I hope that the captcha is something fun. Like a 3x3 grid of matching pairs mini-game (but please without annoying 10s wait time).
I realy like the idea of this new event. And I like the concept of lowering the rewards.

Small update on this, I'm still waiting for confirmation when we'll be able to patch in the captcha and thus begin the beta testing of the event.
It's possible now we may be running our 2nd event on June 10th as intended, and then when that ends immediately begin the beta, and delay the official release of G.A.M.E.S from June 17th to June 18th, giving us a 24 hour window to make adjustments.
However I'm still waiting ot hear confirmation as I mentioned.

Starting the events the moment they are online might or might not give advantages. We won't know until they are online. But, in doubt, why not starting the events at 12 instead of at midnight? In case there is actually an advantage, this might, for a change, be given to those who are available to play in a different timezone with respect to the usual one, where the same people get all the advantages. In case there is no advantage in starting early, there's no downside. If I understood correctly, these weekly events will run for less than a week, so they can be completely inside a single week even if they start with a 12 hours shift.
(Note that this does not solve the unfair timezone issues, which you keep ignoring, see [here](https://www.kongregate.com/forums/910715-cosmos-quest-the-origin/topics/1863151-idea-shift-the-game-new-day-by-12-hours), but it would be a start)

The timezone issues aren't ignored. They're just not commented on because there is little to comment on them. They're often internally discussed, with most recent discussions happening just over a week ago. That said, any adjustment we make in terms of shifting the start point of the day doesn't fix the issue, it just shifts it to another group of players. The solution has to be one that doesn't revolve around adjusting the start point of things and instead looks at the mechanics.
Timezone issues will exist no matter when we upload things in the game. We have players in the game that play as far back (relative to GMT) as West Coast America, being -8 hours on GMT, all the way as far forward as Australia, being +12 hours on GMT, with hoards of players scattered in between. Truthfully there isn't really a time we can release content that is benefiting to all players.
I have an idea, but it's not something that's worth sharing right now, nor do I know if it's feasible and even then it doesn't solve the whole problem, just part of the problem. But it's certainly not something we ignore.

I totally understand. That's why I suggested that the events go online at 12. So that not all content benefits the same timezone every time.
Anyway, a first fix would be to have the flash tournament counter actually count the number of entries, so that people are unable to enter that 1-2 more tournaments that were created on the previous time. This sounds easy enough and would solve one of the sources of unfairness without any detrimental effect. For EAS day and adventure, it's more complicated, but there are some (in my opinion) reasonable suggestions in the discussion I linked (also, I said you are ignoring the issue because that discussion has been there for months, with a good participation, but nobody from the dev team ever acknowledged its existence; even a simple "we are aware of the problem" would have been nice. Good to know you are aware :) )

For what it's worth, generally when there is a hot topic in the community and we acknowledge it - it's often relating to a bug or something that has an immediate fix. Such as the recent issue with players unable to access the PvP element of the game, or be able to fight. Something like this is more a systematic thing and not necessarily a case of "This code isn't functioning as expected we need to fix that" and rather something we need to sit down, look at options, discuss the implications of those and think about trying to find a solution that works for everyone. An example of that would be the Daily Quest concerns raised prior to the start of the Season, where we hadn't really commented on them, were aware of them and were discussing internally what to do about them and then eventually when we had thought of something to implement we starting publicly discussing it.

If I may, on the topic of staff acknowledgement of issues, I've seen this on many other sites and places in general, where users are discussing an issue. Staff being aware of (and/or working on) the issue behind the scenes is nice, but the users cannot 'smell this', as they say in the Netherlands. There is no way for the average user to know what staff is or is not aware of, unless someone from the staff posts a 'hey, we see this discussion' comment. And if staff does not do this, users will assume staff is ignoring them/the issue.
I understand that posting 'we see this' might lead to users wanting to know what's being done, when, how, etc, but I think a lot of the times, simply 'we see this' makes users feel, well, seen. And thus gets rid of a lot of discontent. Feeling that an issue is being ignored altogether is worse than feeling like it's taking forever. I mean, everyone knows the Gaia 'soonTM' joke. We get that. But if a simple post from staff can remove so much discontent, isn't that worth it?
Letting users know they are being seen is very powerful. And I wish staff (from all places) would understand that.
/two cents

Update on this.
I am expecting us to update tomorrow night (Sunday 23:59 GMT), this update if it happens will include the requirements for us to beta test G.A.M.E.S. It is my hope then we can run that beta test until Tuesday 23:59 GMT. We'll then re-evaluate, take 24 hours and push the event live officially on 00:01 GMT Thursday 18th, running all the way through until Monday 22nd 23:59 GMT.
Once that has happened, we'll then look at Space Journey and see what adjustments if any we'll be making. I then hope we can bring Space Journey back for Wednesday 8th July for 5 days. Shortly after that we'll hopefully be in position to introduce a 3rd event to the rotation.
