Cosmos Quest will continue to have chat rooms.
As for forums they did write that "other Kongregate-created games" will still have one, so I guess we count as well.
In case we do not I think it's possible to make one out of the currently kinda dead official Discord server CQ has or sth.

The message did say that about 20 games will still have chat, without saying which ones. For me, one of the biggest draws to this game is the community. People such as yourself Ice and Alya....The game would certainly lose a lot of appeal if it lost its chat community

How will announcements be made in the future?
How will we be able to ask questions about the future of the game?
Feedback from the developers isn't always great even using this forum, but without it I can see a real problem developing.

It's not difficult to write and maintain your own forums. The hosting required was also very cheap last time I needed it. The problem would be making sure there's only 1 official forum place, otherwise everything just disappears all over the place. The forums would need to be properly promoted inside the game as well, so new people knew where to go.
I mean, I could make that, but I'm sure there's better people who could do it anyway.
Or it might just go to something like discord or whatever; but again the devs need to make sure they get right on it, and promote ONE single offical source of information, AND promote it properly inside the game.
Otherwise yeah.... the game pretty much dies I guess.... just not as fast as if we lost chat, but still at a reasonable pace.
Like getting Dengue fever, rather than Ebola.

It's free, and not to bad.
Just mentioning it in case going the Discord route isn't something the Devs want. Tho, Discord kinda makes sense since certain things on there can be made Owner/Mod only. Like for announcements. And it's got chat as well.
