Thanks for telling me that! I did read the patch notes carefully, and felt silly for apparently missing that change! Would you like me to delete my comments regarding this to keep this thread cleaner and less confusing?
I didn’t know the vast amount of changes that would occur in what I thought was a simple UI update. I retract my previous comment about not needed a guide. I do have a gripe though, about getting the GG and LS spell trophies. I would wait a lot further down the road to get them. Casting 100 GG in the beginning of a new game with 4.5 m/s would be a huge turn-off for new players, and I personally wouldn’t make them sit through it. Same for LS, 100 casts is too much for a new player to bear. I would suggest waiting till mercs to get those trophies.

I wasn’t saying to get them, just that if you wanted to spend a few extra hours as them, you can.

I did add in on their notes, though, that they take a few hours.
I found this guide around step 25ish and found it invaluable getting the trophies I needed and when what factions were best for what….I referred to it constantly till my first Ressurection!
They each cost 10Qad **(1e75)** coins and 10K of three different FC (the three Good Faction’s FC for Bearded, the three Evil Faction’s FC for Shady).
I may be mistaken, but I believe in step 34 the cost is 1e45, not 1e75. Sorry cbf to make a quote.

Haha, thanks! It is e45. I didn’t even notice I did that. I was using the numpad on my laptop for most of the numbers, and the 4 is right below the 7, so probably hit the 7 without realizing it. e75 is Qavg, and entirely different amount. Thanks! :D

