#### Ready for a little something new? We’ve been working to improve Throwdown and are excited to preview the latest development with you!

#### **What is the Louise Melee?**
The Louise Melee is very similar to a Clash, with a few unique changes:
* **This event is for players in Arena Ranks 1-15**
* The accompanying Tier Box is Epic-focused and contains only 4 tiers
* The Battleground Effect (BGE) boosts ALL Louise cards and combos
* Louise-based Power Cards ***will not*** be boosted in this event
#### When is the event?
**The Louise Melee event will start Monday 07/22/19 and will end Friday 07/26/19** (same dates as Summer Clash), starting and ending at 18:00 UTC. Each day of the event will provide 6 energy and will not be refillable.

#### Points & Scoring
Scoring is just like Clash: the points you earn per battle will increase as you go up in level difficulty. Winning will award the battle reward points displayed for that level and will advance you one level up. Losing a battle will award points for the previous level and will demote you down one level.

#### Rewards & Milestones
Battle to collect as many points as you can, climb the ranks, and collect rewards! The top 1,000 players will earn Ranked Rewards and there are Milestone Rewards:
| **Rank** | **Reward Card(s)** | **Reward Coins** | **Reward Item(s)** |
|-|-|-|-|-|
| 1 | (8) Epics | 40,000 | (6) Research Speedup +24 |

#### Will there be future events like this?
We’re experimenting with a new kind of event and would love to hear your feedback! Let us know what you think. Melee may appear again in the future with some changes to the event once we analyze the data and review player feedback. Our goal is to create a new engaging kind of event for players who have yet to reach SFC, and help ease them into more advanced deck construction seen in Challenges.
We’re very excited about this event and are looking forward to your thoughts and feedback. Please share here!

I have a question. You mention this is for arena players 1-15. I have an account that was in sfc and is now at level 15. Will i be able to play this event and still play clash?

Yes, players who have previously been in SFC but have since ranked down will have access to and be able to participate in the melee event. For this melee, you must be rank 1-15 at the start of the event to be eligible.
On the flipside, Clash events are available to players who are in SFC AND those who previously were in SFC but dropped down. By this logic, IF you are a player who has reached SFC in the past but are not in it when the Louise Melee starts, you will be able to play both Clash and Melee. However, for a host of reasons and the potential of losing out on rewards in the longer-term, we do not recommend and would never encourage someone to *intentionally* lower their Arena rank.

Thanks for the answer. My account was strong enough in a previous bge to make sfc but not anymore. Hopefully this new event can get me back up there!

Ah, I love this concept. I'm in SFC though. Could we someday have a rotating casual mode that heavily incentives us to play janky cards? I love playing with bad cards.

I suggest in future running 2 simultaneous events, one for this level of ranks and a similarly focused one for those in sfc with lengedary rewards

I think they should put some legendary cards or stones for top rank players not just epic kinda weak prizes just a suggestion

Isn't that exactly what they are doing with clash happening at the same time?

Modchi, the mail that was sent to players says that the event will begin "Monday 7/18" not a huge problem, just something that I noticed and might help if you resent a message clearing up that you meant 7/22

Thank you very much for that correction, we'll send a correction mail message out shortly.

Like Clash, will Melee start you at higher levels depending on the arena level you have reached so far?

Hm. Limiting the challenge to lower levels feels - strange. I can see you want to make sure non-SFC players have a chance to get the top rewards (which would not really matter to stronger players, anyway). I can also see you don't want non-SFC players to face SFC decks, causing lots of frustration. *However*, being in SFC, I'm still hungry for any kind of new concept, and I'd *love* to give this challenge a try. Maybe it would be boring, but being excluded never feels good.
Besides, it *does* look to me like players in the low ranks of SFC would indeed have a good incentive to drop down back to Arena level 15 for this event, which will partially work to counter the above objectives.
**Suggestion**: Allow SFC players to participate, *but* any player who has reached SFC before will be excluded from tier calculation and ranked rewards. Further, any player who has reached SFC before will never be selected as a defense player.
**Further suggestion**: For symmetry, open up the clashes to non-SFC players (perhaps lowering the bar to level 12 or so), *but* any player who has not reached SFC before will never be selected as a defense player.

I feel the same - I was excluded from the 1st ever Clash because I didn't make SFC, that just made me more determined to reach it (it was actually worse because I had reached SFC and lost 3 times at 0 to drop back again). But this time obviously the drive would be to lose? Nah...but don't exclude us!!

> Wow! Same time as Summer Clash? I have no time, or resources to learn Louise combos, alongside clash combos, alongside learning combos for the Athletic BGE. I am not a pay to win player. I never dare hope to reach even the first tier reward in any clash. I build my deck full of legendary, epic, and rare cards geared to the combos in effect, only to get slaughtered by whales with mythic cards. However, with any luck I can usually reach the second or third milestone. Yet, the rewards you present for this Louise Melee are not worth the hours it takes to calculate strategies and to reseach combos. Milestone rewards - a paltry few Greater Epic Stones, Rare Cards, and Research Speedups. It's like taking a step forward, then two back.
What strategy? It's just Louise combos, and there will be exactly zero whales. I do wish I could join in the low-level fun, but I'll be sweating away in the summer clash instead. The resources and time you bemoan are they very things you can win in this challenge.

I really love this idea! What a great way to support newer players without feeding the whales! I won't be in it, but it is a great option for those who are just barely in SFC, they can drop down and do this rather than focus on clash, let the whales compete there.
When they get where the melee rewards aren't worth it any more they can push through SFC to get high in crowns and compete in clash more competitively.

Will you guys complain about everything? This is great, it’s the alternative to clash of people that haven’t made it to SFC, I wish it existed months ago. The rewards are commensurate with what you would expect for a non-SFC event. If you want to sewer your Clash starting level all the way to one have fun. The milestone rewards are worth more than the Louise challenge rewards
I can’t participate but good job Kong.

Good to see something not for the 1%.
Maybe add some leg or mythic stones to milestone or reward.

I think if they added mythic stones or too many legs, the benifit from being in the SFC for 0-1000crowns would diminish. I think they struck a pretty good blance on rewards, so people don't purposefully drop down in rank to get top tier goodies.

One thing to keep in mind: most of the 1000 ranked players will be Arena level 15+; beginner levels will have to settle for Milestones.
Rewards should be appropriate to Arena level 15 players, not level 6 players. The top-ranked players will not be F2P. Players that drop out of the SFC should not be allowed to play in the event. And open up the rewards more to the experience of the players.

So if I am currently in SFC and will be in SFC till event starts, I wont participate.
Seems fair enough, its for players who want participate in events or who just started the game or people who havent reached SFC yet.
I am ok. Dont want intentionally drop down just to play this event.
