So the current top 3 and many top 100 are “xxx********yyy” pattern names. That is an awfully strange coincidence that they have such auto generated sounding names as well as ridiculously high levels. If those aren’t bots or some other fishy form of cheating, then what are they?

If you check your PlayFab ID by going to the Settings Tab -> Settings subtab -> *right at the top*
you'll see your ID is the same format.
All it means is that it's a PlayFab account that hasn't been linked to a Kongregate account.
Not linking a Kongregate account isn't, *all by itself*, indication of cheating.
They may in fact be cheaters, I have no knowledge one way or the other.

Yeah there’s no way to tell if cheating....however there is a glitch that can easily be exploited to seriously elevate your game. Wouldn’t be surprised if they aren’t on the leaderboard at the end of the event.

Brand new player who is not on leaderboards ever below suddenly in a top spot? Either a cheater or spent several thousand dollars on sports characters. Easy enough for the devs to check.

Mine isn't connected to Kongregate either...mostly cuz if it was, they could connect me to the account if I say something *too stupid* on the forums...yeah, I know I'm paranoid, but what are you? ha, burn...

just get a 2nd acct for the forum.
Linking allows you to recover your data if something bad happens, and the 3% stapler bonus is a big deal in events ( especially early)

If Ultrabit doesn't get this (rather rampant) cheating under control, they are going to have a serious issue on their hands. Who would want to put any money into the events if there is no return on that investment in that event, or the events after that?
Cleaning up the event leaderboard on Tuesdays (and maybe Wednesday morning) is not going to help it if the leaderboards are polluted all through the first five days of each event.

If you were ranked #52 in the event and there were 4 cheaters in the top 50 who were bumping you out of the top 50, you might care. If you simply don't care about rankings, leaderboards, events, etc, then why are you commenting about the leaderboards.

Perhaps you haven't read the comment that you quoted? Let me say this again: "Who would want to put any money into the events if there is no return on that investment in that event, or the events after that?"
If people don't see "proper" return on their money in events / character packs in the form of long-term benefits that would improve their stats and rankings in future events to get progressively better event rewards, people will stop putting money into the game. Which means that Ultrabit will start losing money if they don't get their act together. And pretty soon.

Looks like a lot got removed from the leaderboard. Still one that's a bit higher than the rest. Lucky player.

I just jumped 9 spots without levelling up so some cheaters got nuked. Probably more to come.

Doubt it. The changes today were planned a long while ago. App dev can be pretty slow if you have specific goals to make.

They get rid of them and then another pops up in first place. What's the point of these people cheating since they end up either banned or on the naughty leaderboard.

Yeah I got used to it, I just try to enjoy the game and don’t see getting to the top 10 or even 50 as a goal anymore. I see a lot but choose to ignore it.. ;)

I don't understand why you would want to cheat at these kinds of games. What do you really gain? I understanding exploiting a glitch available to all but I don't understand going to extreme efforts to "win". This isn't real life or making a living. Your self esteem can't be helped that much by something you did not earn, but maybe folks feel they did earn it by "cheating".

What I enjoy the most is the clearly superior intellect of the players verses the actual dev's. It's pretty funny that to get help you ask players because the people you give your golden ticket to do not give you any willy Wonka factories or swag. Crasses hurt but theres always a very smart person who clearly is a genius giving the exact reason. I admire that greatly. I have serious issues like ads not working etc but I come to the forums and I feel so elated. It's not me its them. And I am not the worst person in the game just one that learns with an average brain unless I drink those energy drinks I suddenly get Cape abilities and seem to understand these complexities better. What I'm saying is to you my fellow gamers I am awed. Ty

just gonna say i see one and only one reason to cheat
say someone is making some kind of analysis using the game and needed the ability to test certain characters to get their data/make sure of how they work and apply it to some kind of sheet....and that making that sheet was more fun to them than the game itself....i could see that being a reason....o.o
i cant see any other reason though XD

i stalk, barely say anything, but ive been keeping an eye on things XD
I like to lurk and haunt occasionally
even if i stopped playing in 2019, pretty sure the game hasnt gained a single new thing in that time....and i still dont have a computer that can handle working on the spreadsheets while my phone is too small to be able to work on it effectively -.-'
one day i will make a final sheet...that day may just be after the game dies XD but i think the current one works for 99% of players who would want it XD
