possible solutions in this thread but to no avail. My OS is Windows 7 basic 32-bit. I’m currently using Chrome. Most other Kongregate games work though. Bummer :/

ChungE, really sorry about that. I’m trying to get a windows 7 box to do some tests on, if I can get the game running on it I’ll send you a PM.

Got a problem today, looks like the connection to the game server is extremly slow. I even though that there is no connection at all.
While starting page with Wren Moondancer and progress bar loaded quickly as usual, the progress bar is filling very slowly. Task manager also shows very low network activity.
It’s be good to have in-game indicator at starting page, which shows when there is no connection / connection is poor / connection is good.
p.s. after about a hour, during the game load, problem dissapeared – game finished loading at regular speed, network activity rised to a common speed;

So, for this entire day I wasn’t able to play. The game loads, but there is nowhere to input my login and password. This is all I see (plus console log) [http://imgur.com/a/678bd](http://imgur.com/a/678bd)
I tried clearing the cache, even manually deleting the folder to re-download the game. Didn’t help. The only thing that happened, the game window moved from the centre of the page to the upper left

Hi Acidwing – we have recently upgraded the website with a login system and you are instead going directly to the s3 hosting service. Please direct your browser @ [www.stormwarsgame.com](http://www.stormwarsgame.com) and you should be able to log in there.

Yeah, it works now. Thanks!

Hey Storm ... I don't know if its the office network admins doing something fishy and blocking the game, but can you take a look at the logs below? I was playing fine until 10 minutes ago then the game hung and I had to refresh the game. Hadn't been able to load the game since:

Looking at the network logs, it seems to be trying to reach bosh1.kongregate.com repeatedly
Thanks :)
EDIT 1: The game was previously stuck on the Wren Moondancer background with 0 progress in the progress bar. After around 20 minutes wait, the progress bar is now full but the game is still not loading to the homescreen.

sorry guitarmediate, I really don't have a clue looking at those logs. It doesn't seem to be anything on our end or we would have gotten multiple reports - it could have been something kong was doing or possibly your network admin.
Sadly the javascript crash logs are mostly full of useless stuff, so we can only usually find the problem if we get multiple ones from different players showing the same issue. Thanks for reporting though!

Ok DerKevking, this error is caused because your browser can't allocate enough RAM (in this case 256MB) in order to load the game. If you are playing on windows 7 32 bit + chrome, there is a known bug that will keep the game loading, if so you should try with firefox or another non-IE browser. If you are on a different OS, try freeing up as much RAM as you can by closing down other browser tabs & applications. Many people play on PCs with 2GB of RAM, so it should be doable.

Finally it worked with chrome.

I had that issue many times too. I found that to fix it, I had to close ALL instances of firefox then open the game before anything else.
Not a programmer, but I believe the problem may come from webgl because:
1-I have 16GB of RAM, there is no way that's not enough for 3 browser games yet this still happens.
2-It only happen with webgl games. I can have way, WAY more games going at once without any issues if none of them use webgl.
3-I can open and play multiples non-webgl games without problems even after supposely not having enough RAM for stormwars or other webgl-based games without needing to close anything.

I've been playing the game without troubles the last three days, but since today, when the game starts loading, it is interrupted by a pop-up that aks me to "Please log in to Kongregate to play Storm Wars". Hoever, I am already logged in. Logging out and in again doesn't help, emptying the cache was also to no avail. If I push the button "Log in" on the pop-up, nothing happens aside from a short sound effect.
I am not even sure where the problem lies, my Kongregate Account or the game. Someone got an idea what to do?
|
|
|
metadata
Sorry for the late response FollowVergil, but usually this is caused by a plugin intefering with the game's ability to talk to the Kongregate servers for authorization. I would suggest trying to play in an incognito/private window, if this fixes the problem then check your plugins/browser configuration to see what might be causing it.

Hi, I'm playing on Chrome since a couple of months. This afternoon around 5pm, I was forced to reload the game, and I see that the loading screen was updated. Briefly, it's 9:32 pm, and the game is still loading at 31%. Tried all the above, don't really know what to do... The mobile version lags as well. Any idea?
