I don’t know why KingK created the King of Duels, but here’s my opinion of it.
First off, Dream World is a business venture from day 1. If it still makes enough so that KingK supports it, great. There’s no such thing as a “fair share” – you contribute to the business or you don’t. Letting people play for free is part of the whole process of getting people to invest in the business. Some people never will, but some will like it enough to buy into it.
KoD is actually the fairest part of this game. I can compete regardless of my level. If I buy enough stuff I can get enough cards to win, and I don’t have to worry about my level at all. Seems pretty straight forward. You can win if you want to pay, or you can wait until you level up and get top cards the hard way. You may not think it’s fair, but who said it was supposed to be? If I were a game developer I would reward people who spent the most on my game. This seems like a way to reward anyone pretty quickly if they spend money. Every other part of the game you have to have high levels to compete. At level 91 I can’t fight Hell bosses, no matter what my awesome stats are after I spend thousands. I know I can win Fallen, but the point I’m making is that levels matter for every other part of the game.

Couldn’t have said it better myself. In this game, levels primarily serve as the prerequisite to access content – gear and map areas. Once this is achieved and the player approaches the boss(es), it is stats (be it through gear or raw stats) that dictates how successful the player is. And level does (almost) nothing to help the player. And this is where your “thousands of dollars” spent on stats will shine. Since stats do not have a cap and players a huge factor into the strength of the character, there is always something for players to do. Hitting level cap or gear hardcap is just the tip of the iceberg. The end game starts with pill hunting!

The fact that someone can gain such a large advantage by spending money in KOD I think is what turned people off from this game in the first place. I was initially sucked into Dream World because, as a free player, through hard work and time, I could keep pace with most other players that spent money on the game. This was great, and a far cry from most other browser based games. After KOD was implemented, gemming became such a large, insurmountable advantage to overcome. Some (like myself) decided to buy a couple cards & gems to keep pace. The majority, however, I think lost the will to play because the disadvantage was so pronounced.
All in all, I think KOD did more harm than good to server activity. Yes, there was likely an uptick in people purchasing gem packages in the short-term, but long-term, more people have left the game, and KOD is an underlying reason.
Leveling the playing field to using 45 cards would help, as someone would have to spend a SIGNIFICANT amount of money to have a definite advantage over an active ‘free’ player. Sure, you’ll still have some players that win KOD each week, but after the top tier of players, the playing field would be much more even.

I prefer the random top 45 cards.
I would also propose to stop giving cumulative points. A loss in the beginning is less penalizing than a loss in the last day because we have more fights to compensate for it. Instead the points attributed could be the number of wins in each fight (6 wins = +6 points, 10 wins = +10 points).
The current method or restricting it to allow players to switch the order of their chosen 10 cards will still allow to coordinate efforts by choosing a ‘winning set’ of 5 strong cards followed 5 weaker cards. By changing order, one could move to 1st place a weak card and have a ‘loosing set’.

Here are a few ideas (granted not earth shattering) but rather some tweaks. If you disagree, that’s ok, just don’t go nuclear on the idea you disagree with.
1. Get rid of power bar (b/c game gets very laggy when there is high activity) – give each skill a button and have it be max damage for that skill
2. Option of potion, skill book or dust when they drop
3. Have a separate vault to put in potions, skill books and dust where members can take one each hour
4. Level appropriate rewards for quests/drops – ex. why does a level 100 get star/alien items
5. New Players – to help build excitement and stats have the G.o.D/MB’s have a greater chance of pill drops up to level 80 or so
6. Island – bosses should drop +9 gear (esp Queen) to help lower players get stronger.
7. Cards – Have add’l badges for cards gained. ex. get all one star cards = 25e, two star = 20e, three star = 15e, four star = 10e, five star = 10e, six star = 5e, 7 star = 50e. This will help grinding and give equal chances to all levels.
8. Special doll – Once a week being able to purchase a special “Power Guardian Doll” which saves you everytime until your current skill points runs out. Price could be 20 gems
9. Chaos – once a month for 24 hours, open up ALL guilds so people can apply to any guild. They can’t be denied or kicked for the 24 hrs and guilds can have unlimited members during this period. There could be a 1-2 hour cooling off period to reduce members down to limit. If this is not done members are auto kicked starting with last to join.
10. Coin glut – you mentioned in last update too much coinage, so take cap off guild exp and make 5 trillion = 1% exp
11. Hell Bosses – have reward drops be similar to faction war where anyone can get a good drop and not just the top person

Some easy tweaks:
- Change **Fame** formula to include the number of FW fortresses taken down, Atlantis, Fallen, Alien Invasion and Mystic Wonders damage dealt. For instance, the points in the formula could be total guild damage in the last 2 or 4 weeks divided by 1 trillion (or some other number). This would make guild rankings more accurate.
- Change **Faction Power** formula to be dependant of the number of FW fortresses taken down by the guild in the last 2 or 4 weeks. Something like 2\*#FW2 + #FW1 should be enough to balance things out a bit. Or just blindly assign guilds randomly to each side (we would only know the side after joining).