I never said don’t use an autoclicker, I said I don’t use them, and nor do I recommend them. Apart from a handful of things, such as Speed Run, all in-game click-required things have ways to earn them in-game. Autoclickers are, in no way, necessary for this game, and I DO state what the click/second the game is built around, too. Did you miss that part? That’s for people who decide they want to use an autoclicker for the rare spots where clicking actually matters. If you’re clicking enough on this game to put yourself at risk of those injuries, then you’re overclicking to start with.
I read the full guide and have been playing actively for about a week. I want to say a few things. The guide has great information and some tips on how to unlock trophies that aren’t found easily elsewhere. Also, including the description for options menu is always a plus as many games don’t tell you what the options do. But, I have some complaints. The guide doesn’t have a great structure, in other words it could have been formatted (I’ll explain more below). Also, the guide can be confusing due to the way it’s written (I will also explain that more below).
For example STEP 34 it just starts out as this
> **STEP 34:** Do Druid runs up to 10-50Qi (1-5e19) Gems. I recommend 25Qi (2.5e19) Gems. Now we have the fun part: Vanilla Prestige Factions!
So it takes a bit of reading to figure out what’s going on in this step. It’s STEP 34, Unlocking Dwarf/Drow. But the word Drow isn’t even mentioned until about the seventh sentence and then Dwarf even later. So the sentence that reads, _Now we have the fun part: Vanilla Prestige Factions!_ could at least say _Now we have the fun part: Vanilla Prestige Factions! **(Drwarf and Drow)**._
A lot of sections start like this. It’s a **STEP#** and a description of the step, but we aren’t told what the goal of the step is until somewhere in the middle or end of it’s description. We’re told what to do, but we don’t know what were doing right away. It causes a few problems. One, the reader has to figure out what each step is while reading it. Two, even though each step is labelled, you can’t quickly jump to any section of the guide because it’s not immediately apparent what a step does. When I started the guide I had about the first 17 steps completed, but I had to read all of them to figure out if I could skip the step or not.
I’m going to re-write steps 34 using a format I would have done. I’m going to include an introduction paragraph to explain the format too.
**Re-formatted Guide for Step 34**
\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_
**How to Use This Guide:**
Each step will be labelled by a step number, followed by a step title, next to the step title in parentheses will be the required/recommended number of gems needed to complete the step. If a step does not require any gems the gem information will be omitted. If the step includes information on how to unlock a trophy the trophy names will be listed next to the gem requirement (or next to the step title if the gem requirement is omitted).
**STEP 34 – _Unlocking Dwarves_** (10Qi to 50Qi [1e19 to 5e19] Gems):
Do Druid runs until you have 10Qi to 50Qi (1e19 to 5e19) Gems. Excavate until you hit 200 excavations. Buy the _Passage to the Underworld_ and read the Adviser’s comment. You will see two quests unlocked, _Sturdy Bearded Man’s Quest_ (Good) and _Cloaked Shady Figure’s Quest_ (Evil), you cannot buy them yet. If you hover over the quests you will see the requirements for them. We are going to do the _Sturdy Bearded Man’s Quest_ which will require you to be one of the _Good Alignments_.
In order to unlock the _Sturdy Bearded Man’s Quest_ it requires the following:
- Be Playing as a _Good Aligned_ faction.
- Build 800 Inns
- Have 7,000 Buildings Owned (This Game)
- Have 10,000 clicks (Total)
- (After unlocking _Sturdy Bearded Man’s Quest_ it will costs 10Qad (1E46) Coins, 10K Fairy Coins, 10K Elven Coins, 10K Angel Coins to purchase and it is a one time purchase)
In order to fulfill these requirements do this. Abdicate now, purchase the _Proof of Good Deed_ and chose the _Fairy_ faction. We are using the _Fairy_ faction as it will be easiest to get 800 Inns and 7,000 buildings with them. Play as the _Fairies_ (as you normally would) and make sure to get to 800 Inns and 7,000 buildings. Now, if you don’t already have 10,000 clicks (total) you can either A.) continue to your run and click manually until you have 10,000 clicks or B.) If you have the _Sun Blessing_ trophy unlocked (_Sun Blessing_ causes the _Elf_ faction spell _Moon Blessing_ to automatically click 15 times a second) abdicate again and choose the _Elf_ faction. Then, playing as _Elves_ cast _Moon Blessing_ as frequently as possible. If you want to get the 10,000 (total) clicks done quickly, click manually and cast _Moon Blessing_ as frequently as possible. Or, if you don’t feel like playing actively you can set _Moon Blessing_ to auto-cast and wait for the clicks to add up, this will take much longer however.
Once you hit 10,000 clicks you should now have met all three requirements (800 Inns, 7,000 Buildings, and 10,000 Clicks) and the _Sturdy Bearded Man’s Quest_ should now be unlocked for purchase. If you have the required amount of Coins and Faction Coins you can purchase _Sturdy Bearded Man’s Quest_ which will unlock the _Dwarf Faction_ (note that this is a one time purchase and the _Dwarf Faction_ will be unlocked from now on). Purchasing _Sturdy Bearded Man’s Quest_ also unlocks the ability to purchase _Underworld Diplomacy_ (costs 1Qad [1E45] Coins).
