I wanted to start a discussion specifically around vanity items - Items that have no deck build value, or are functionally the same as existing items.
I think this would be a comparatively easy way to add fun and maybe some profit for the game devs. Comparative to other feature requests, it would require minimal programming workload, and wouldn't cause community backlash over game balance.
**Some possible ways to get vanity items:**
1. Included in special shop deals
2. Available for purchase in Gem Shop during specific holiday or promotional dates
3. Chance to appear in Singles Shop
4. Chance to get a random vanity item from 25/25 tourney score
5. Chance to drop from chests during specific holiday or promotional dates
6. Awarded at Live Stream events
7. Some always available in specific Vanity Item section of shop
8. ?
**Ideas**:
1. **More cardbacks.** Personally I find all the cardbacks unattractive - They could use some cardbacks using a similar art style as the card fronts. Maybe they're themed? Atlantean cardback, Dark Elf cardback, etc.
2. **Alternate Hero Art. ** Lots of possibilities here.
3. **Unique/Limited Edition Summon Equipment.** Functionally identical to existing summon equip, but with different art. Example A: Engineer = "Snowman". Still 1/8, still reinforces walls, still Atlantean. However, the art is a snowman (obviously) and the summon equip is maybe "Packed Snowball" with corresponding art. Example B: Dire Rabbit = "Dire Easter Bunny". Summon equip is "Rotten Easter Egg"
4. **Unique/Limited Edition Units.** Functionaly identical to existing cards but with new art. Example: Sir Valimont = Lord Fax.
5. **Cards or equip that do absolutely nothing.** They would just look funny. Imagine fighting a top 10 opponent. L-Seval, Marileth, L-Nokosa, L-Alara, L-Rubber Duckie.... and L-Rubber Duckie is 0/1 with 4 CD. Also, imagine that you see L-Rubber Duckie enter play right before you lose the battle.
6. ?
Thanks for reading, and hoping you all can add to this!

I remember once I was 19 wins in the tourney, and one more to go. It was sunny afternoon, and I saw some ppl I don t want to risk with. SO i bought coins, and refreshed, the list gave me the guy I beated 4 times easilly, Baron Coldhart. Cards went wrong, my first 3 were just waiting for 3 allied that never came, and I lost. As Otto von Bismarck said, Never trust an Italian as an ally, Russia will never be a normal country, I forget about the third one.

Remember that getting card art to be made is quite expensive, unless it's absolute joke art you don't even WANT to look at because Storm and Valimont make it in Microsoft Paint themselves...

Joking aside I actually think kills has some excellent ideas. :)

A long time ago, we talked with Storm several times in chat about selling cosmetics. He liked the idea and made the different card backs but then there was never anything more.

To expand on this idea:
**Upgradeable Ships**
Sir Valimont once said (paraphrased)
> "Did you notice that you travel around in a flying ship, and the menu screen is a view of ship's deck?"
An upgradeable or customizable "house" or "castle" is a common concept in other games. Although I don't think we should turn the ship into a dollhouse where you can buy all your furniture and stuff, it would be nice to see the appearance of your ship change based on achievements, crew status, etc. For example:
* Win 1000 battles - 1 row of cannons added
* Win 2500 battles - 2nd rows of cannons added
* Win 5000 battles - Cannons become giant cannons
* Win 5000 arena battles - Unlock black sails
* etc
Perhaps you could see another player's ship in crew, or when right-clicking on their name in pvp areas, or in a crew's "fleet" (explained later)
**Crew Islands**
Every crew would get a "Crew Island" - basically their own flying island. These islands could appear bigger or more sophisticated based on the crew rank, crew age, and crew achievements/unlocks. This would probably be on its own game screen, accessible by:
1. Clicking icon on the main campaign map that looks like a cluster of floating islands that says "Private Islands" or something.
2. If you are not part of a crew, this would replace the view for the "Join a crew" screen
**Crew Ports**
Clicking on any Crew Island would let you visit their Crew Port. If you are a member of a crew, your crew button would take you directly to your crew port.
If you don't belong to the crew, your view will be limited - you'll basically just see
* Unlocked crew buildings/trophies/features - a feature could show up for each crew card unlocked. If the crew has unlocked Niven, you'll see a fantastically huge tree somewhere in the port.
* Their members' ships, as a fleet in the harbor
So if you're in a rank 50 crew, you can visit the rank 1 crew and be really impressed. Scary looking ships and a super fancy port.
However, as a crew member, you'll see
* Unlocked crew buildings/trophies
* Your members' ships, as a fleet in the harbor
* Upgradeable crew buildings/features
* Crew management
* Crew chat
**Upgradeable Crew Buildings**
A way to invest in your crew, building stronger crew loyalty while also being a useful coin or gem sink. Some ideas:
* Bank - Crew coin bonus multiplier can increased by 1% based on coin investment, with diminishing returns. +1% requires 100k coins, +2% requires 200k coins (300k total), +3% requires 500k coins (800k total) etc. (Devs could probably find a good rate for this based on their player data, or balance by slightly reducing the base crew coin bonus.)
* Um, that's all I could think of right now, but there must be more.
