So I figured I’d make a thread cataloging all the references I could find ingame (and the references other people get that I miss…and I’m sure I missed plenty), since I hadn’t seen any other threads like it. I’ll try to parse it out somewhat to make it easier to process.
**Managers**
Cabe Johnson ~ A Portal 2 reference. He is the man who talks about making life take back the lemons it gives you. And also who discusses using lemons to burn a house down, but that’s a story for a different reference.
Perry Black ~ A reference to Perry White, the owner of the Daily Planet (Superman). Combines this reference with Conrad Black, who was a disgraced newspaper publisher.
W.W. Heisenbird ~ A reference to Walter White of ‘Breaking Bad,’ who takes up the alias Heisenberg and opens a car wash for the purpose of money laundering.
Mama Sean ~ A reference to the pizza chain Papa Johns’. The image is based on Michael Jackson, who had a song in which a phrase sounding like “Mama Sean” could be heard.
Jim Thorton ~ A reference to the Canadian food chain Tim Horton’s.
Forest Trump ~ A reference to Forrest Gump, who piloted a shrimp boat after leaving the military. The last name is also a secondary reference to Donald Trump, based on the image.
Dawn Cheri ~ A reference to Don Cherry, CBC commentator for ice hockey.
Stefani Spielburger ~ A reference to Stephen Spielberg. If you don’t know who that is, go ask Google. I hear he knows everything…
The Dark Lord ~ A combination of Saddam Hussein and classical Satan, referencing the South Park movie in which the two were lovers, of all things. Thus making this manager their love child. Now if you’ll excuse me, I need to find some brain bleach after that one…
Derrick Plainview ~ A reference to the oil derrick, the machine used classically to harvest oil from the ground (and also the machine in the icon used ingame). Image also refers to There Will Be Blood, specifcally Daniel Day Lewis’ character therein.
Ebenezer Rockerfeller ~ A combination of Ebenezer Scrooge from Charles’ Dickens novel _A Christmas Carol_ and Rockefeller, a late 1800s businessman who is known for his monopoly over the oil industry.
Darky McGrumpface ~ Grumpy Cat. Do I need to say more?
Jenn Catsburger ~ A reference to Jeffrey Katzenburg, CEO of Dreamworks. They made Shrek, which explains the ingame image.

Shrimp is Life ~ A reference to a Youtube video, which had Shrek in place of Shrimp originally.
Post-Credit Neuralyzer ~ References the Neuralyzer from Men in Black, which wipes the recent memories of anyone affected by it. Incredibly effective for a movie theater, as it’d make people not remember the movie they just watched, thus going back for more.
Zombie Proof Rigs ~ Possibly referring to a Left 4 Dead 2 map which was on an oil rig. Also refers to zombie apocalypse survival lore in general, which recommends going to an oil rig because it’s apparently safe there. But that’s because we’ve never actually had an apocalypse situation to test it, so for all we know this upgrade would be needed in real life.

I had avoided the achievements because I felt it might be tough in some cases to see where the line between reference and name ends. There’s plenty more in there I suspect, but the issue from my perspective is seeing where the line is.

I think Left 4 Dead 2 had a zombie mode where you played on an oil rig.
In zombie apocalypse survival lore, an oil rig is supposedly the absolute best place to be to avoid zombie attacks because they can’t get to you. If you’ve got fresh water beneath you, you can drink. You can fish to eat (long line, I know). And you keep the biters away because they have no way up to you.

Looked it up – “Left 4 Dead 2 Oil Rig” appears to lead to videos of a game mode in such, making that check out. Also found a page on some sort of zombie apocalypse survival wiki which specifies that _offshore_ rigs are the way to go here. More dangerous, but good if you need a short-term location to stay. Bad in long term due to the elements, possible pirates, and no real way to grow more food (it’s offshore…this ain’t Minecraft, son. Can’t drop a few dirt blocks, take a hoe to them and start planting wheat).

Black Friday the 13th is Black Friday, the day of the year after Thanksgiving where business go into the black (positive) rather than the red (negative) (AKA make a lot of money), and Friday the 13th, the occasional day known for bad luck and supernatural (I’m assuming that the latter is the noteworthy one because of the angels).
I would like to reiterate that Trump most certainly is intentional based off the image.
Unrefusable offer is a play on “An offer you can’t refuse” from the Godfather, I think.

Holy Moolah seems a bit too generic to be a reference, and I’m against listing Dogecoin because it’s direct as opposed to the references listed already (pretty much every other reference is mildly obscure or at least modified to make it not as obvious – see James Camera, Jenn Catsburger, etc.).

Shrimp references
1200 – Yoda quote: “Begun, the Clone War has!”
1400 – King of the North, Game of Thrones reference.
1700 – Reference to the Battle of the Blackwater, once again GoT.
1800 – This one’s a bit tenuous, but it could be referring to the Battle of the Bulge. In this WW2 battle, the Germans attempted to recapture the port of Antwerp. The port is on the Scheldt River, which leads to the North Sea. The North Sea has shrimp.
2000 – The Red Wedding. GoT AGAIN!