To play as the _Dwarf Faction_ you must be aligned good (have purchased the _Proof of Good Deed_) and purchase _Underworld Diplomacy_. Purchasing _Underworld Diplomacy_ will allow you to earn _Dwarf Faction Coins_ which allow you to purchase _Dwarf Faction Upgrades_. _Underworld Diplomacy_ must be purchased every game (until R3) similar to things like purchasing _Proof of Good Deed_.
( **Note – Prestige Faction Explanation:**
The _Dwarf Faction_ is a _Prestige Faction_. _Prestige Factions_ allow the player to play as the typical good or evil alignment as well as one of the _Prestige Factions_. In this case the _Dwarf Faction_ is played alongside any of the good factions, but not evil or neutral. Whilst the _Drow Faction_ (which we will unlock in the next step) is played alongside any of evil factions, but not good or neutral. Being able to play as **_Dwarf_ + _Good Faction_** or **_Drow_ + _Evil Faction_** is more powerful than playing as just a single _Good_ or single _Evil Faction_.)
\_\_\_\_\_
Back to my critique, my step 34 is longer, but it’s much less ambiguous and doesn’t require the player to use outside material to understand what’s happening. I could have made it shorter and sacrificed some of the clarity, but my point is a new player can understand it much more easily. (As a note, I have yet to unlock Dwarf and Drow so the information I got was from the wiki, I may have misunderstood some of that information, but I’m just trying to show the increased clarity.)
A lot of the guide can be very confusing. The step 34 you have written is another example of the confusion. You don’t ever list the full names of the quests (_Sturdy Bearded Man’s Quest_ and _Cloaked Shady Figure’s Quest_ ) you just refer to them as _Bearded_ and _Shady_. Then you don’t list the requirements for the quests, so when the player reads _Abdicate and go Fairies (Good). They have getting to the 7k buildings and 800 inns easiest._ The problem is, it hasn’t been explained explicitly in the step what the player is trying to accomplish. Now, I know that I you need 7,000 buildings and 800 Inns as part of the requirement to unlock _Dwarves_, but I had to look that up elsewhere in order to figure it out. So the explanation of _They have getting to the 7k buildings and 800 inns easiest._ is unclear, it’s never been mentioned previously, so the player doesn’t know why they need 7,000 buildings and 800 Inns without looking in the game or another guide. This means a player can’t read ahead in the guide, they have to be playing along in the game and on the same step as the guide, or using another guide, to get the additional information not mentioned within the guide itself.
There is also the use of a lot of abbreviations that should have at least been mentioned by full name once first. Yes, you have the list of abbreviations at then end, but this now forces the player to have to look up the terms while reading a step. So for example step 35 you have.
> **STEP 35:** Go Elves and run **Elven Dwarfs**. If you can manage a **CtA** , wait 8s, Diamond Pickaxe (DP), wait 2s, **FC** , then cast at least **1TC** , go Fairies instead. Otherwise, go Elves to pair with Dwarfs. This goes for all future R’s (shouldn’t go past R3 before Fairy Dwarfs is stronger than Elven Dwarfs).
This is supposed to be a new players guide, that whole step is just abbreviations. As a new player myself, in order to understand that step first, I have to look up what **Elven Dwarves** is, remember a new player just unlocked Dwarves in the previous step, so they probably don’t understand how Dwarves work, but you just tell them to go **Elven Dwarf**. Then the rest of the step is all abbreviations so I have to use the appendix to figure out what **CtA** , **FC** , and **TC**. A new player won’t even know what _Diamond Pickaxe_ is, so if they’re reading ahead, they will have to look up what that is. Again, the player has to be on the exact step to fully understand it.
I get that you can be playing along as you read, which will help, but due to the way a lot of this is written you **have** to be playing along as you read. I think a lot of people try to read the full guide first or at least a few sections first then apply it, here you just can’t do that. As a new player you have to be exactly in sync with the guide in order to fully understand it and if you’re an experienced player, they don’t have need for the guide.
Sorry this was so negative. Like I a said before there is a lot of great information here, and I can only imagine it took a long time to complete. I appreciate this guide and used it myself. I just wish it was in a more polished and new player friendly format.
EVERY abbreviation used in the guide has the full name used the first time it’s mentioned. All of them.
I can make a few adjustments, but due to forum character limits, I can’t do formatting (that’s what all the \*’s and \_’s are supposed to do, if you were wondering). Unless I make an entirely new thread and reserve the first ten posts, this guide’s not able to get formatting in at all, apart from that first one.

