I've seen a lot of comments now regarding the early game paywall that blocks off 2/3 characters currently in the game (and made one myself), is there any official response to the issues raised? Is this going to be a re-occuring thing; other anti consumer choices that are just pushed without responding to feedback? I like the game so far, and wouldn't be opposed to supporting the development of it, but this is a huge red flag to me. Especially during a closed beta.
Cheers.

Don't get your hopes up mate. Just look at the forum comments (or lack there-of), its hardly as if the dev is actively involved in the community.
I enjoyed the principle of this game to begin with as well, but given the lack of updates/info/dev involvement, I think its safe to say (and sad) that this game won't amount to anything.

Purchasing the remaining heroes for $5 is how you "buy" the game. And since your post, we've made it so the elf and dwarf will occasionally visit (if you've killed at leat 3 Red Dragons), so you can try them for free. And if you reach Fame Level 50, we award them permanently for free. So it is possible to recruit the elf and dwarf by playing a lot rather than by paying for them.
Other than the premium heroes, the only thing you can purchase is mana. Mana is used for "Enhanced Training", which allows you to double the XP you earned during the prior game.

I see, so the other heroes are going to be the only paywall implemented? I hope you change your mind on that one in particular, as it takes away a lot of the playability of the game for a lot of players. But it's good to know you don't plan on other paywalls/pay to win kind of decisions currently. I'll wait until release, and see how the game/your opinion on this progresses. Thanks for the reply.
