I searched and I see a lot of discussion about Memorial Day Event conversion rates but I was wodnering since it's not labeled in past events thread if anyone rememembers the Character Rules for the Memorial Day Event?

I don’t, but I do remember it being a pretty challenging event.

Looking at my spreadsheet for Memorial Day #3 2019-05-29, I don't have the rules noted but the inference from what characters were available or not is BBQ and Level 10 or under.
Also, I only had 8 characters slotted, so it's probably a _buy character slots_ event.

Studog, you are correct for the event. This is what I Notated:
All BBQ + non-BBQ under 10, Character Slots cost currency.

It is so annoying that they still have the under 10 rule for a three year old game.

True, but it’s the one time when you get rewarded for having the Mythics.

New players can't slot Level 5 characters into an Level 10+ event. Level 10- lets new players play and play competitively; older players' characters are largely going to be restricted so we have to make do with Mythics and scraps.

Sure and that was a great rule in the first year, good rule in the second, not so much in the 3rd. I'll say the same about the 10+ rule- it means nothing for the loyal, long term players anymore and just hurts new players. Moot since they aren't going to change anything, so I was just venting.

Let's say a new player has BBQ Peter at Level 8, Kung Fu Laura at Level 6, Sports Dr Swanson at Level 10, Kung Fu Drew at Level 7, Default Lumbergh at Level 4. They can slot all of the Big 5.
An older player has all those characters at Level 11 or higher and can slot zero of them.
How does that hurt new players?

Well this is a hard one., I don’t remember this from before. You can’t even add workers until you have 50 flags. I’m thinking they offered mystic characters last time, so it wasn’t so bad. Guess they are looking for pay to play? WHY CAN’T I QUIT YOU?!

Re-read what I said- the 10+ rule hurts new players.

Indeed, I misread your post. Let me rewind and try that reply again.

Why is the 10- rule no longer great? It seems to me to still be serving its intended purpose, even more so now, as older players will have even less good characters still at Level 10 or under. When this was introduced I had a mix; Kung Fu Laura was often under Level 10 while BBQ Peter was over Level 10.

Fair point.

Yeah I don’t remember that either. I mean they start the event days late and the very first thing is you can either tap until you bleed or you just wait for hours until you can craft the flags. Crazy.
