When I win a game the villagers say something like "The name thepickleking will be known far and wide", or "The name guest234 will be known far and wide".
I don't know if this is a joke (i.e. that I will be famous but they still won't get my name right), or a bug :)

Yeah, I have the same issue as well. It keeps saying other names; I presume belonging to other players rather than my name. Not exactly game breaking but it can be mildly annoying given all the effort you put in to defeat the dungeons.

We are are trying to track this down. If anyone notices a pattern as to when it happens, please let me know.
Every dungeoneer should be addressed by their proper name!

I noticed that the 2 sages at the end said my name wrong too but i through it was supposed to be like that. From around feat 13-14 tho they started saying it right.

So they consistently said it wrong till level 13? Were they using the same wrong name each time, or did it change?

The consistently said my name wrong till around level 13. I am not sure the exact level. Also the name was different each time.

We found the problem! Thanks, everyone, for the help on this.
Should be fixed soon. Sorry if anyone was offended by someone else's name!

I honestly thought it was not a bug but a feature.
I kind of enjoyed the idea of other players hearing my name getting praised after they win.
Oh well, i suppose i can live with it being fixed ;)

Hmmm. Maybe they should praise you, but then tell you how much better someone else did. :)