Can you please sort the guild vault?

You may want to consider extending the game a bit and adding a better ending.

On the “Character” Page, be able to set a note, (no more than X amount of characters) for visitors to see.
Adds a little personality.
Perhaps through an additional button in the corner of the page labeled “Bio” or the such.

Start of Easter event would be a good time to raise level cap – give lvl 106 players a chance to move forward again

I am just hoping we have a good easter event this weekend. It is early this year.

If you REALLY wish to add some true endgame content, just add an extremely difficult boss that requires differents step in every previous event to summon.
Some ideas:
1) First you must gather 3 different Orbs to summon the real master of the Demon Gates. Which can be, dunno, a fusion of all 3 old bosses. Raid boss, obviously.
2) If you beat that, all the guild mates will be able to encounter in the Alien Invasion the Possesed form of Nahazir. Beating that you might drop the alien mcguffin.
3) Gathering enough Alien Mcguffins the guild will be able to open a special portal that lets you summon the Alien Overmind, another special raid boss.
4) Beating that boss will have possessed form of Isendel Bosses appear. Beat those and you might drop isendel mcguffins.
5) When you have enough of these, you will be able to summon the King of Isendel or something like that.
6) Beating that will enable you to find Possessed mine bosses, which will drop Mine McGuffins.
7) Gather enough to open the secret mine and fight the ultimate mine boss, which is, I dunno, the son of Hector and Lolith.
8) Beat that to have Hell Boss randomly drop hell McGuffins.
9) Gather enough and you will finally face the true final boss, the True Fallen. Just put some sunglasses on him and give him a gazillion of hit points and healing abilities. Yeah, you read that right. He heals over time.
10) Whoever beats him beats the final main quest and gets the Guardian of Dreams title.

I’m excited…new Stuff :) and Avalokitesvara ’s suggestion kinda cool, but strong players can beat those early bosses in 1 hit, but might be kewl for each player to ahve go go back to each area again to accomplish something :) get new “points”

A few other random ideas….
1) Faction war power – The current power system needs to be scrapped. The current system is all based on potential and not what is or has been done. There is enough data to make it a 5 or 10 week rolling average of fw (pts) killed. If a guild wants to go from fw2 to fw1 then power is capped at 20 since that is the max benefit on fw1.
2) If possible, make a fw3 area where it can be a monster health boss and have server 1 vs server 2. Instead of guild name it would just list the players on each side hitting. Not sure of the prize..gems maybe, but the competition would be more interesting.
3) More events like the Easter and Christmas events. During these events, have the option to buy a “bunny reset” for like 20 gems and/or unlimited bunny option up to mist cap for like 250 gems.
4) Any new roll outs needs to be available to the masses (in general). If all new features only can be accessed by level 106+, then it will be viewed as failure due to the grind from 100+.
5) Give lower levels access to see the action in areas they can’t hit yet. ex. if not able to hit mystic war, let them see others hit players/boss (kinda like to be able to shadow someone playing).

How about being able to join fw1 and fw2 (and fw3 if it’s in the works) at same time. This way the newer players can work on f1 and the stronger ones can do fw2 or fw3(if created). In doing this I think you should just click join fw button and it puts you random….maybe you have to click it before fw starts (have a 2 hr window) and then if it starts and you are not in, have to wait say 3-4 hrs before you can join (or whatever time you pick). It would help minimize the stacking of the sides.
Dancer’s idea #1 has my vote as well.

1) to my opinion: FW is most popular; AI is VERY unpopular
|
|
|

at 1) please create something like a FW when FW is not on, and PLEASE, give us a new badge at 1,000 b or 10,000b damage from next upgrade, from that moment, you ll get automatically the personal, and guild reward as on 16b
|
|
|

2) the main reason i m still in DW, is the guild, please create a higher guild then the one at the moment VOID +10, create Robo 1-10 at zillions of coins
|
|
|
metadata
3) remove all max of lvls, no longer a max at 106, or 108, forget about the max lvl, better KingK nd better for us
