Why even give a break between the event. just start the next one afterthe previous one ends. event was fun when every few weeks and only a few days long. Now it is basically a daily quest and boring.

The card master challenges are getting old. Nowadays I only make an effort to compete perhaps once every four challenges.

if you haven't hoarded it's the only way to compete now.

More upset that Kongregate made $200,000 in the month of April alone while this pandemic was going on and showed no support for its members of AT and this was just what they made from the AT community. This is the first sign of a dying game, no new content and trying to get as much money from it player base as possible before they announce it.
From where do you get that number? Is there a link that verifies that Kong earned $200,000 in April from AT?

I think that a longer running ECMCs is beneficial for an f2p player compared to a short ECMC. Just by consistently playing, an f2p player will rank higher during a long challenge than during a short one if the frequency of the challenge is the same, e.g. one challenge per month. The p2w players will spend their money regardless, no matter if the challenge is short or long.

I can't follow that logic. Longer challenge means paying players get more opportunity to outrun free players by just their usual spending. This also leads to much higher end results which are extremely hard to reach with just some hoarded stuff. You could try at least, but the risk is very high to just waste your stuff without a worthwhile effect.
My experience is the exact opposite of your statement. With shorter challenges I was able to rank at least top 20 and depending on the group top 10 was possible as well. Since the longer runtime I'm at about 30 most of the time, could go for top 20 by burning through hoards, but that's it.

No it is not, a longer ECMC only benefits big spenders as tier boxes, mythic boxes and other shop items give these people an opportunity to surpass any F2P members and get the top prizes. But in the end you are right as the ECMC will only benefit big spenders no matter the length of the ECMC.

Captain Complainy Pants and the Hissy Fit Brigade.
Their cadence is "AWWW THIS SUCKS!!"
It's not very catchy.
