I have not been recording my progress too much, ‘coz I’ve been trying too hard to optimise.
I _think_ I was the first person (other than the dev) to get kilo, about 9 hours ago at the time of posting.
I’m about to destroy most of this stuff, ‘coz I have to upgrade which changes the ratio, so I thought I’d record it in case it helps. It’s far from perfect;
Pre-plastic, to get it; the ratio was 3 IO to 2 IF, and 4 IF to 3 SF, so I did this. I think it’s good, for that time;

After getting plastic, I upped gas once, so I had lots of 2 oil, 2 gas, 1 coal to 1 plastic, for a while. Didn’t record that. Later I had to up plastic, so was 4 oil per. Was a complicated nightmare, so here are 4 pics,

I’m about to remove it all, to up to 1 oil per plastic. Just wanted to record it for posterity.

Might as well throw up my two.
My steel setup, lasted me until I got plastic. Upgrades are coal buyer 1, steel foundry 1, iron foundry 2, iron buyer 3, steel seller 1

And my plastic setup I had running for a long time, requires the first gas and oil upgrades along with the second coal upgrade.

sockcooker you far behind me and some other ppl too, they just not posting here, how come you can handle this offline progress and you were so complaing about it on reactor? Btw you sent to much stuff by one road and you build too long roads, it is inefficient

Hi. When quoting posts here, please don’t unnecessarily re-post lots of images; it makes it hard to read. I removed them.
I’ve not seen or heard from anyone further ahead – apart from Baldurans, and one person who got infinite research via a bug. I’ve spoken to 3 others who’ve got kilofactory (a little after I got it). Xavion3 is currently around the same point as me – he has more research but less spaces right now. It’s interesting to compare.
It’s quite possible that others are further ahead – I didn’t start playing until about 1 day after it was out. I’d love to hear from them.
In “reactor idle”, I reached a stage where it was unrealistic to make further significant progress without running the program 24/7, and I am currently unable to do that.
For this game – I don’t yet know if that will be a similar problem or not, but the ‘background mode’ helps considerably.

Researching on Kilo, to get electronics;

Cost is around -$4000/tick.
Factory is making around 10-12k/tick – it was at 1:1:1, as posted previously – I actually upgraded things so it is 1 coal/gas to 2 makers, but that doesn’t help; because of the complexity of the layout, it earns less! Not recommended.

Kilo takes maybe a couple days to get to, including rebuilding and figuring things out. Some people have been playing this game for weeks.

i hate to tell you this, but outright builds aren’t going to work out well.
general gameplay tips and some light configurations, yes… but you may be changing your entire build every time you upgrade something (or not)
i’m also at a similar point to wapnoziom, only i’m spec’ing money over research :P

this change is temporary as I am saving research for tanks, after that I will come back to income, how far are you from tank?

have 6b research, avg prod roughly 8k/t (range 6.8k-9k). just got 10tick/s. debating on tank or clean metal… and i’m thinking tanks.
was debating swapping to more research, want to get 4th area mega first (60t) and have 25t (though i may burn a bunch getting a3 research spec’d)
could fit 1 more, maybe another half on top of that… would be a pitfa though.

Top right, A7, is really tricky. After a LOT of thinking… I managed to get 5 in there, without using A8.

yeah, that area is a massive pain in the rear. especially once you get enough upgrades so you need two outputs per…
looks like you forgot an output to the left, immediately left of the oil feeder from the other side.
also, if you’re going to have the oil run that far, you may as well move it up
and if you’re going to move it up, you might want to move the offending plastics right one
and if you’re going to do that, you may want to just reorganize the whole thing again :P

on closer look, i think you goofed a second part

Eh? they’re all fine.
All 100%, all sending all plastic to be sold.
The top-right just needed the conveyor removing/replacing, to make it send it the right way again.
The left part is largely irrelevent; the point was, re just A7. Admittedly, feeding in gas and oil.
Moving the oil up is fine, but doesn’t change anything at all?

the one with 3 arrows is **not** fine, you’ll see it if you clear tracks. it would feed plastic to the trash.
moving it up allows you to shift some stuff a little to the right, which may or may not change how you place things.

I needed to put that conveyor back, is all. It’s fine now, in the more recent pic above?
Sorry, I wasn’t worrying about that part when I posed it; I was just really talking about A7 itself.

i just looked a bit closer at a7 as well. you have the same problem, if you clear tracks you’ll notice one of them dump into trash…
and another one in a8… lol.

Why “OMG”?
it’s a reasonable question. I don’t think it’s possible to get megafactory and stuff in the time since the game was released (beta) on Kong. fine.
It’s a game. For fun.
Myself and many others are doing our best to make optimal progress. I _think_ I’m doing OK, along with Xavion3. He’s done a bit more research, I’ve done more money-making, It is FUN and interesting to compare.
Not so much fun to have people say “ooh, I have tanks” if you started weeks ago.
We’re having fun, working out the optimal ways to play the game in a legit way. We’re comparing, and posting builds that have already help others. What’s wrong with that?

Yes – it’s not possible to make optimal builds with ‘clear tracks’ to reset directions.

a fair point has been made to me that you don’t **have** to clear tracks and can clean out messes the old fashioned way… so i’ll stop pushing it onto people from here onward and instead suggest it as an alternative option.

Where have I said that what you are doing is wrong? I only said why I am not doing that, so take it easy as your attitude is not outstanding at the moment, as it should be,all right?