> EVERY abbreviation used in the guide has the full name used the first time it’s mentioned. All of them.
Sorry my bad I wasn’t sure if it was or not since I read the full walkthrough yesterday. But, in a sense that’s what I’m getting at, I have to use the guide step-by-step while I play. If I skip ahead many of the steps become confusing. So, it could be hours apart from the time I read about _Call to Arms_ and then the next time I see at as CtA, as a new player I’m still going to have to look it up to understand the step. It saves you time, but makes it harder for the new player.

> …I can’t do formatting (that’s what all the \*’s and \_’s are supposed to do, if you were wondering).
When I meant format I meant labbeling of the steps, not the actual bold and italics (I already figured something was causing the guide not to do it due to the asterisks appearing instead of bold). So instead of having just _ **STEP 34** _ use something like _ **STEP 34 – Unlocking Dwarves** (10Qi to 50Qi [1e19 to 5e19] Gems):_
Basically the way you have the steps labelled is useless. I read the step number, but I’m not told what the step is. On short steps this is fine, but a lot of the steps are a paragraph or more long. So I either have to blindly follow the step only to realize what I’m doing after, or read it once to figure out what the step accomplishes then read it again.
There’s plenty of spots that can be improved. Like Step 32 it’s all over the place, why is it even one step? I’ll break-down why it’s confusing by putting my commentary after the quotes to the step.
> _ **STEP 32** : Build up to 300 HoL’s, if you haven’t already. Buy the upgrade that appears – it unlocks Titans._
Requirements for unlocking Titans aren’t given explicitly at any point before this. Excavations are done in Step 30 and Step 31 which are a requirement for unlocking Titans and Druids, but this is never explained to the player. Then, in this step we read a full sentence first before being told it’s to unlock Titans. So you give all the requirements first and then let the player know what they’re doing which seems backward. This sentence should be _Now we are going to unlock the Titan Faction. Build up to 300 HoL’s, if you haven’t already._ Doing it this way, the player know why they need those 300 HoLs.
> _If you’re close to hitting 1M FC earned this run, keep going – it doesn’t matter if you spend them, just as long as you earned them. If you’re not close to it (won’t get it within an hour or two), then Abdicate and go Neutral, then Titans. Their spell gives you FC, just like Goblin’s Greed, so that will help, though it will take a little while to get 1M FC with Titans, because of their insanely low mana regen. Lightning Strike (LS) is a powerful spell when it hits the right building, but is set through a seeded RNG (Abdicating, Reincarnating, and Exporting/Importing won’t change the result).Once you’ve earned 1M FC in a run (Elven or Titans, doesn’t matter, but do it as one of those two), you can unlock Druids._
So, unlocking the _Titan Faction_ and _Druid Faction_, actually extends across a few steps. You could have labelled Step 31 as Step 31 (Excavations for Unlocking Titan and Druid Factions).
As well unlocking Druids is put in the same step as unlocking Titans and the way to unlock Druids is explained in this odd way. You first give the 1M FC requirement for unlocking Druids, but don’t say what that’s for, then you go into a rather long tangent about the best way to get 1M FC (Titans or Goblins etc.), but since you haven’t told the player what they’re trying to accomplish it’s confusing. Then you finally let the player know that those 1M FC were for unlocking Druids. It’s so backward. Just say _Next we are going to unlock the Druid Faction, which requires earning 1M FC in one run. If you’re close to 1M FC in your current run, keep going until you hit 1M FC (it doesn’t matter if you spend them you just need 1M FC earned in one run). If not abdicate and play as either Titans or Goblins. The Titan Spell Lighting Strike will help you earn FC, and the Golbin’s Greed Spell will also help you earn FC. However, I recommend playing as Titans so you can unlock Druids and the Titan Heritage as well._
But, your explanation makes none of that clear. Am I doing a Titan run for coins, or FC to unlock Druids? Well you don’t explain that and you put in the bit about the Titan Spell being powerful if it hits the right building, which leads the player to think you are talking about gaining coins, but aren’t we focusing on getting FC at this point? Why not mention that Lighting Strike can be powerful for coin gain later as to not confuse the player as why they are doing lightning strikes for this step?
> _If you do it as Elves, go Titans for their Heritage, then go Druids. If you’re Titans, make sure you’ve unlocked their Heritage before going Druids. Know that Neutral Factions have higher FC costs for their upgrades – T1 start off at 500 of two different FC, one Good, one Evil._
Now the sentence has a ton of ambiguity, _If you do it as Elves…_ Do what? Well, _it_ you mean unlock Druids which means earn 1M faction coins, but because the step is already confusing, it’s hard to tell what you mean.
- Does _it_ mean play as Titans?
- Does _it_ mean play as Goblins?
- Does _it_ mean cast Goblin’s Greed?
- Does _it_ mean go Titans for there heritage?
Well the player doesn’t know what _do it_ means because you talked about five subjects in the span of a few sentences and then you tell them to _do it_.
* * *
**TL:DR**
None of your steps are labelled (aside from the numbers), most of the steps are split up in a way that doesn’t make the best sense (step 32 has me unlocking Titan, Druid, getting the Titan Heritage, possibly abdicating as Goblins), and you typically tell the player what to do first, before telling them what it is they’re trying to accomplish. Honestly, this has the right information, but it could have been presented better.
I know I’ve been pretty critical. Again, I’m sorry for this. Obviously I found the guide useful and you didn’t have to do it all so I’m thankful you compiled it. I’ve probably made things sound worse than they are, but I do feel that it could be improved, but I might be the only one who feels that way. So there may be no point in changing it now.
I also feel this guide is very compact for the information it’s attempting to convey. There’s a little too much hand-holding, and I get the impression from chat conversations that some people want to figure out some of this game for themselves. The older R0 guide was a bit more generalized in a lot of places, and I don’t think it needed many changes to bring it up to date.
So, there’s my two cents.
THIS GUIDE IS LABELED “IN-DEPTH” FOR A REASON. You got a problem with that? Then ignore it. The guide warns you it’s heavy on spoilers and is in-depth, and if you’re upset about it giving you too much information, it’s your fault for ignoring the warnings everywhere and in its name.
And we must have very different chats, because all I ever see is people asking for their hands to be held. One of the things I took into consideration when deciding how much to put into this guide is what I see in chat about what’s asked for help on, particularly frequently. If you want a guide that’s very general, then why’s is good for you. If you want one that’ll help you get a ton of trophies, this one’s good for you.
**EDIT** @Xerc – I made some changes to it, including labeling the steps. Tell me what you think (though it’s starting to get whiny about the amount of characters in it, I had to delete a ton of stuff, consolidate the bottom of the third post, and move Step 25 to the second post for the third post to read properly and not be one massive paragraph).
That’s the THIRD time you’ve commented about having no need for this guide on this thread. You’re not saying anything productive. If you don’t like the guide, then don’t use it. People who would prefer a more in-depth guide will, and _they_, not you, are who this guide is for.
i just link this guide and tell ppl to not follow it, but to use it to understand some basics.
if they happen to be very very slow (there are alot of those) they get the advice to actualy follow it. easy, solved
btw book, how much handholding ppl want… it depends very much on which chatroom you look. there seems to be certain thinking ways in certain rooms
vinnie – I know that. That was kind of my point with me mentioning how it is in my room, in counter to the statement that ‘from chat conversations that some people want to figure out some of this game for themselves’, as stated by someone NOT in the same room as me. Guess I could have been a little more clear with the statement that just because one room has one generalized view, doesn’t mean all the rooms have that view.
@1bookboy
Thank you! In that case, I have nothing left to say except great guide.
Well one thing left to say, I read this guide because it has a lot of information and if a player doesn’t want “hand-holding” they just won’t read the guide altogether or can skim stuff. And this guide is clearly labelled spoilers too, so the users know to skip it if they don’t want spoilers. So I think you put in the right amount of information.
So I decided to see if the forums update changed the formmatting in my guide, and it sure as hell did. Y'all only saw an asterisk on each step, but it had a backslash in front of it, too, for whatever weird reason. Also, asterisks are no longer bold, but italics, and a double tilda (~) is a strikethrough. Double asterisk is bold. Good news: it's letting me bold the beginning of each step without messing up the post, so I'm happy for that. Bad news: I hate the new font, and bolding is barely discernable in a few spots.

