So, supposedly the forum is closing in a week? Discord only? Starting a Discord was a stupid idea to begin with, now we're forced to join in the stupidity or not be informed of important news and lose communication with our teammates. I have enough apps to deal with, I shouldn't have to run more than THIS ONE to enjoy THIS GAME.

IF this is true, and I didn't see the announcement, then I agree - I rely on this forum for information and entertainment, and I won't be going elsewhere to replace it.
Maybe it's a server/resource issue, maybe they don't want to get into the sticky moderation issues plaguing other forum and chat hosts, etc. Whatever the reason, it's not the first time it's been threatened. I hope they figure out a way to keep this forum.

I'm on discord, I'm in the official server, and I still think it's a bad idea that will lose players. But this is their strategy going forward, we'll see how it goes...

Not trying to convince anyone of anything, just wanted to add that you don't need to download Discord the app, you can just use the browser version.

While I also think this isn't the best idea (and that AT certainly brings enough money to keep forums and chat active), I don't think closing forums would make that many players leave.
First, there aren't that many players on the forums.
Second, you may consider having too many apps, but I fail to see much user difference between an app and a fav link for the forums.

This is what I've been doing for almost 2 years since I'm using Discord. Works just fine.

so they're closing the team chat as well on 20th january?
if so, in less than a week we will lose an essential part of the game (my team uses the chat for siege coordination, and i think many more teams do as well), and they don't even bother making an official announcement / explanation / replacement advice?
i don't like discord, i don't see any functionality or structure in it, nor how it's supposed to be of any use for teams.
edit: okay, i now see the team chat is supposed to stay in place. still, not a good move to not clearly announce it here.

I hate discord. I’ve given it a couple chances but I can’t stand the UI.

I don't want the discord either but maybe they should send everyone mail and give us gems, stones or something to make it a little better. Funny that the move to Discord is causing lots of discord in the community.

I don't mind having to go to outside sources. The game crashes every 2.5 minutes, so it's nice to have something to do in the meantime. Pretty considerate, if you ask me.

Just do what most, or a lot of Guilds have been doing for years and use Line App to communicate within the guild. Most likely someone in your guild already uses Discord so they can pass along any news from Kong that comes through Discord.

I don’t mind using another chat app since I’ve been on both LINE and Discord for years, but it is shocking that given the amount of revenue they get from this game, they can’t even build a decent game chat. I think they just don’t want to spend the extra money, who knows how much licensing cost eats into their profits.

I'm guessing it crashes when you're in the deck editor or the card archive?
That's what happens to me, it will gradually get slower until it finally crashes.
It is super annoying, and I don't know what could be causing the game to use so much resources for those 2 parts of the game.

Hell, it'd be cool if simply clicking on "last" from the front page actually took you to the last page of comments... :)

Yup, they didn't even have the guts to address any of these posts telling them WE DON'T WANT DISCORD. I'm never spending another cent on this game, and I've spent hundreds of thousands of cents up until now. Idiots.
