Hey Everyone,
We have some exciting news to share: **recycling Epics and Legendaries now have a guaranteed drop of Legendary Stones! ** Our goal with this update is to add value to epics for players that already have all-legendary decks.
The quantity of Legendary Stones you receive is based on the rarity and fusion level of the card, shown below.
| Rarity | Fusion | Legendary Stones for recycling|
|-|-|-|
| Epic |Single |10 |
| Epic | Dual-fused | 20 |
| Epic | Quad-fused | 40 |
| Legendary | Single | 30 |
| Legendary | Dual-fused | 60 |
| Legendary | Quad-fused | 120 |
**Will I still receive Giggitywatts for recycling?**
Yes! Recycling will still provide Giggitywatts. The quantities have not changed and will continue to be based on the level and rarity of the recycled card.
**Is there still a chance to get Mythic Stones for recycling a Legendary?**
Yes! That is still possible and neither the quantity nor drop rates have been changed for that.
**When will this be added to the game?**
This update is now live in the game!
**I just recycled a lot of Epics and Legendaries… can I get a re-do? **
We aren’t able to undo recently recycled cards, but we are sending 1,000 Legendary Stones via mail message to all players.
**Have any additional questions or want to share feedback?** Please let us know here!

Omg so cool I just got 100 leg stones for 5 crappy fused epics, good move Kong. This will give blue more value and make the game more competitive for ftp players since they'll be able to get legs faster

if I made a quad from four cards before I recycle them, do I get the same number of legendary stones as I would if I quaded them and then upgraded them to the max level? Same question for fused.

awesome move here. thank you

That's good news. What I am curious about is are legendaries getting a rework at some point? or can I safely get rid of cards that have been replaced with more powerful cards.

As an example I have a fair number of music cards and "fart school for the gifted" isn't really helping. Can I recycle it?

Are there any plans to update the recycler to actually show how many legendary stones you’re about to receive when recycling?

Does this have any implications on buyback?

It really is simple. Each Epic card will get you ten leg stones. No matter of the level. and each leg 30 leg stones...
that is why a quadded epic (4 epics) will give you 40 leg stones and a single leg will give you 30 leg stones.
@cafepatron : you never know. Last week i recycled 100 epics to make some more room.. wish I knew this was coming...
This is not the first time i cant fully benefit from updates since they don't let us know that it is coming...
So I would keep them unless they are eating too much space in you deck. It is still a very bad conversion rate for a maxed fart school.

I guess I’ll never upgrade an epic to make room again since legendary values won’t increase as fused or quaded cards are upgraded.

Awesome update! But I think I'll quit now.
Why? Thanks for asking. Because just last week I recycled all the hundreds of epic cards I still had, plenty of quads, that I had held on to ages after they were no longer relevant to me. Looking at your table on how many stones I would have received, well... that's a lot of legendary cards I do not have.
I understand there's nothing that can be done, I understand this is a great thing for the game, but that slap in the face was just a bit too hard. How about some warning for your remaining players next time? It's not like features are planned and developed in a week.
But seriously, this is a good feature. Next time communicate with your player base. Other game companies do.

The quantity of stones you receive depends on _fusion_ and _rarity_ only, so a fully leveled quad will provide the same as a just-fused quad.

There are still plans down the road to rework older cards, but we don't have an ETA on when the work will begin. Along with that, we plan to implement a buyback feature, which will allow players to go into their own recycling history and buyback cards they want to use again. So, you may find that you feel OK with letting go of some cards for now. I would say to be a little conserative, though, because we don't know how much it will cost in watts to buy back a card yet and we don't have an estimated date yet for when the feature will be available.

Great point, I agree that should be added! I don't know if that's already being worked on already, but I'll ask for it to be tasked.

Do you mean if you need to ask Support to undo an accidentally recycled card? Yes. If a card was accidentally recycled today (and in the future), when you ask for support to undo it, you will need to have enough Giggitywatts _and_ Legendary Stones to return back in order to resummon your card.

