**
What is a Showdown Challenge?**
A Showdown Challenge will be similar to a [Clash](https://kon.gg/throwdownclash) with a few variations.
Instead of a Battleground Effect (BGE) that boosts a select set of combos,** a Showdown BGE will provide a 100% boost to the stats and skills of a specific input card and all combos related to it**. The input card may be a Character or an Object card. **Showdown Challenge BGEs will not boost Power Cards.** Just like in Clashes, **the Global Battleground Effect does not apply**.

Who can participate?
**
While Clashes are a [Secret Fight Club](https://animationthrowdown.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/115004925127-Secret-Fight-Club-SFC-) only event, **players of all levels and experience will be able to participate in Showdown Challenges**. Each Showdown event will have two tiers, splitting players into groups based on their arena rank.

The BGE will affect all rarities of the boosted card. For the first run, the Standard Showdown will have a BGE that boosts Stewie and the Elite Showdown will have a BGE that boosts Brian.

**How will scoring, ranks and rewards work?**
Scoring in Showdown battles will be very similar to Clash: the difficulty and points you earn per battle will increase as you go up in level. Winning will award the battle reward points displayed for that level and will advance you one level up. Losing a battle will award points for the previous level and will demote you down one level.
**Additionally players will be divided into groups of 100, each with its own ranking! **Battle to collect as many points as you can, climb the ranks and reap the benefits. There will be no milestones in this event, but due to the divided rankings it will be much easier to obtain rank rewards.

Top tier rewards will be regular mythic stones + premium hero tokens.

Great question. The groups of 100 are for the rankings only, so you may face opponents that are _not_ in your grouping. The matchmaking itself will be similar to Clash.

How will the groups of 100 players be constructed? Will I compete with players of same strength? What is "same strength"? Next to me in SFC?

Hahahaha, I always knew it was a good idea to hold onto my epic face cards. Looking forward to using Brian for the 1st time in a long time (sadly, no mythic yet).
What will the reward tiers look like? Are we playing mostly for legendary stones, or speedups, or mythic stones?

If u check the post, the lowest rank awards 150 leg stones and 4 research hours, so expect those types of rewards

Yes, but the lowest tier of the rumble rewards say nothing about the cards we can win at the highest. Hence my question.

If the scoring and matchups are like the Clashes, are the defensive decks going to be our active deck? Will these run at the same time as clashes, forcing us to defend against both with the same deck?

I'd love to see epic Brian for sale for nixons. Sounds like it will be impossible to compete without many copies of the character card.

Oh! I have a question. Will the battle turns be the same as in Clash (with AI going first and no sleep)? Because if PCs are not boosted, that part could really suck.

Buy Back! You promised this a long time ago and we've seen so many irrelevant new cash grabs take the place of the buy back system work. It will make Clashes and Showdowns fun for anyone who has ever needed watts or inventory space

This.... Long before Clash came around, Epic cards became useless to me, but now they're more useful than ever with these new game modes.
Feels like the rug was pulled from under me just for playing the game economically.

You can always start. I started saving all my epics since the first clash back in December, and have a nice collection by now.

I’ve noticed the char buys sure have gotten much less desireable.... same bender one that is currently in shop use to come with 1k gems at same price.... use to be only purchases I made in game.... oh well, now I get to save the 40 bucks a month.
