The title says it all. The game new day has been starting at 0:00 GMT since the beginning. It may be wise to shift it by 12 hours. Why? Here are some reasons. Those who live in the favorable time zones so that their sleep/work/whatever schedule allows them to be in front of the game have been enjoying a set of situations (we may even call them advantages) like:
1. They can enter the last flash tournament opened on the previous day (well, the last two... fix this issue maybe?) to get extra 150k (300k) SD and 5 (10) VIP points.
2. They can attack those WBs that die just after the extra AS day has started and/or those WB that spawn just before the extra AS day ends, for 30/60/90/120 more AS.
3. They can do 3 AS adventures, getting an expected average gain of 150 AS instead of the 100 or 50 that people able to do 2 or 1 can get.
4. Maybe more? Please add if you can think of something.
In order to ensure that everyone has the same opportunities, I suggest shifting the new day at 12:00 GMT. It does not necessarily need to be a permanent change, it can be shifted every new season or something like that. With the (expected?) addition of the second tournament, there will always be a tournament running every 12 hours, so I see no problems from this point of view.
Disclaimer: yes, I'm one of those for which the current new day happens in the middle of the night. You may say: "set your alarm and wake up". Sure, but why can't we take turns at this?
Please comment, both players' and devs' opinions are welcome. Are there any drawbacks that I haven't figured out?

If it could be trusted to work.
Seems fair if it shifted with each season or similar. Im in an unfavorable timezone too, makes sacrefices for it since its worth it over time. Many games solves things of this nature by having their mandatory daily or weekly maintencene windows, timers on screen when events/features are expected to start/end and they are on proper, slowly or set, changing schedules.
Its probably easy to implement if there was a will to do it and if it was trusted to work. There is so many downsides if stuff breaks utterly.
So all in all im probably against changing anything with regards to servertime at the current moment in time. Dont want to rock the boat.

You have a point there, but I'm not sure if messing around with timing would be a good idea.
I believe it's worth to note here, that 2/3 of the timezone-caused (dis)advantages are actually bugs: the flash limit not working on the first two flashes and the adventure limit not working (adventure limit working would make the event even more boring and pointless though).
Maybe it would be better/easier (less likely to totally ruin things) to try to eleminate timezone-related diffrences by fixing this bugs (and thinking about reworking adventure then) and finding a way to make EAS more indepentend (maybe a bonus on bosses spawned on EAS, rather than hit on EAS?).

I agree completely with Simoris. Fix the bugs, change EAS to affect bosses which spawn on the day.

I would also agree that this is the best solution. Provided that they are willing and able to fix those bugs. The one on flashes has been around forever.

This is the most annoying thing for me! I have the mandority to set an alarm clock for 2am to load the game and press attack! This is crazy!
The other downside is, that the experienced players wont attack the last WB of a flash event day because they want to have an extra attack when extra WB day starts. So the first extra WB is likely dead in the very first hours leaving no opportunity to be attacked by other people from other timezones.
Todays WB is super and he has 200 attacks left. He will likely survive the next hour before extra event starts. So he will be guaranted dead within the first hour. Either I attack him now or stay up another hour just to get some virtual points.

Why not put the game on a 22/26 hour clock, so the key times change constantly. Then no one is disadvantaged over time

Bolded for emphesis. Im pretty sure it was always intended to be multiple adventures. Why else have different timers between all three? They were there since day one. Probably misscommunication that it was only supposed to be one.

Good to see some participation to the topic and some ideas from more people. Let's hope that the devs read and do something.
Personally, I like the idea to give the bonus to those WBs that spawn on EAS day only, no matter when you attack them (meaning that the WB which dies just after the start of the day should not give the bonus).
Regarding the flash bug, the devs seem uninterested to fix it, since it has always been there.
Regarding adventure, Endo wrote (https://www.kongregate.com/forums/910715-cosmos-quest-the-origin/topics/1857528-patch-notes-4-4-recycle) "Once per day (when the event is active) you'll be able to select a currency to attempt to find on an adventure." Now we can do it more than once, so I believe it's not working as intended.

As Smurf said why have different timers? I agree that it was most likely just a miscommunication on his part. However if they wanted to change timers a bit (so AS could only be done twice) I personally would be fine with that as it would help people that are in non-ideal timezones. I also don't see why another RNG event should exist that could yield quite a bit more AS compared to EAS day. EAS day needs to be redone, and I agree to bosses that spawn on the day only and maybe some other changes to the WB that spawn on that day.

