**Holyday City Reloaded Medium Badge Guide**
Feelings about the game aside, here is what you will need to do to get the badge without spending money. It will take at least 1 week, but how much time you spend in the game vs offline is up to you.
The goal is to get 10 Sp (1e25) money. To do that we're going to get 11.58 Qi money/second (1.158 e19) and then use a 10 day time warp. To afford that 10 day time warp, we need to collect the daily reward for 7 days in a row. If you miss a day, then it's going to take longer than a week to get enough gold for the warp, sorry. But you can get it eventually.
If you haven't yet, go into the settings and turn on "money / second on main screen". Also note that you can press 1 to switch notations and 2 to show money per second on each building and percentage of income.
**First run:** Play until you can afford the first office upgrade. If you can reach the second upgrade, get that too. Just buy all facility upgrades when you can.
**Second run:** The boutiques will be your main income once you get the upgrade for it. End by getting the second (if you didn't already) and third office upgrade.
**Third run: ** The x15 multiplier you now have will help you set the run up much faster, but eventually boutiques will still be the best building. End by getting the fourth and fifth upgrades.
**Fourth run:** Now that you have these upgrades, all your early game income is coming from science. Materials and energy don't matter. So, this run will set up much faster, in less than an hour it will pass the third run. Once you hit 300 labs, wait until you can get the factory profits x250 upgrade, along with lab speed upgrades it becomes the best building. It ends up about halfway to the amount you need, so let's end the run by getting the next 2 office upgrades for all profits x2.5.
**Fifth run: ** Set up again, same as before but with the x2.5. This will get you over 11.58 Qi per second, use the 10d warp and you're done. If you play aggressively you can reach this point in about 3 days.
Please offer advice if I skipped anything important, thanks!
**Edit: ** It turns out I jumped the gun on this guide, **we can finish in just 3 and a half days**. Follow the guide as written above, but go ahead and start a sixth run once you can collect the next two office upgrades (x15 resources and x4 happiness). Boutiques will once again be king, and the x15 resources give you more energy and science. Once you have the energy upgrades at level 8 and the lab speeds at 2 for botiques and hotels, you can just buy a 1 day time warp and finish the game.

you skipped the last step:
when you get the badge, NEVER PLAY THIS GAME AGAIN!

Don't forget about daily codes from facebook/twitter, they can help achieve it even faster.

You can get gold for free by clicking the "like" buttons for Facebook and Twitter. The game can't check if you actually liked the pages, so just close the new tabs that open.

Because the game is trying to frustrate you by keeping useful upgrades and the like just out of reach, even when it looks like they shouldn't be. The more frustrated you are, the more likely you are to just pay them for holy bars. Making the game logically consistent or fun isn't profitable.

To give you a real answer, office upgrades are 1/10th of your total money. So you need 18sx.

How on earth do you finish your runs so fast that you can be done in 3,5 days?
On your third run you say to end on getting 4th and 5th office upgrade. The 5th costs 700 Qi, which requires you to get to 7 Sx before you can afford it (office 10% of total).
I'm over 14 hours into my third run, yet my income is 44 Qa /s, meaning I'd have to spend another 37 hours before reaching the goal of 7 Sx. There are no notable normal upgrades within reach.
You also say in the third run Boutiques are best earners, but they're in second place, after labs (34 vs 40%)
EDIT: after an hour I got a x3 boost on production. Boutiques are in the lead now, but only after way too many hours.
EDIT 2: Decided to use two 2H boosts. I can now confirm that above strategy is at least lacking in information: you reach 300 labs well before you reach the 5th office upgrade. The 2nd and 3rd run are incredibly long when doing as sugested. I can't comment on the 4th run yet, I'm waiting to reach the suggested end of the 3rd, which will take another 2 hours.

