Shield Calculation

I don't quite understand how the shield mechanics work. So in principle, shield power is substracted from the damage prior to armor and speed factors and seems to be calculated for each enemy ship seperately. 1 Muralla with 80k shield will not take damage from any number of enemy ships with power lower than 80k but will take damage from ships with higher power. What I don't understand is the interaction with the damage splitting according to the weight of the ships in my fleet. For example, take a fleet containing 400 Muralla (80k shield), 825 Siber (30k shield) and 100 Alkantara (50k shield). In this fleet the weight ratios of the ships will make the Murallas take 50% of the damage, Siber 18.75% and Alkantara 31.25%. If I pit this fleet against a single Orion League Aurora with 150k Power I would expect not to take any damage, because for example the Muralla will take 50% of 150k = 75k which is lower than it's shield, and the same goes for all the other ships at the chosen ratio. But the battle calculator tells me that all my ships will take damage against Auroras. So, how do shields interact with the damage splitting due to weights?