Empathy? I offered my attempt at constructive criticism, and was responded to with anger and loud words. I tried to explain our miscommunication, and got my head bitten off again. This whole thread is completely superfluous, and I'm still done here. Please don't talk about me anymore.
Hey book,
The guide's looking really ugly and hard to follow. Try adding some white space back in. Have a look at my guide - I literally embedded images of white space and it worked a treat!
>Like this:

Also, I'd suggest condensing some of what you say. Sometimes that can be done by changing your suggestions, for example getting Unitary at 3k gems is certainly possible, but nobody wants to spend 10min of active time to get a 1.11% boost:
> **Step 23**... Now go to Buy 1 mode and buy 1 of each building. Only one of each. It'll take a few minutes for you to be able to afford the HoL, but it shouldn't take too long. You're probably going “200B coins at 3K Gems? Is he crazy?” Only a little. It's doable. If you don't want to wait, skip to Step 24. It really shouldn't take more than a little bit. It'll be a lot faster later in R0, but Unitary is a nice upgrade to have right now, too. You can cast Holy Light for clicking reward. Just click like mad on the background, and go Elves when you have the FC for it. An upgrade or two should be immediately available. Going Elves might take a few minutes, depending on your RNG luck with getting Elven Coins instead of others. Don't forget all Exchanges but Elven Exchanges, and when you go Elven, cast Moon Blessing. If you cast Holy Light shortly after starting this run, you should be able to cast Moon Blessing 5 to 8 minutes later, depending on how many of the mana upgrades you've bought. It took me less than 10 minutes to get Unitary, and that was with writing this step, editing another, and talking in the KONG chat to help someone.

That could easily be shifted to around 1B gems and changed to:
>**Step XX** You've got enough gems to grab a quick secret trophy: Unitary. Before properly starting your run, only buy 1 of every building, then continue as normal. [Get Archaeology?]
I'm sure you could shorten that further too.
