You only level up the scroll you select, not all scrolls at the same time. You probably have a scroll selected that is already maxed out.

Nope, happened to me, too. I haven't noticed a consistent pattern for when it happens, but maybe 50% of the time a scroll won't advance while offline.

I have had this happen a couple times to me as well. I selected a scroll with less than a minute of research time before I left in the morning and logged off several hours later i came back and the scroll had not advanced at all.

I don't think this has happened to me, but a possible cause is your selecting a scroll, and imediately logging out. If the autosave doesn't update before you log out, it won't level the new scroll. I think auto save updates every few fights, so it is possible to log out before the update takes place.

Just had it happen to myself as well, sorry for thinking it was their fault ;)

Nope, I always manually save prior to quitting the game.
It's a little frustrating because I would have easily had everything maxed out by now if the scrolls were advancing correctly, but it's not a deal breaker to me. I've already "beat" the game, so this is just something I check on once or twice a day.

Are you making sure you save the game right after selecting the scroll? It happened to me once, now I've been paying attention and it doesn't happen anymore

Had it happen to myself, is it possible the 18th Star doesnt work offline so that could be the case?

There is a bug with the 18th star's Innovation bonus. It only gives offline exp in some cases. A temp work-around is to save before you go offline and then load when you come back online.

Ah, thanks. That fixed it for me - I didn't think to manually load the game.
