I probably played this game for about six months. During that time I would have this game open while I did some work on a project of mine on this computer, so it was always on. Since I spent so much time in this game, I just wanted to first thank Tovrick for making this wonderful thing.
I also feel that this is a lot of time put into a thing to not leave without leaving some final thoughts, for whatever they are worth.
As far as how much you can progress in this amount of time, I have every co-founder special training done including those in A2. I feel that I could finish A1 embassy in 1 or 2 days if I did only that with my time. My current school is only a sliver away from my first A1 4e6 milestone. A2 would of course be much more difficult to complete, though I do have 11 milestones unlocked.
For me, in this late stage of the game, the game has become too demanding for time. In my younger days, I could look at my progress and think, "Okay, I just have to check back in six hours to see where i'll be." Now I can make 1 million fame per hour if I only spend that entire hour managing my school. It has become too much of a time sink, and it no longer follows the idle pattern that i desired to compliment my work-time with just a few minute break in Sword Fight.
Everyone has ideas, so they are kind of cheap, but I'll leave mine here anyway. If it would be desirable to re-establish an idle feel to the late game in Sword Fight, here are some ideas:
A new Lineage could auto-fight the co-founder until the co-founder max level is reached. Or perhaps periodically. After X number of fights against Training opponents, the Disciple faces the Co-Founder at the his next highest Training Level. **Watching each of these fights so the next fight button can be pressed is the largest time sink there is in the late game.** If a Lineage were available that would automate this, Sword-Fight's cool-idle-game-score would increase dramatically, even though it is sky-high right now. :)
Skill allocation is another late game time sink. You can of course copy a previous master, but, due to research speed and research fame bonus, it is advantageous to spend all your skill points before promoting a disciple. This essentially makes is a bad idea to even use the "copy X Master" buttons. I don't believe I've ever used these buttons. It is my opinion that they should be replaced with buttons that are not depended on current masters but instead use saved templates. To solve the skill allocation time sink, these buttons could automate skill allocation as well similar to how the equiptment upgrade is automated. When skill points are available, they could be spent according to the selected template.
So that is really it. Have fun.

Actually I am kind of in a similar-ish boat. At this point I've already completed everything there is to do in the game and I've farmed a decent amount of fame to be ready for the next update. Could I grind out more fame and push my Records/Histories even further? Yes, but it's too time consuming.
It would be nice if the game had a passive fame generation mechanic. Maybe add another tab to school records which records your top8 **fame/h** rather than **total fame**. Then you average your top fame rates and passively generate like 5% of that. So each day will only passively get you like an hour's worth of active grinding but it's still gonna build up over time. And if you actually want a lot of fame in a hurry active grinding would still be preferable.
EDIT: And this would also give you another thing to do in the game: Try to populate this new tab with the top fame rates you can achieve which will require strategy, planning and good use of all game mechanics.

I'm no where near the level of you two but I'm quitting because of the same reason, it just feels like I need to putting in way too much time way too often to see any gains
