So, I know others have mentioned this but I’m finding that gaining fame is actively bad. It’s so much easier to gain fame than it is to level up heroes and improve their abilities that I’ve completely stopped doing quests all together so I can grind my heroes up to snuff. It’s a difficult just keeping 4 heroes at max level for your fame.
The reason this matters is that it can be a royal pain to do pvp if your heroes aren’t up to level. All it takes is one max level with a rare offensive ability and good rng for the AI to hose you and the pvp is super important for improving characters. I would either increase the amount of fame needed for each level or decrease the fame given to heroes from quests.
Also, waiting 5 minutes for a key when it takes 6 keys to do anything is painfully long. It’s even worse because you lose your keys if the game crashes. Oddly arena keys get refunded but not dungeon keys? Dungeons should realistically be 3-4 keys with elites being around 5-6.
It’s a shame because this seems like a really fun game but these aspects are just making it highly annoying to play.

The idea for this is for you to convert gems to gold, and thus have incentive to spend $

You competitive players… It’s true that gaining fame puts you against people with higher fame, but that’s the only “bad” thing about it. The thing about pvp is you don’t choose which character represent you when you’re defending, so you will find that you will usually see one untrained character in the opponent party (likely because he didn’t have cards for the character). If people start grinding their characters early, it won’t be very beginner friendly – which will just call for more and more grinding. If you do gain fame, you’ll notice that your party size increases – which means it’s harder to grind, but also its harder for other people to grind, so the arena becomes relatively easier at lvl 9, 12 etc. you also get more keys so you don’t have to sit there all day.
The thing that actually decide pvp is whether or not the opponent has good cards – I have beaten quite a few higher lvl heroes who didn’t use good cards, and have been beaten by lower levels pretty much whenever they have those damn starter pack (\*sigh)
On a related note, you’ll probably find that doing quests will lead you to use more of 1 or 2 characters (the ones with good cards) – which isn’t terribly great for the party
Tl:dr; FIND A BALANCE