Thanks for that information. I was referring to the actual buy back feature and is this a signthat it’s close. Trying to buyback year one cards

i was under the impression that we had a chance to earn mythic stones by recycling legendaries? If so, is it still in effect?

Ah ok! Sorry, we don't have an ETA for the buyback feature.

Great question. That is true, you still do have the chance to get Mythic Stones from recycling a Legendary card. I made that more clear in the [FAQ about decks & recycling](https://animationthrowdown.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/226345568) and will make it more clear in my original post of this thread.
Thanks!

I understand your point of view, but I wonder how many epics you had and how many legendary cards that would've yielded? The number of stones you get per epic is relatively small, so even recycling a large number of epics doesn't yield that many legs.
For example, I currently have 253 epics in my inventory broken down as 35 singles, 137 duals, and 81 quads. If I recycled them all right now, it would produce 6330 leg stones. So I'd turn 253 epics into 6 legs and change. Right now the "just in case" value and emergency GW storage is worth more to me than 6 stone pool legs, so I'm not looking to recycle everything en masse.
Certainly I'd rather be in my boat than yours where I retain the option of netting legendary stones for recycling my epics. At some point, I might reassess all the epics that I am holding and turn them into 1-3 legs + GWs. It is nice to have that option and it's a bit of a shame you don't. However, how much would 6 or 10 or even 20 stone pool legs move the needle for you?

So let's flash forward to when buyback is implemented. As I understand it, this feature would allow a player to buyback any card that they've ever recycled. Before today, it seemed a straightforward transaction: pay back the GWs you received for recycling the card and the previously recycled card is returned to your inventory. With today's addition of a legendary stone return for recycled cards, there's an open question of how buyback will work:
1. Players can buy back cards for watts only, but then can re-recycle the cards for watts & leg stones. This is a non-starter as then everyone could easily generate an endless supply of leg stones by repeatedly buying back cards and then recycling them again.
2. Players can buy back epic and above cards at a cost of watts and leg stones. If the player re-recycled the card in the future, they would earn back the leg stones they paid for the buyback. This implementation would make sense except that all cards recycled before today did not return leg stones. So players who choose to buyback cards recycled long ago would have to pay with leg stones that they never received by recycling the card(s) in the first place.
3. When players buy back cards recycled before today, it will only cost watts. On the other hand, when players buy back epic and above cards recycled from today forward, the cost is both watts and leg stones. The down side of this choice is that it's more complicated to implement and might confuse some players. On the positive side, players will be able to retrieve cards recycled a long time ago without a leg stone cost. A fringe benefit of this implementation is that it would eventually address the concerns of players who recently recycled a large number of epics and did not receive leg stones. Once buyback is implemented, players could buy back and re-recycle all the cards from which they never received leg stones. Of course, most long-time players have recycled a large number of epics regardless of how many they're currently holding, so the buyback system could be taxed in the early going while everyone laboriously does the buyback shuffle to yield all the leg stones possible.
4. Since the developers presumably need to have all the data about all the cards ever recycled to implement the buyback system, you could in theory create a process to pay every player the correct amount of leg stones they would've earned had all those cards been recycled for a leg stone return. Then the buyback cost for all cards would be both watts and leg stones just as in option #2. Downside of this approach is that the developers would need to implement the script to make a one-time leg stone payment to every player, possibly by in-game mail. Also, maybe paying out leg stones for every epic+ card ever recycled would be too unbalancing for the game's economy. The positive of this approach is that it would eliminate the inequality of players that chose to hold a large number of epics and those that did not. Option #3 also addresses the inequality, but puts the onus on the player to manually buy back and then rerecyle all their old cards, which could possibly tax the servers.

Does this include pre combo cards? And if so, are they converted at the same rate?

Great question-- this applies to pre combo (PC) cards, too. They will convert at the same rate, based on fusion and rarity only.