Yes, it may have been a miscommunication. Would be good to know what they meant it to be like.

how about asking about your daytime? it can't be changed and everything is same, but you can join tournaments, WB etc. after end of it, results are 2 days after starting

I actually like the idea. The counter is pushed every turn. So now it is 0:00 on the next day it would be 2:00 am and then 4:00 am and then 6:00 am. Every 12 days it would make a complette turn. So everybody would have at least once in 12 days the counter started on his actuall daytime. Expand the weekly events to 12 and everyone will be happy with the turns.
But please change extra world boss rules anyway. It is realy unfair. For example the last time super loc spawend the day befor extra day. He had 200 attacks left when extra event started. conidering that everyone attacked twice just 100 player got the extra super AS bonus. I was lucky enough to be awake on that particular day and got over 200AS from it. It is unfair to anyone who would be in the middle of the night.
My suggestion is to add following rule: Attacking on WB once on pre extra day counts as attacking WB on extra day IF WB is alive on extra day for at least 1 minute.

This has the following drawback: you may not know if the WB you see will make it into the EAS day. Some bosses are worth attacking only during EAS day, so those who are actually there to see what happens would still get the advantage and/or those who are not there at the time may have wasted a charge.
The fairest idea I have seen in this discussion is to give the bonus to those WBs that spawn on EAS day only, no matter when you attack them, imo.

I'm quite used to current cycles and know when I need to come online for specific thing. Changing them once like originally proposed would make it easy to readapt, having them constanly changing is, I imagine, quite irritating.

That bears a lot of other diffrences, like flash (doesn't fix the current problem, but adds a new one of less players playing flash at the same time, letting them fill up even slower), mid-time unfair EAS (some players will have more EAS bosses than others, some maybe even a super), more time for some players to level heroes for YX and dungeon, imbalancing LF-sheet (even though it seems broken now anyway), waiting up to a day for results and rewards, tbc....

Having 12 events and 12 diffrent times would mean same event starts at the same time, that would still be against people in bad timezones.

Hey Devs! Let's not forget about this!
Do you recognize that there is a problem or it's just fine this way for you? If you see the problem, different possible solutions have been proposed in this discussion.

Let's forget about this.
It's a self-serving selfish idea to benefit the proposer whilst screwing over numerous other people.

Classic projection. You don't want to lose your unfair advantage, so you accuse those advocating for a fairer system of being "selfish". The OP's suggestion to shift the game day by 12 hours is flawed (although it's still more fair than the status quo), but there's literally no good reason that the bug fixes advocated by Simoris shouldn't be implemented.

The proposer even proposed to shift the schedule every season, despite the fact that there are people who enjoyed the current situation for over a year. How selfish of him...
The proposed idea is admittedly not perfect (although I see no significant drawbacks), but it raised attention on an existing problem and pushed people to discuss and come out with more ideas, which was the real purpose of this discussion.
Personally, I think that the best solution is to **fix the bugs on flash and adventure** (if there is indeed a bug with adventure, otherwise change how adventure works) and **give bonus AS only to the bosses which spawn during EAS day** no matter if we attack them during the day or on the next day.

not me. I often miss the start of events or extra adventure etc.
but we knew how this game ran when we started, so why are you crying about it now?
Maybe a further improvement would be to say the next 3 bosses to spawn after EAS day starts are EAS. At least then we might actually get some action....
|

Why cry about it now?
Hell there are like 861 posts on the bug reports thread and 842 posts on feature requests. We cry the whole time since the beginning of this game.
Usually we got mute after a good update or a bug fix or some other random giveaways. But more and more players feel upset with the development of this game. So we see more and more negative aspects.
We have every right to complain and the devs have every right to ignore us. But since there is this forum on kongregate I will cry and complain because I am upset.
Having a disadvantage living on a part of the world knowing that other players profit more from our disadvantage is unfair. Better having the same system for everyone and not for those only who are awake on a part of the world.
Fix the bugs, deliver the promised content and make the weekly events fair for everyone. This is not to much to ask!

Well, I've often complained in chat about the ridiculousness that you have to stay up until 2AM to get some bonuses.
I think it's fair to say that we need a fixed time where things can happen or reset.
The easiest way to stop complains would be to make it so that the timezone doesn't give a big advantage anymore.
How?
EAS: Make every attack on a world boss that lives on EAS day give the reward. So I can attack the WB early, but still get the reward, as long as it lives until reset time.
Flash: Just fix it so that the extra tournament thing is no longer.
Adventures: Make two options: Max one per kind of adventure, so one AS,PG and CC. Or 2 of one kind, but disabling all others.

This doesn't work. What if the boss you attack now dies before EAS day? You have wasted a charge, while people with favorable schedule can decide what to do. I think it's better to give the bonus on bosses that **spawn** during EAS day, so we can attack them on the next day and still get the bonus.
