I got bored at r400 of rebirth #9 so decided I would kill Ascendant to increase kill count. I killed about 12 and then clicked too quickly and found myself in a hard ascension.

I accidentally escaped to menu. (Well, skill settings to be exact, but that's the same thing...)
At F212 in HC ED. I wasn't even fighting anything at that point, just a random missclick.

Opened a bunch of progress boxes to max out the new Epic Skill. Noticed that, in doing so, I had gone about 15 hours or so over the Cyborg Energy cap. Wondered what would happen if I clicked the convert-REST-to-Cyborg-Energy button.
Clicked it for science. Spent three hours of my REST to reset Cyborg Energy back to the cap, wasting ~15 hours of it in the process.
Stupidest button in the game.

I lost the savefile. The DAMN savefile.
I forgot to backup my savefile since 2 weeks, and as a result, I lost 2 weeks of progress.
Looks like I didn't lose much stuff...
140k Prog Boxes, 36 ascends, 110 bestiary levels plus a few ULTRAs, and something else that isn't relevant.
I'll recover the boxes, the ascends, and the minor stuff but....chipfarming? Who gives me the desire of doing that AGAIN, especially in areas like SA where I abused the 3x Drop rate event?

* Played since 2010.
* Lost several savefiles AND their backups over the years
* Finally ascended in 2014 with 200 days of playtime
* 2017 - Returned back to the game to notice the flash drives I stored my redundant backups are all gone
* My cloud backup savefile is also gone because I forgot the title of it and my cloud is huge so I can't just find it
* On day 2 of returning on a refund code, I didn't gain rest from 14 hours of having the game closed despite turning online progress on and complaining about not gaining rest
* On day 4 of returning on a refund code, lost 2 days of progress, tons of levels, etc, but gained 10 hours of rest
FML.

Went looking through the changelog to try and find some info, and noticed that the Ultimate Swords I was using were pre-attack-buffed versions, and that I was missing out on a free 1k attack boost. The kicker is that that balance change appeared to have happened TWO YEARS AGO.
granted I haven't really done anything in the battle arena in like two years but eh, details. (On an unrelated note, can't wait to finish up my S quests so I can properly ignore the feature for the rest of eternity, and having a non-gimped weapon oughta help a bit.)

...Well. This is embarrassing.
So, for whatever reason, I thought that "Unranked Mode" in Arcade didn't just mean that scores don't get submitted to the leaderboards. In fact, until today, I thought you don't gain EXP, Coins, etc. out of them, they don't count towards reaching medals, nothing.
I'm not sure what made me hold this belief (perhaps it was the glowing bar alerting me that I was playing in Unranked Mode that made me think it was more than just "no scores submitted"), but I did have that. And as a consequence, I didn't buy a single upgrade, and didn't play Unranked Mode. For a long time.
How long, you may ask?
Well, I finished up my second ascension, migrated to a new laptop, lost my savefile, stopped playing _for more than a year,_ got a refund code, then spent the past two weeks getting my first two ascensions done _again._
And just a few minutes after I finished said second ascension, I decided to try out Mindsweeper in Unranked Mode, just for the hell of it. Then I realized that I still got rewards out of it.
I'm dumb.

I apologize for the necro, but I finalized a set of Ghost armor without de-spiriting it.
Welp, time to grind again!
(And yes, I know I can use an [S] Armor Spirit Rock on finalized items, but those cost way more to craft than the armor pieces themselves.)
