# Spend more gold on science = worse value for money

5 posts

This runs contrary to logic. In most, if not all games, the more you spend on a single transaction on a resource, you get better value for money (like an extra 10% of the resource compared to spending the same amount over multiple smaller purchases). However, Adventure Communist actually gives you LESS science the more gold you spend. Easiest example: 2000 science costs 600 gold. 400 science costs 90 gold. If you purchase 400 science 5 times, you will get 2000 science, but it will only cost you 450 gold - a saving of 150 gold. This flies in the face of all logic. > _Originally posted by **[DaleM12](/forums/939753/topics/953249?page=1#11754033):**_ > This runs contrary to logic. Maybe it is like that as an attempt to trick people? In Communist Russia, gold purchase you. In Communist Russia, logic flies in face of you. It's the tyical predatory \$ for Currency scheme. 50 Gold for \$5. 110 gold for \$10 (10% bonus!) 280 gold for \$20 (25% bonus!) 800 for \$50 (60% bonus! I don't need dinner this week) 1275 for \$75 (70% bonus, I can buy a lot of science with this, I'll barely need to play the game I just spent \$75 on!) 2000 for \$100! (100% Bonus! WOOO! My wife left me. This is fine. I'm okay with this. Wait, she took the dog?!) Totally go with the \$100. Finish the game in a couple days, pretend to be proud of yourself. Go get a free dog from someone else's backyard. Lurk on the forums waiting for the opportunity to tell others how easy the game was for you. Because you're awesome. I love how people are throwing around the idea of spending \$30 worth of gold, like there are ways to obtain that amount that don't require paying the cash or doing dozens of offers that won't pay out anyway. 2000 Science is 600 gold. You can either pay \$50 to get 800 gold and have leftover, or buy less "efficiently" in smaller chunks (as if spending \$\$ on a mobile idle game is an efficient use for real world cash). \$20 for 280, \$20 for another 280 (560 now), and \$5 to get the rest. But hey, you saved \$5 and have 10 gold left! The reason the science is screwed up is because it feeds the gold for \$ trap. Gold doesn't come from anywhere besides buying gold (I'm ignoring those free gold offers because they're BS). 20 Science for 7 gold is probably for those offers, because it's highly inefficient and only an idiot or desperate person would use it. 400 science for 90 Gold. 90 Gold can be obtained for \$10. You'll have an extra 20 gold. Yippee. If you want, you can spend \$5 twice and have 10 less gold. Hmm. Whatya gunna do? 900 science for 240 gold. 280 Gold for \$20. You'll have 40 extra. 2000 science for 600 gold. 800 gold for \$50! You'll have 200 extra. Good for you, you've almost won the game! What are you going to spend your extra 200 gold on? 800 more science? You'll totally win on the leaderboa...oh wait. It's kind of funny when you look at the experiments now. The most expensive are worth \$25. Some are worth \$10, some \$5. It's fine.
