What does this mean for me? You will always be able to play your favorite games on Kongregate. However, certain site features may suddenly stop working and leave you with a severely degraded experience.

What should I do? We strongly urge all our users to upgrade to modern browsers for a better experience and improved security.

We suggest you install the latest version of one of these browsers:

When you reach level 1000, you can access the Business feature from the world drop–down menu. There are 12 of them available, named after their respective Careers. You can select one Business at a time. It’s free too! When a Business is selected, you can do things related to it (or simply wait, or even go offline!) to progress in that Business. When you choose to end the Business, you will gain EXP, Coins, Career EXP, and special rewards based on the Business you choose.
All of this comes directly from the original description of Businesses, and describes the general concept fairly well. You start any business, and while it’s on, the more things related to that business/career you do, the better overall score you will get. Then you turn it off and claim the rewards. Rinse and repeat.

There is a Performance Bar while you have a business running. This is an excellent way to predict the rewards you will get, and when to turn in the business for them. The bars are color-coded, and each color takes a different amount of score to fill. It goes like this:
Blue Bar: 0 – 1,000 score
Green Bar: 1,001 – 10,000 score
Yellow Bar: 10,001 – 100,000 score
Orange Bar: 100,001 – 1,000,000 score
You do have to be a little careful, because the maximum score is 100 million, and this counter stops at 1.
Also of note is a calculator for business scores made by chessdude111. It can be found [here](http://www.kongregate.com/forums/60-anti-idle-the-game/topics/292045-business-score-calculator).
Businesses are tied very closely with Careers. Aurian’s [Career Guide](http://www.kongregate.com/forums/60-anti-idle-the-game/topics/166510-guide-career-system?page=1#posts-3627194-row) can be very useful too. Do check it out.
That’s all for now. Let me know if anything should be added or changed.

so basically, activate the business, do stuff related to the business, gain career exp of the career related to that business while its activated, leave it on for a while and get free stuff. ruff approves

Yes. There’s now a performance bar while a business is activated. I could use some confirmation, but I have an initial guess as to how it works.
Blue Bar: 0 – 1,000 score
Green Bar: 1,001 – 10,000 score
Yellow Bar: 10,001 – 100,000 score
Orange Bar: 100,001 – 1,000,000 score
The one time so far I’ve tested supports this theory. But like I said, confirmation would be nice. This also doesn’t keep track of anything from 1 mil to 100 mil, which is a bit odd. Maybe Tukkun doesn’t expect anyone to reach that high :P

That’s not right. I still have the bar located in the middle of the yellow section with 350k. I was more curious if anything had changed in the reward formula though.

Rellian, since Tukkun has added 4 color bars score, then we should focus on the calculation of the score for the particular Business Performance Bars of each Career, then next should be focus on how to calculate the overall score for the Business.

really? Last time I was halfway through the yellow, I had around 47k.

This is already what I’m doing. Look in my post above. I’m going to go ahead and post those numbers in the actual guide. If it turns out they’re wrong, I will of course change them. But I need proof that they’re wrong, as well as something to change it to.

Just as a note, from Maj’s post:
> Career exp gained is equal to your score.
Which means that your score for the career is around 80k, supporting the idea that the yellow bar tops out at 100k score. Your exp reward is calculated differently.

You also gain Coin Harvested equal to coin gained from the business.

Got a question about the career-specific rewards: do you earn only the type of reward for the highest score tier you’ve attained when you “cash in”, or do you get all types of rewards up to and including that tier? For example, I’m currently working on Fighter in Business…If I score above 100k, will I get BA experience, pixels **and** a chance for buff crystals, or would I **only** be eligible for the chance to earn the buff crystals? I think this would be worth mentioning, as it would likely have a significant impact on how often players claim their rewards.

> I knew it, it will be amount/10 for all career like racer, right? ;)
I’m not sure I understand what you mean. If you mean “amount is always score/10” or something to that effect, then no. Many values have their own multipliers. A cursory glance shows /20, /25, /500. things like that.

Online time vs offline time is part of the math. If you’re offline a great deal more, then you have a multplier that goes down and lowers your potential score. That’s all I’ll say for now, as I do plan to explain some of the harder to understand math involved with the post I linked. And maybe I’ll do the easy parts too, just so I don’t get the inevitable questions.

I am a little confused by businesses, and I don’t have the brain capacity this week to try and attempt to get the formulas. I want to use YC to get Death Match wins (man do I hate that thing), but I’m not getting how career exp gain compares to score. Is there some sort of minimum amount of time I should run that thing to max out multipliers? And are rewards linear? As in, if I just want death match wins, does it matter if I get 1 per time, or should I go for 10 at once? Since I do this with YC, I only really have YC cap to spend, and running it until I get back to YC cap is a waste, unless that gives more wins in the end.
Hope that makes sense and isn’t too all over the place. I am pretty hardcore sleep deprived atm, and I’m not at my brightest.

Make sure it is on the orange bar, then you have max multiplier and 1 death match win.
Rewards are linear, except career XP.
It is pretty simple, do stuff, get stuff.

for me is like
you need to complete this requirements to get max multipliers:
1) time you spend online should be higher than offline time by half hour (so business should last at least half hour to get max in this one)
2) you need to get the same amount (or more) career exp than your online time +1800
3) maxed this career