So, I just got the badge. I did it in 4 runs.
1st run, I took about 20 hours and got the first office upgrade. I should have stuck it out for a couple more hours and gotten the second as well.
2nd run lasted about 48 hours and got the next 4 upgrades.
3rd run lasted about 20 hours and got the next 3 upgrades.
4th run lasted about 12 hours and had a "1 day" thinger in the middle of it. I also used the 3 "2 hour" thingers I got from logging in for 5 days (I used those first actually). If I had waited about 2 hours before the 1 day thing I might have been able to finish a couple hours sooner since I ended up waiting about 6 hours after I used it for the last 200 experience for city level 3.
1st run was lab dominated at the end, though getting to the lab took nearly an hour.
2nd run was Boutique dominated.
3rd run was Lab and Factory dominated.
4th run was about even between Boutique, Lab, Factory, and Hotel.

Here's a minimal effort, (as opposed to minimum time), method:
("Startup" means buying stuff for however long you don't need to wait around for completeions).
Do a startup, close the game and do whatever for about half a day.
Open the game, spend everything. If you have time to do a startup and will get an office upgrade from restarting, restart, otherwise, close the game and do whatever again.
One time, you will open the game and *BAM*, there's the badge and you've probably spent well under an hour of actual time on it.

Every run feels incredibly long, but that's just how the game is. The shortest you can do each run is to grab just 1 office upgrade each time, and if you do that they'll still feel like they take forever. That's just the game.

This guide is for the medium badge, the easy badge won't take too long whatever way you do it. You can setup and leave for the medium badge, but you'll have to return several times and it will probably take over a week depending how often you check in.

Yes, as I said it was minimum effort rather than minimum time.
Unless you are right on the cusp of a level, it doesn't really matter if you actually get the badge Saturday, Monday or a week Tuesday. The idea is that you only spend a couple minutes here and a couple minutes there when you have some to spare.

Thanks for the info.
In order to find which business has more investment value, I switched the business profit appearance to 'per second', and the number units to engineering notation.
I then used a big number calculator on calculator.net to divide the /sec value by the purchase price.
The higher numbers show the potency, I think.

This helped some, but I went a little further than this suggested in some resets and got the e22 4x happiness reward on my 4th or 5th reset. After that, I just kept upgrading stuff and had enough to clear the badge in a little over 3 days (not too long after the fourth daily reward). Never needed to buy 1d or 10d payout items.

Not all upgrades give the same factor in production - you want to compare the after-upgrade production (or strictly: the increase in production). Things can get a bit more complicated if upgrades depend on each other - an upgrade from the upgrade section and a trophy, for example. Each on its own might appear weak but together they can be very powerful.

If you play semi-actively when things are easy to upgrade, you can get the badge in 4-5 days, by setting the buildings to display gold per second and showing total gold earned per second on the main page (both options are in settings). Then just upgrade whatever gives you the biggest return for the money invested, making use of the free timewarps you get along the way when the game hits a wall. You want to reset when you have at least 2 office upgrades unlocked, add them together and be sure you have enough to buy both of them before resetting or it will take longer. in the end, you will want to get 8-10 of those upgrades, so 4-5 resets.

I prefer % of total profit, easier to compare them at a glance.

Gold per second is actually easier if you know the least bit of math. Tripling a 30% building is not going to make it 90% - you'd wind up with around 56%.

Thank you for making this brief guide. It made it easier knowing where I needed to be before using the warp, and I appreciate that folks like you do this for other players.

There should be 3 more badges. A hard one for reaching lvl 30 on the island, another hard badge for reaching lvl 40 in the city, and an impossible badge for reaching 384 trophies in island. Would keep people playing for much longer.

I also prefer % of total profit despite the fact that I almost never care what the percentage income of a building would be after an upgrade. Tripling a 30% building, would increase my income by (3-1)x(30%) = 60% of my current income, which is usually what you want to know. Furthermore, if I want to know which building to upgrade with a similar upgrade, percentages makes that trivial. True, "a little math" makes decisions easy enough with gold/second, but it's even eaier with percentages. The only time I might want to know the percentage of a given building after an upgrade is possibly when I want to calculate the impact of a TV commercial. Sometimes I *do* use income per second though, due to percentage showing too few significant digits. For example, what is (1111-1) times 0%?
